Chapter 449 Feeling Betrayed
Olivia had just stepped out of the elevator.
After leaving the CEO's office, she had planned to go back to the administrative department.
However, on the way, she learned that Aaron had accompanied Nora to the public relations department. So, she came to see if she could run into Aaron.
She never expected actually to see them together.
At that moment, Aaron was embracing Nora and saying something to her.
They looked very intimate, which made Olivia feel jealous. She had seen how cold and arrogant Aaron could be toward others, but just now, his eyes toward Nora were soft.
Nora was a single mother of three. Olivia couldn't understand what attracted him to her!
When Nora noticed Olivia's presence in front of them, her smile faded, and she felt confused.
‘This is the Gordon's Group subsidiary. How could she be here?’ Nora wondered.
"Nora, they said the future Mrs. Gordon has come to the company, and I guessed it might be you, and it turns out it really is you," Olivia said as she walked up to Nora, pretending to be innocent, and reached out her hand to hold Nora's hand.
Nora instinctively flinched and said expressionlessly, "What a coincidence. Do you work here, too?"
"Yes. Didn't Aaron tell you I'm an intern here? I just started today," Olivia said, making a point to mention Aaron, smiling kindly.
"Is that so?" Nora instinctively glanced at Aaron, feeling strange. Olivia's words sounded like Aaron had arranged for her to intern here.
Nora felt as if Aaron had betrayed her.
Aaron was startled by Nora's glance and felt a chill run down his spine.
His first reaction was for Nora not to misunderstand him. He glanced at Olivia and coldly said, "I'm so busy, I don't have time to remember some irrelevant people."
In other words, Olivia was not worth mentioning to him. Olivia's smile disappeared. She felt extremely awkward.
Nora smiled slightly and believed Aaron. She looked at Olivia, who was pretending to smile, and said, "Since you're interning at the company, focus on your work. Aaron, let's go."
"Okay," he agreed. Seeing that she was calm, Aaron felt relief.
The two were about to leave when Olivia quickly invited, "Nora, I wanted to ask you for some medical knowledge last time. Now, I ran into you. Can you stay for a moment?" Olivia wanted Nora to know about Quinn so she could take the opportunity to win over Aaron.
Nora initially didn't want to pay attention to her, but she could tell that Olivia asked more than just medical questions.
She was curious about what Olivia wanted to say.
"Aaron, you go back to the office first; I'll be there shortly," Nora suggested.
Aaron's face showed obvious displeasure. He didn't want anyone to take away his time with Nora.
But since Nora said it, he could only agree.
"Come over early, don't waste time on unimportant people," Aaron informed.
Nora laughed, and replied, "Okay."
Being ignored once again, Olivia watched Aaron's arrogant figure and clenched her fists in anger.
She thought, 'I won't be an unimportant person! When you and Nora fight, I'll be there to comfort you!'
Nora watched Aaron enter the elevator, and her smile faded.
She walked to a corner and said to Olivia, "Just say it, straight."
Olivia snapped out of her thoughts and said, "Nora, do you know that Aaron has a confidante?"
Aaron has a confidante?
Nora glanced at her and asked, "Who?"
"A beautiful woman named Quinn. Do you know her?" Olivia said.
Of course, Nora knew her.
Olivia said Quinn was Aaron's confidante?
Nora thought for a while. Looking at Olivia's urgent expression, she nodded and said, "Yes."
"Nora, Quinn is Aaron's confidante," Olivia emphasized.
Nora looked at her and asked, "Why do you say that?"
"Because she flaunted it in front of me yesterday," Olivia instigated their relationship. "Quinn said that she cares for Aaron, specifically. You don't know how shameless she is! She even intimately linked arms with Aaron right in front of me and pressed her body against his, with a soft voice, making me want to vomit!"
Nora imagined the scene and looked indifferently.
If it were someone else getting close to Aaron, she would probably be very angry.
But with Quinn, she didn't seem angry at all.
On one hand, she believed that Quinn was not the kind of woman who would seduce Aaron.
On the other hand, Quinn was like a sister to Aaron. If their behavior was intimate, it should be just like how family members interact.
Nora didn't want to engage in conversation with Olivia and asked her perfunctorily, "All right. I understand. Do you have anything else to say?"
"Nora, why are you so calm? Don't you believe me?" Olivia was anxious at Nora's calm demeanor.
Nora glanced at her and calmly said, "Thank you for telling me all this, but I suggest you stop focusing on others and instead put your energy into your work."
After speaking, she didn't want to stay any longer and went toward the elevator.
Olivia stared blankly at her figure, looking perplexed.
She thought to herself, 'Nora's attitude is different from what I expected! Her boyfriend is cheating on her. Isn't she angry?'
‘Is she stupid?'
"Nora, aren't you angry? Quinn stole your man!" Olivia hurriedly caught up to her.
Nora pressed the elevator button and said, "If something can be taken away by someone else, then it proves that it doesn't belong to me. If she has the ability, then let her steal it!"
She knew Olivia was playing tricks, so Nora had just implied something to her.
The elevator arrived quickly, and Nora stepped inside.
As Olivia watched the elevator doors close, she stomped her foot in anger.
She thought to herself, 'Nora is such a weirdo! She found out that her man has a confidante, and she's not even angry? I was still waiting for the two of them to compete so that I could take advantage and win, Aaron!’
Since Nora wasn't angry, Olivia could only use all other means to seduce Aaron.
She hoped that Nora would remain calm when that time came!
Nora took the elevator to the CEO's office.
Along the way, she saw her employees respectfully calling her Mrs. Gordon.
Nora found it somewhat amusing and wasn't sure if she should respond.
She hadn't married Aaron yet.
It was too early to address her as Mrs. Gordon!
Inside the CEO's office, Aaron was sitting in a chair, looking at documents.
In a white shirt and a black vest, he looked as noble and distant as ever.
When Nora pushed the door open, he slightly raised his head and put down the documents.
"Are you finished talking?" he asked.
"Yes," Nora said as she sat down on the couch.
Aaron stood up and sat down next to her. "What did she talk to you about?" he asked, curiously.
Nora glanced at him, tilting her head and asking, "Why didn't you tell me that Olivia came to work here?"
Aaron reached out and toyed with her hand, and explained, "I just said it. In my eyes, she's just a clown. There was no need to tell you. But, if you don't like her, I can have her fired."
