Chapter 931 Where's Your Destined One
Since Becky became an actress, she's gotten better at reading people.
She noticed Billy looking down and asked, "Billy, you seem upset. Is someone bullying you at school?"
Billy, surprised, shook his head. "No."
"Then why are you unhappy?" Becky pressed.
Before Billy could answer, Samantha sighed, "It's because Millie isn't here."
So that was it.
Becky teased, "Billy, do you miss Millie?"
Billy stayed silent.
Samantha pouted, swinging her legs. "I miss Millie too. Alex left, Millie left, and now Billy and I are bored. Mom, when will you bring Millie back?"
Nora looked at Billy and Samantha, unsure what to say.
Billy muttered, "She probably won't come back."
Samantha frowned. "But Millie never said she wouldn't come back."
They often video chatted, and Millie never said she wouldn't return, but she didn't say she would either.
"That's her hometown; she probably won't come back," Billy said.
"Oh, okay," Samantha said, lowering her head.
The mood turned gloomy.
To lighten things up, Becky joked, "Nora, what are you going to do? Your daughter-in-law ran away."
Nora smiled. "As long as there's love, distance isn't a problem."
Becky chuckled. "True."
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Isn't it a bit early to talk about love?"
Becky laughed, teasing Billy. "Not really, Aaron. Look at Billy; he looks heartbroken."
Billy blushed. "Aunt Becky, don't tease me. I'm just worried Millie might get bullied."
Becky laughed harder. "Then why are you blushing? Are you shy?"
Billy protested, "Mom, Great-Grandma!"
Carter laughed. "Alright, Becky, stop teasing Billy."
Becky grinned. "See, now Billy isn't down anymore, right?"
Everyone laughed.
Becky then looked at Samantha. "Samantha, where's your destined one?"
Samantha blinked. "What's a destined one?"
"Your future husband," Becky explained.
"Right here," Michael, sitting next to Samantha, said.
Becky burst out laughing. "No, Michael, you're a relative; you can't marry her."
Michael looked disappointed. "Really?"
Becky turned to Nora. "Wait, Nora, I'm not related to you by blood, right?"
Nora shrugged. "True. Should I lock down Michael as my son-in-law?"
"Sure," Becky said.
Aaron laughed. "What are you talking about? Lucas and I are siblings."
Becky glanced at Lucas. "What a pity."
Nora laughed. "Becky, are you pregnant?"
Becky was surprised. "No, why?"
"Because you're acting silly!" Nora teased.
Becky threw a napkin at her. "You just love to laugh at me!"
In Lindwood City, Gabriella went to Aaron's company, but the secretary said he had gone back to Youston.
Gabriella's smile faded.
Since Aaron had gone, she didn't want to stick around.
Just as she was about to leave, Johnnie walked in.
Seeing Gabriella, his eyes lit up. He approached her. "Here to see Mr. Gordon?"
Gabriella's eyes shifted, and she seductively touched his chest. "Yeah, came under the guise of work to see my boyfriend. Miss me, honey?"
Johnnie, still stirred from their recent encounter, blushed and pulled her hand away. "Don't mess around; this is a workplace."
Gabriella laughed and pinched his face. "You're so serious. Fine, I'm leaving."
As she turned to go, Johnnie quickly said, "I'm going on a business trip today."
Gabriella tilted her head. "Where to?"
"Bescosarst."
So, not Youston. Gabriella felt a twinge of disappointment. "Got it. Be safe. I'm leaving."
Watching her go, Johnnie swallowed the words he wanted to say. He had wanted to ask if she wanted to join him in Bescosarst, but her demeanor suggested otherwise.
Gabriella left the company, checked flight info on her phone, and a glint flashed in her eyes. She dialed Nora's number.
"Nora, are you busy?"
"Not really, what's up?"
"I just started dating Johnnie and wanted to buy him some clothes. Can you come shopping with me?"
Gabriella's tone was straightforward, but her eyes lacked warmth.
"Sorry, I'm not in Lindwood City," Nora said.
"Where are you?" Gabriella asked, feigning surprise.
"I went back to Youston."
Gabriella smirked. She knew it. "I've never been to Youston. Can I visit?"
"Sure."
"Great, wait for me."
Nora was at the villa in Star River Bay. After dinner, Carter, being older, got tired and went for a nap. Becky had a schedule, so Lucas took her to the company. Aaron had work, so he went to the office. Billy and Samantha were napping too. Only Nora was left in the living room.
Gabriella's call surprised her. This Gabriella was really proactive.
Nora sent Aaron a message: [Gabriella just said she's coming to Youston.]
Aaron was probably busy and didn't reply. Soon, Gabriella sent her flight info. Nora blinked, thinking, 'Is she asking me to pick her up?' She sent an OK emoji.
Just then, Jenny texted, asking what she was up to. They hadn't contacted each other since returning to Youston. Nora sent a selfie.
Jenny quickly called. "Nora, are you in Youston?"
Nora smiled. "Yes."
"Come out and meet up," Jenny said.
"Don't you have work?" Nora asked.
"I can sneak out."
Nora teased, "That's true. You're the hostess at Galactic Media now; no one dares say anything."
Jenny laughed. "Come out and chat."
