Chapter 506 Call White Black
Suzy deliberately acted like this. She couldn't wait to tell Emma about Nora's illegitimate daughter's identity.
Suzy said, "Mom, you have to promise me that if I tell you the truth, you won't get agitated."
"Okay, I promise I won't get emotional," Emma assured and sat up straight, looking as if she was already prepared.
Suzy quietly revealed a smile, saying, "Actually, Nora is the love child of Dad and another woman. Dad had an affair with a married woman, and she gave birth to Nora. And that married woman looks a lot like Dad's first love!"
"What?!" Emma exclaimed and was extremely shocked, her lips even trembling.
"Nora is your dad's love child?" she repeated.
Suzy replied, "Yes, the situation is complex. Ultimately, Nora went back to the Hamilton family. However, her presence is a scandal for Dad and the Hamiltons.
"To preserve our reputation, Dad pressured you to agree to Nora returning as your long-lost daughter."
She added, "She's been the cause of numerous disputes between you and Dad. He always shields her, causing disruptions in my life as well.
"Because of Nora, I was compelled to marry Aaron's cousin, Jackson, leading to my divorce and career setbacks."
Suzy was twisting the truth, portraying Nora negatively.
As Emma listened to these words, her face kept changing. At this moment, she had a severe headache.
Seeing this, Suzy quickly said, "Mom, please calm down. If something happens to you, what will I do?" She pretended to squeeze out a tear.
Emma closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths, trying her best to stay calm.
"Don't cry. I'll calm down. Go and get me a glass of water," Emma said.
"Okay," Suzy answered, wiping away her nonexistent tears. She then got up to pour a glass of water for Emma, whose expression was grim. She took a sip of water and asked, "Suzy, is everything you said true?"
Suzy nodded and replied, "Yes, it is true."
Emma fell silent for a moment and confirmed, "Is Nora skilled in medicine? Did she cure Chloe's illness?"
Suzy knew that Emma had a soft spot for her foolish younger sister. If Nora had indeed cured Chloe, it would weaken Emma's resentment toward her.
Suzy's expression became strange, and then she said, "Yes, she is very skilled in medicine, which is why she is so arrogant at the Hamilton Manor."
She continued, "We get it. She's good at medicine, but is she coming back to the Hamilton family as your long-lost daughter? That's just not right. And now, she's getting all this praise.
"I wonder if it's because she reminds Dad of his first love, so he's all protective of her. He knows damn well how much you suffered when you lost your daughter back then. But does he care?
"He brushes off your objections and insists on parading her in front of you like this. Honestly, I don't think Dad gives a damn about you at all."
Suzy knew what Emma cared about and how to hit Emma's sore spots. She provoked without restraint, watching as Emma's face turned ashen, almost unable to bear it.
She let out a cold laugh but immediately followed with persuasion, advising, "Mom, please don't get agitated. Let's not talk about her anymore."
Emma closed her eyes, took another sip of water, and tried to calm her fluctuating emotions.
Emma remained silent, and Suzy, sitting beside her, didn't know what she was thinking, so she asked, "Mom, have you talked to Kenneth? Does he really want to keep that Jinx, Cora?"
Emma had been pondering Suzy's words. When she heard this, her face turned ugly again, rebutting, "How could I not talk to Kenneth? But he said that we would discuss his situation with that Jinx after I recovered from leukemia."
Suzy thought for a moment and declared, "Mom, I think Cora is deceiving Kenneth. When he says that, it's just a way to delay. He actually plans to protect Cora all along!
"And he's afraid that you will make things difficult for Cora; that's why he has already moved out to live with her."
"What! They have moved out to live together?" Emma asked and frowned deeply.
"Yes." Suzy said, "I don't understand what Kenneth is thinking. Cora is clearly a Jinx, and she even has ambiguous relationships with other men. I don't think the child in her belly is necessarily Kenneth's. But he doesn't seem to mind at all!"
When Emma heard this, she looked at Suzy and asked, "What did you say? She's pregnant?"
Suzy was stunned and asked, "Mom, don't you remember?"
"I don't remember." Emma's brow furrowed and explained, "Your dad said I seemed to have lost the memories of the past six months."
Suzy understood in her heart and continued to instigate, by saying, "She is indeed pregnant. But I always feel that there is something strange about this. You see, Cora used to date a man named Zephyr.
"Even after she got married, they stayed in contact. I have seen him look at Cora with deep affection more than once. Mom, I thought that she had deceived Kenneth."
After hearing this, Emma was extremely angry then she shouted, "How dare she do such a thing!"
Suzy urged, "Mom, Cora is a Jinx. We absolutely cannot let her stay by Kenneth's side, or she will bring us misfortune!"
Emma took a deep breath and then said coldly, "You're right. I must find a way to make her divorce Kenneth immediately."
Suzy continued to instigate, and said, "But Kenneth is protecting her. I think it will be difficult for you to get them to divorce. What is Kenneth thinking? Why does he want to keep a disloyal woman who is also a Jinx by his side?"
Emma's face darkened. She closed her eyes and tried to think of a way to make them divorce. But her headache was so severe that she couldn't think at all.
Suzy's face twisted into a malicious expression, and she inquired, "Mom, I have an idea to make them divorce."
Emma quickly opened her eyes and asked, "What is your idea?"
"We can sow discord in their relationship," she advised.
"Tell me more," Emma ordered.
Suzy leaned in and whispered in Emma's ear.
Nora received a message from Matthew as soon as she returned home.
Matthew: [Dr. Smith, I apologize for my recklessness. Please don't hold it against me, considering I'm on the verge of death.]
Nora smiled upon seeing the message.
Nora: [Mr. Jones, as long as you do as I say, you can survive.]
If he could find the cure, she could save him. Matthew still needs to respond to the message. Nora was curious to know if he didn't listen to her or if he needed time to consider.
Nora thought, 'I didn't think deep affection was a bad thing, but I believed in being practical. If his wife hadn't left him a child, he could naturally sacrifice himself for love. But he still had a child. Why was Matthew so persistent in matters of the heart?'
Suddenly, her phone rang with a video call request, startling Nora out of her thoughts.
She glanced at her phone.
It was Aaron's call. Nora tapped the answer button, and Aaron's handsome face appeared on the screen.
