Chapter 638 Persuaded

Seraphina remained silent. She agreed with Aaron's words. But Elara was her sister, and she always respected her.

Aaron wasn't in the mood to discuss this with Seraphina; he was anxious to see Nora.

"Where is my girlfriend now?" he asked.

Seraphina replied, "I sent her to see the tribal chief; she should be with the sick Ruth now."

She had sent Nora to find Deborah.

Aaron glanced at her and inquired, "Why did you send my girlfriend to see your tribal chief?"

Seraphina lowered her eyes slightly and said, "In Lumirians, only the tribal chief can control Elara. She will listen to the chief."

Aaron's eyes flickered. "So, are you planning to let me go?"

Seraphina remained silent, which Aaron took as consent.

Aaron looked deeply at her and said, "Seraphina, it's clear to me that you are a good girl. If I can leave here, you can come find me whenever you want to explore the outside world."

Upon hearing this, Seraphina suddenly looked up, a glint of hope in her eyes.

"Can I?" she asked.

From childhood, Seraphina had seen many outsiders come here and heard many stories about the outside world from them.

She had yearned to live outside and see the landscapes beyond the mountains. But it had only been a dream for Seraphina. Because she never had the opportunity to leave.

And now, Aaron said he could help her. This reignited the longing hidden in her heart.

"You and Elara are my saviors. As long as you don't make me stay and marry Elara, I agree to any other conditions you have," Aaron noticed Seraphina's interest and added, "Do you have paper and pen? I'll leave you my contact information."

"Yes." Seraphina quickly fetched a pen and paper and handed them to Aaron.

Aaron wrote his name and phone number on the paper and handed it to her.

Seraphina took the paper, silently noting down the firm strokes of the pen.

She was inexplicably looking forward to the fact that she would really have a chance to find him in the future.

Aaron, observing her calm face, asked tentatively, "Seraphina, can you let me go find my girlfriend now? I'm worried about her."

Seraphina came back to reality, folded the paper carefully, and tucked it into her pocket.

She said, "Don't go. Your body hasn't fully recovered; it's not advisable to move around."

Aaron's brown eyes darkened. "Seraphina, is it because my body hasn't recovered yet or because you're afraid to let me go?"

Seraphina remained silent, her gaze flickering, clearly indicating the latter reason.

Aaron pursed his lips lightly and said, "Seraphina, it's understandable that you follow Elara's orders. But people need to have a sense of right and wrong, not to be blindly loyal. I believe you don't agree with Elara this time."

"You are human, not a machine. Humans have thoughts and can think. Since you have thoughts, you should distinguish right from wrong and follow the direction you believe in."

Aaron's voice was low and carried a convincing force.

Seraphina raised her eyes slightly, looking into Aaron's deep, dark eyes, seemingly drawn in.

Having immersed himself in the business world for years, Aaron naturally exuded a compelling aura. Under his gentle persuasion, Seraphina gradually began to waver.

After a moment, she nodded and said, "I'll take you to find your girlfriend."

Seraphina was persuaded!

Aaron felt a slight joy in his heart and said sincerely, "Thank you."

Seraphina shook her head and went to help him off the bed.

Aaron had been here for a while, but this was the first time he had ventured downstairs.

He felt a sense of joy as if he had finally escaped a cage.

Downstairs, several burly men stood guard.

They had intended to stop Aaron from leaving, but with Seraphina present, they had to step aside.

With Seraphina's support, Aaron stepped out the door, breathing in the fresh air outside, feeling a sense of liberation.

He thought, 'Nora, wait for me!'

'I'm coming to meet you!'

In the makeshift operating room, Nora and a team of medical staff had been in surgery for three hours and were still operating.

Elara was also there, quietly and shockingly watching Nora perform the surgery herself.

She no longer doubted Nora's medical skills. Because Nora's techniques were so skilled and innovative. It was awe-inspiring.

Elara had no time to think about anything else; she focused on learning Nora's techniques, trying to memorize them, and pushing all distractions out of her mind.

Outside the operating room, Noe and a few others were waiting with Alex and Erin.

Deborah brought in benches for them to sit on and served tea.

Kimberly sat nearby, occasionally glancing at Alex with curiosity.

This boy was fair-skinned and handsome! Even more attractive than the children here!

Could he stay and keep her company?

Unaware that he had caught someone's eye, Alex sat quietly, taking out his tablet to work on the assignments the teacher had assigned.

Erin sat beside him, looking at the questions.

When she encountered a question she didn't understand, she tugged at Alex's sleeve.

Without a word, Alex understood her, and he began to explain the questions to Erin.

Kimberly hadn't heard Erin speak and was now curious, asking, "Is she mute?"

Upon hearing this, Alex glanced at her, furrowed his brows slightly, then looked away. He said, "Erin isn't mute; she can speak."

Kimberly tilted her head and asked, "Then why doesn't she speak?"

Alex replied, "Because she doesn't like to talk."

Kimberly blinked and muttered to herself, "Are there people who don't like to talk? Are you two siblings? You don't look alike."

Alex ignored her and continued to work on the questions with Erin.

At that moment, Aaron's voice sounded nearby. "Alex."

The voice was so familiar that Alex looked up immediately, excitement evident on his previously impassive face.

"Uncle Aaron!" Alex said. He stood up and ran towards Aaron with his short legs.

Erin's eyes also lit up, and she followed.

Noe and Frederick were equally excited.

"Mr. Gordon, it's so good to see you. Are you okay?" Noe asked.

"I'm fine. Where is Nora?" Aaron patted Alex's head, looking around.

"Mr. Gordon, don't worry. Dr. Smith is fine; she's currently in surgery helping someone," Noe explained.

Nora was fine. Aaron felt a bit relieved and noticed Deborah looking his way.

After confirming Deborah's identity with Noe, he approached her and nodded slightly, saying, "Hello, chief."

Deborah looked Aaron up and down, seeing his imposing and dignified appearance, and understood something.

No wonder Elara insisted on keeping Aaron here.

He did look quite handsome!

"Are you Dr. Smith's boyfriend?" Deborah asked.

"That's me," Aaron replied.

"Dr. Smith is busy; please wait a moment," Deborah said.

"Okay." Aaron didn't say much and sat down next to Alex with Noe's help.
