Chapter 586 Handing Her Over to You
Rachel said, "They've just started dating, not married. Anything is possible; I will just go with the flow."
Linda frowned and said, "You can't just go with the flow. You need to snatch Mr. Howard away."
Rachel just smiled, not paying much attention to her words.
She said, "Alright. Stop staring at them. Go play with your friends."
Then she went to chat with her guests.
Linda watched Richard and Evella as they were chatting. She found that the more she looked at Evella, the more she disliked her.
She walked towards a few friends. "Hello, everyone. Could you do me a favor?"
Evella and Richard were getting along well.
Evella felt Richard was very kind.
He felt like a relative to her.
Perhaps because she didn't have a father since she was young, she found him particularly familiar.
After chatting for a while, Richard put down the plate.
"Evella, as much as the desserts are delicious, try not to overindulge," Richard said.
"Okay. I understand." Evella obediently put down the plate.
"Then you enjoy yourself; I'll go greet the host."
"Alright. Richard, go ahead."
After they got to know each other better, they changed how they addressed each other.
After Richard left, Evella looked around but couldn't find Nora. So she decided to find a place to sit for a while.
At that moment, two women approached her with glasses of wine in hand.
As they were about to reach her, one of them stumbled, spilling the wine on Evella.
"Sorry, sorry, I didn't hold it steady," the woman quickly apologized.
Evella was wearing a white dress with a dark jacket over it.
The wine spilled all over her white dress, quickly turning it red.
Evella looked down, frowning at the large stain on her chest.
She glanced up, one of the women looking apologetic, the other holding a tissue ready to help wipe off the wine stains on her.
They seemed familiar, probably students from Lindwood University.
Evella remained silent, refusing their help.
"I'm sorry. Evella, I've stained your clothes. I'll go borrow an outfit from Rachel for you to change into," one woman said.
The other continued, "Yes, you go find Rachel for clothes; I'll take Evella to the lounge on the second floor."
She took Evella's arm and said, "Evella, let's go. We can stay at the lounge for a while."
Before Evella could respond, she was led to the second floor.
In the living room on the first floor of the villa, Richard was talking to Ross.
Inadvertently, he saw a woman leading Evella upstairs.
"Richard, how long do you plan to stay this time?" Ross asked.
Richard snapped back and replied, "I might stay a bit longer this time."
"Are you planning to stay in the country to accompany your mother?"
"Yes. My mother only has me left, so I want to spend more time with her."
Ross sighed and said, "Zack's death is truly regrettable. He wasn't even married, with no descendants."
Richard took a sip of his coffee, remaining silent.
His gaze unconsciously shifted to the second floor.
He saw Linda leading a young man of similar age upstairs.
He squinted, lost in thought.
Evella was led into a room by the woman.
It was a suite with a bed and a bathroom.
The woman who went to borrow clothes from Rachel was already inside.
Evella glanced at her and asked, "Where are the clothes?"
"Do you want clothes?" The woman gave a sinister smile.
The other woman who came in with Evella suddenly grabbed her arms and urged the woman in front, "Hurry."
Evella was startled, struggling. "What are you trying to do?"
The woman in front of her now had a handkerchief in hand, and despite her struggles, she covered Evella's mouth and nose.
Evella sensed a pungent smell at her nose.
Soon after, she passed out.
Looking at the unconscious Evella on the ground, they exchanged glances, smiling triumphantly.
At that moment, the door was pushed open, and Linda walked in with a young man.
"Simon, she's all yours now. We'll call people in later," Linda said.
She patted Simon's shoulder.
Simon looked down at the unconscious Evella on the ground, hesitating for a moment.
"Now everyone knows that Evella is Howard's girlfriend. If I offend her, I'll offend the Hamilton family," he said.
Linda replied, "Simon, don't overthink it. Emma from the Hamilton family doesn't like Evella. She likes Rachel. So, whether Evella can marry into the Hamilton family is uncertain."
"I'm not asking you to really harm her. I'm giving you an opportunity to be her savior!"
"Provided that you administer CPR to her upon our arrival, you'll be her lifesaver. However, to those unacquainted with the situation, it may appear as if you've violated her."
"The Remington family is prestigious, and they have a reputation to uphold. They'll have to marry her off to you. And with the Remington family backing you, your half-brother won't dare to plot against you in secret or bully you anymore."
Upon hearing this persuasive talk, Simon felt like he had been struck at his weak spot.
He lived in a blended family with three elder brothers, and he was the child of his parents in later years, so they doted on him.
His half-brother from his father's side feared losing the inheritance to him, so he often made things difficult for him in secret.
His other two brothers encouraged him to vie for the inheritance.
So, he needed a powerful ally.
Marrying a good wife would be the greatest help for him.
The Remington family was one of the top families in Lindwood City. If he married Evella, he wouldn't fear his brother anymore.
His father would surely grant him the inheritance!
Simon nodded and said, "Alright. You can leave now."
Seeing his resolve, Linda smiled, leaving the room with the two women.
Simon looked at Evella, slowly crouching down. He swallowed hard and began to undress her.
On the lawn, Linda and the two women were all excited.
"Linda, let's get more people upstairs now."
"I'll start a live broadcast later, then we'll put Evella in the headlines. I'll say she has two boyfriends, playing with Mr. Howard's feelings."
"Isn't that a bit too much? Simon is innocent."
"We have to make it a grave matter, so that the Remington family will feel embarrassed and quickly marry Evella to Simon. We're helping him!"
