Chapter 91 Winning Mom Over

Nora and Aaron eyed the group of dark-clothed figures converging outside their window with an eerily similar chill in their expressions.

When the assailants outside saw one of their own get injured, they got wise and began jabbing toward the car with iron rods.

Ducking the blows, Nora with a knife and Aaron with a needle elicited fresh screams from their would-be attackers.

For a moment, the assailants hovered around, cursing under their breath, yet none dared to step closer.

Suddenly, the stuttering sound of helicopter blades filled the air.

The gusting wind whirled leaves into a blinding haze.

The thugs swayed, struggling to stabilize themselves against the fierce wind that shielded their faces in surprise.

A private chopper landing here? What were the odds?

As the helicopter touched down, several burly men disembarked and charged toward them.

"We're Mr. Wyat's men, and I dare anyone to touch the people who saved Mr. Wyat's life!"

It turned out reinforcements had arrived for the pair in the car!

These ruffians, familiar with the underworld, flinched at the mention of Mr. Wyat's name.

Seeing the newcomers armed and ready, they exchanged glances and decided to beat a hasty retreat.

Inside the car, Nora breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the leader of the newcomers.

At the crucial moment, Mr. Wyat's men had arrived just in time.

"Thomas, are you alright?" Nora asked with concern.

Aaron gazed deeply at Nora. "I'm fine."

Once again, she had come to his aid!

He had once said he was her lucky star. But wasn’t she just as much his?

"Mr. Gordon, Nora, are you both okay?"

Frederick opened Aaron's door, concern etched on his face.

"We're okay."

Aaron reassured him and gestured for Frederick to retrieve the wheelchair from the trunk.

Stepping out of the car, Nora gave the leader a grateful smile. "Jimmy, thanks for coming."

Adversity had made them acquaintances; these were the same men who had once kidnapped Nora.

They all nodded at Nora with utmost respect.

"No worries, Nora."

Jimmy waved it off, glancing at the damaged car in front. "Where were you headed? Your car's seen better days. Need a ride?"

Nora looked over at Aaron, now seated in his wheelchair. "We're heading to Bescosarst."

"Then take Mr. Wyat's private chopper. Leave the car to us," Jimmy offered generously.

Nora turned to Aaron, leaving the decision to him.

Aaron gave Jimmy a nod. "Alright, you work for Mr. Wyat, right? Tell him I said thanks when you get back."

"Don't mention it. Nora saved Mr. Wyat's life once, and he said he'd do anything for her," Jimmy said.

Aaron gave Nora a deep look. "Nora, you've really come through for me."

"It sure seems like it."

As they were talking, Edric's entourage arrived.

"Aaron, sorry I'm late. Is everything okay?" Edric jumped out of his car and hustled over.

Aaron gave him a cool glance. "If I were waiting for you to save me, I'd be cooling my heels in hell already."

Edric looked Aaron up and down, saw that he was unharmed, and let out a sigh of relief.

"Aaron, that's not fair. You're one of the good guys. If you were gone, I'd have to search heaven for you, not hell!"

Nora couldn't help but burst into laughter.

That's when Edric turned to Nora, his mischievous eyes twinkling. "Nora, I'm right, aren't I?"

Trying to stifle her laughter, Nora wasn't sure whether to nod or shake her head.

Aaron glared at Edric. "Are you joking now? We only got out of this because Nora called in Mr. Wyat's guys for backup, and that made the attackers flee. Get on it and find out who's after me."

Hearing this, Edric's smirk faded somewhat, and he nodded, acknowledging the task.

Jimmy chimed in, "Those guys must be from the mob. I'll report back to Mr. Wyat when I return, and we can help dig into this."

Aaron's eyebrow quirked up. "If that's the case, that would be ideal."

"Aaron, are you heading to Bescosarst on business?" Edric glanced at Nora before asking.

Aaron nodded.

"Lucky you, business with a beauty in tow," Edric teased with a roguish grin.

Aaron shot him a look but remained silent.

Edric turned to Nora with a playful smile. "Nora, with you taking care of Aaron on this trip, make sure you look after him thoroughly, inside and out."

His words carried an insinuating undertone.

Nora glanced at Aaron, gave a sheepish smile, and then turned to Jimmy. "Jimmy, please thank Mr. Wyat for us, and we'll take up the offer to use your plane."

"Sure thing, have a safe flight," Jimmy said with a hearty laugh, watching them board the aircraft.

At Mont International Kindergarten.

Noe drove up to the entrance, waiting to pick up the three children.

Soon after, the gates swung open, and the three kids came out in line, joining the stream of students leaving.

"Hey, Noe, is Mr. Gordon picking us up again today?" Samantha spotted Noe and asked with a smile.

Noe ruffled her hair and looked up at his three kids, saying, "Just me today, kids. Mr. Gordon and your mom are away on a business trip."

The trio looked at him with surprise.

"Noe, where did they go for the business trip?" Alex inquired.

"They headed to Bescosarst," Noe replied.

Samantha pouted, feeling a bit upset. "Why does Mr. Gordon only take Mom with him on trips and never us?"

"Noe, if they went to Bescosarst, is that because Mr. Gordon has business there, and Mom's going along to help with his treatment?" Billy guessed.

Noe nodded quickly. "Exactly. Mr. Gordon needs to continue his leg treatments, which is why your mom went with him."

"I see."

Samantha finally understood, her head drooping slightly. "Then I won't see Mr. Gordon or Mom tonight. I miss them already."

The little one's face fell, and she looked like she might cry any second.

Billy's eyes twinkled as he tried to cheer her up. "Hey, haven't you always wanted to set Mr. Gordon and Mom up? This is the perfect chance! They're away together, just like a date; they're bound to get closer!"

A spark lit up in Samantha's eyes. "Right! Okay, I won't be sad anymore. Mr. Gordon better step it up and win Mom's heart!"

At the Water Paradise Hotel in Bescosarst, Aaron, Nora, and Frederick arrived seamlessly and entered the hotel lobby.

Aaron checked the time on his phone and dialed Noe's number.

"Noe, we've made it to the hotel. Did you pick up the kids?" Aaron asked.

Hearing this, Nora looked at him intently.

"Mr. Gordon, I've got them, and we just got home," Noe replied respectfully.

Aaron glanced at Nora. "Start a video call; let Nora talk to the kids first."
