Chapter 841 She and He Were Truly in Love
Aaron's words dripped with honey.
Nora playfully scolded, "Sweet talker."
Aaron chuckled. "I'm serious."
Nora lightly punched his firm chest, feeling a sweet warmth in her heart.
She naturally trusted Aaron.
Just as he trusted her.
She was just curious about what Gabriella looked like.
Aaron was so charming.
Even if he didn't flirt, that didn't stop others from trying to seduce him.
At this moment, Aaron was thinking about Mateo.
A man's intuition made him feel that Mateo seemed to have a different attitude towards Nora.
Even though Nora didn't intend to seek attention, that didn't stop others from trying to get close to her.
Both of them were lost in their thoughts as the car soon turned a corner and entered a quiet alley.
Then it stopped in front of a house.
The gate slowly opened to both sides, and Mateo's car drove in.
They had arrived.
Nora looked out of the window at the slightly exotic building, constantly glancing around.
Soon, the car stopped in the middle of the courtyard, and Mateo got out.
Aaron and Nora also got out of the car.
"Please."
Mateo made a gesture of invitation.
As dusk fell, Mateo's expression became more serious and less playful.
Nora and Aaron followed him into the house.
It was a small two-story house, not very large, but clean and tidy.
The lights were bright, and a servant in her thirties greeted them respectfully.
Mateo exchanged a few words with her, and the servant then bowed respectfully to Nora and Aaron.
"This is Florence's home, and this is Florence's daughter, Lila Schmidt. Mr. Gordon, please wait here for a moment. Dr. Smith, please follow me upstairs."
Nora nodded and glanced at Aaron. "Wait for me."
Aaron responded with a hum and elegantly sat down on the sofa.
Lila quickly poured him some coffee.
Nora followed Mateo upstairs.
They arrived at a room, and Mateo pushed the door open.
"Florence, I brought the doctor to see you," Mateo said.
At this moment, Florence was leaning against the bed.
Her mouth was slightly crooked, and she trembled as she reached out her hand, a hint of apology in her eyes.
Mateo strode to the bedside and held her hand.
"Don't worry, Dr. Smith is a famous doctor. She will definitely help you recover."
A glimmer of tears appeared in Florence's eyes. She looked at Mateo, wanting to say something but unable to.
These were signs of a stroke.
Nora quickly assessed the situation and said to Mateo, "Mateo, please step aside."
"Okay."
Mateo gave Florence a reassuring look, then stepped aside and brought a chair for Nora.
Nora sat down and checked Florence.
Florence seemed weak, and she would occasionally hiccup.
Nora's expression became serious. After taking the pulse, she began to examine Florence's body.
She found that Florence's left leg was weak, her tongue was cold, but she was sweating continuously.
Florence's condition was indeed complicated.
No wonder Mateo had consulted so many doctors to no avail.
Nora had a conclusion in her mind and asked, "How is her bowel movement usually?"
Mateo quickly replied, "Frequent urination, urgency, and bloating. Her stools are dry at first and then loose, sometimes constipated."
Nora nodded, paused for a moment, and said, "Her condition is quite complex."
A hint of anxiety flashed in Mateo's eyes.
"Dr. Smith, is there no way to cure her?"
Nora met his worried and anxious gaze and said, "No, she can be cured."
Her tone was firm, and Mateo's eyes lit up. He grabbed Nora's hand, a hint of excitement in his eyes.
"Really, that's great. I knew you could cure her."
Mateo's hand was dry and warm.
He held Nora's hand tightly as if grasping a lifeline.
Nora understood his feelings and said, "Let go. Do you not want me to treat her or not?"
Mateo quickly let go, his eyes burning, saying, "Sorry, I got too excited."
Nora didn't mind and said, "She has phlegm in her body, which is causing the blockage. I'll write a prescription. Have someone get the medicine first to clear the phlegm."
"Okay."
"Do you have a pen and paper?"
"Yes."
Mateo quickly fetched a pen and paper.
Nora wrote the prescription and handed it to him.
Mateo immediately sent someone to get the medicine as quickly as possible.
Then, Nora began needling for Florence.
Seeing the long row of injection needles, Florence was naturally scared due to unfamiliarity.
Nora comforted her, "Don't be afraid. It will feel a bit sore during the treatment, but just bear with it."
Mateo translated for her, and Florence trembled as she nodded.
"You should go out."
Nora asked Mateo to wait outside. After he left, she began to inject into Florence's hand.
Half an hour later, Mateo's subordinate returned with the medicine.
Mateo knocked on the door and said, "Dr. Smith, the medicine is here."
Nora had just finished the treatment. She opened the door and said, "I'll go prepare the medicine. Stay here and watch her. If she feels any discomfort, notify me immediately."
"Okay."
Mateo agreed and asked Lila to take Nora to the kitchen.
Looking at Florence on the bed, he softly said, "The doctor said she can cure you."
A glimmer of light appeared in Florence's old eyes, and she nodded slightly.
"Do you want some water?" Mateo asked.
Florence nodded again.
Mateo took a cup and poured her some water.
As he glanced around, he saw a small bear keychain on the floor.
Mateo was stunned and bent down to pick it up.
This keychain should belong to Nora.
Mateo helped Florence drink some water, then told her he would be right back and turned to return the keychain to Nora.
Downstairs, Aaron was waiting for Nora.
Seeing her come down, he stood up and asked, "Done?"
"Not yet; I'm going to the kitchen to prepare the medicine."
"I'll go with you."
Nora blinked and smiled. "You want to come with me? The medicine smells bad."
Aaron raised an eyebrow and leaned closer, his tone ambiguous.
"No problem, my honey smells good."
Nora, afraid he would be inappropriate, quickly said, "Stop it, we're in someone else's house."
Aaron knew his limits and was just teasing her.
He wrapped his long arm around Nora's waist, saying, "Don't worry, your man isn't that foolish. Let's go."
The two of them went to the kitchen together.
At the staircase, Mateo watched their intimate backs and slowly clenched the keychain in his hand.
They were really in love.
His mood suddenly dropped, and he turned back to the room instead of going downstairs.
In the kitchen, Aaron accompanied Nora as she prepared the medicine.
Nora asked him to wait downstairs while she took the bowl of medicine upstairs to give to Florence.
After drinking the bowl of medicine, Florence soon vomited several mouthfuls of phlegm.
Mateo was a bit panicked and wanted to ask something, but seeing Nora's calm demeanor, he swallowed his words.
