Chapter 855 Nora Loves a Rough Husband Like Me
Aaron laughed, "Honey, do you enjoy playing matchmaker so much?"
Nora's eyes curved with a smile. "I wonder if those two have made any progress?"
Aaron glanced at the time and said, "I'll call Noe later to ask."
Sympathy flashed in Nora's eyes, sighing, "Poor Noe, always at your beck and call."
Aaron raised an eyebrow and said, "It means he's the one I trust the most."
Nora chuckled. "If I were him, I wouldn't want that kind of trust."
Aaron added, "No, if you were him, you'd definitely want my trust and to follow my lead."
"Why?"
"Because I'm charming."
Nora burst into laughter and said, "Aaron, could you be more shameless?"
Aaron raised an eyebrow. His large hand slipped under her clothes, and his fingertips gently caressed her smooth skin.
"Am I wrong, honey? Am I not charming? Haven't you fallen for me?"
"Yes, yes, yes."
Afraid he would get carried away, Nora quickly agreed.
Aaron chuckled softly, enjoying messing around with her.
The two of them cuddled in the car, and soon, the car arrived at their destination.
Frederick parked the car and got out to ring the doorbell.
"Alright, we're here."
Nora pushed Aaron away, tidying up the clothes he had messed up.
Aaron composed himself, returning to his usual aloof demeanor, and helped her fix her hair as they waited for someone to open the door.
Soon, the door slowly opened.
Frederick got back in the car and drove it inside.
Nora thought about how Aaron and Mateo almost got into a fight last night, her eyes flickering.
"Aaron, when we go in, no matter what Mateo says, don't get angry. Don't stoop to that kid's level."
Aaron's expression turned cold, saying, "He's not a kid anymore."
Nora teased, "Weren't you the one who said he's still a kid?"
Aaron glanced at her and said, "As long as he no longer holds unrealistic beliefs about you, I won't stoop to his level."
Nora found it amusing and didn't say anything more.
Once the car stopped in the garden, they got out.
Mateo was already waiting at the door.
His gaze fell on Nora, eyes burning.
"Nora, you're here."
Nora glanced at him and said, "Call me Dr. Smith."
Mateo chuckled but didn't comply, calling out again, "Nora."
In no mood for jokes, Nora shifted the topic.
"How's Florence today?"
"She looks much better. hiccups have reduced by half, and she can eat a small bowl of food."
Mateo reported the situation to Nora.
Nora nodded and said, "Let's go, I'll go upstairs to check on her."
"Alright, please." Mateo gestured for her to follow him.
Aaron's face was cold; watching Mateo's cheerful expression, he wanted to hit him.
"Honey, I'll go with you."
He reached out and pulled Nora close to him.
Mateo paused, looking at the two of them snuggled together, grinding his teeth.
"Mr. Gordon, you shouldn't go up. Florence is a female patient, and it would be inconvenient if she needs to undress."
"I won't interfere with her treatment. I'll wait outside the door."
Aaron, without further ado, led Nora upstairs.
Nora found it amusing, knowing Aaron was jealous, but she didn't say anything, letting him hold her as they went upstairs.
Mateo's face darkened, taking a deep breath as he followed them upstairs.
In the room, Florence was sitting on the bed, waiting for Nora.
She looked much better than yesterday, and the slant of her mouth had also improved.
Seeing Nora come in, she quickly greeted her respectfully.
"Hello, Dr. Smith."
"She's greeting you," Mateo explained.
Nora smiled slightly, walked to the bedside, and sat down, preparing to check her pulse.
"Mr. Gordon, you can leave now."
Mateo didn't forget to ask Aaron to leave.
"What's the rush?"
Aaron's expression was indifferent, still standing by without moving.
Mateo sneered. "Mr. Gordon, you do have thick skin."
Aaron didn't respond; he just kept his eyes on Nora.
Nora found their conversation amusing but didn't say anything, starting to check Florence's pulse.
Soon, she finished and asked Florence a few questions.
Mateo translated on the side.
Florence answered truthfully.
Nora had made up her mind and said to Mateo, "Continue giving her the medicine I prescribed. I'll treat for the next two days, and she shouldn't need it after that."
Hearing this, a gleam of light flashed in Mateo's eyes.
"Do you mean she'll be fully recovered soon?"
Nora said, "Keep giving her the medicine I prescribed. I'll give her acupuncture for the next two days, and then she should be good to go."
He searched her face, his gaze intense, his voice husky with feeling. "Nora," he breathed, "I don't even know where to begin to thank you."
Nora took out her medical kit, preparing for the treatment.
"I'm not treating you, so what are you thanking me for?"
Mateo chuckled, watching Nora busy herself, his gaze never leaving her.
Aaron, seeing Mateo's eyes glued to Nora, his face darkened, his gaze cold as ice.
Nora seemed to sense it, glanced at the two of them, and said, "You both should leave. I'm going to start the treatment."
Mateo glanced at Aaron. Catching his murderous look, Mateo grinned, eyes full of provocation.
Once they were out of the room, Mateo said, "Mr. Gordon, are you so insecure about Nora that you have to follow her everywhere? Are you afraid she'll fall for someone else? So your relationship isn't that strong after all?"
Aaron's face extremely darken, suddenly grabbing Mateo by the neck and slamming him against the wall with a bang.
"Mateo, I'm not interested in playing games, so please stop your moves, or one day I will get you in trouble !"
Aaron's tone was icy and chilling, like a messenger from hell.
Mateo's face turned red from the chokehold, but he showed no fear.
When Aaron let go, he rubbed his neck and coughed twice.
"Mr. Gordon, you're so rough. I wonder what Nora sees in you."
Aaron coldly laughed and said, "Nora loves a rough husband like me."
Mateo was at a loss for words. "Mr. Gordon, you are shameless. Did you pester Nora relentlessly when you pursued her?"
Aaron's lips curled into a cold smile, saying, "You don't need to learn from me because in this world, only I can win her heart."
Mateo sneered. "Arrogant. If only I had met her earlier..."
Aaron suddenly turned his head, his gaze sharp enough to kill.
Mateo smiled and said, "Mr. Gordon, I see your anxiety. Deep down, you're scared, aren't you?"
Aaron coldly laughed. "Mateo, remember this: her body and heart belong only to me now."
Mateo raised an eyebrow and continued, "Really? She may belong to you now, but who knows about the future? Even if you're married, you can still get divorced."
