Chapter 605 The Great Change in Temperament

"Aaron, they are just clothes; why are you so particular?" Nora frowned and spoke up for Frederick.

Aaron glanced at her, his expression softening. He said, "Darling, you are right; I won't be particular with Frederick."

When Nora heard Aaron call her 'darling' again, she felt a shiver down her spine.

"Then change your clothes; we'll wait for you outside," Nora said.

Aaron looked at Nora and said, "Darling, won't you help me change?"

"You didn't hurt your hands and feet, right?" Nora said. She didn't feel like dealing with Aaron, so she replied to him and then went outside with Frederick and Johnnie.

The three of them stood outside in silence.

Nora glanced at Frederick and apologized, "Frederick, Aaron might have hit his head and got a bit temperamental due to the airflow, so please forgive him."

Frederick reassured her quickly. But he found it a bit strange.

Aaron, who had been in a car accident, seemed completely different now. He was always cold but upright in the past.

"Alright, let's go." Aaron came out after changing his clothes.

Frederick hurried over to support him.

Aaron waved his hand. "I don't need your help." He refused Frederick's help and turned to Nora. "Darling, come here and support me."

Upon hearing his voice, Nora's shivers returned. She said, "Aaron, can you stop calling me darling? It's too cheesy."

Aaron raised an eyebrow and said, "Fine, Nora, come and support me quickly."

Nora was about to walk over to support him when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach.

She frowned, calculated the time, and realized her period was approaching.

She said, "Let Frederick support you; my stomach hurts a bit."

Aaron was taken aback and jokingly said, "Stomach ache. Nora, Stop pretending; you just don't want to support me; come over quickly."

With that, he pulled Nora into his arms without hesitation, his long arms resting on her shoulders, gently caressing her.

Nora's frown deepened.

Nora pushed Aaron's hand away, saying, "I'm going to the restroom, Frederick. You and Johnnie should support Mr. Gordon outside first."

Aaron stumbled, and his temperament changed drastically.

In the past, if Nora had said her stomach hurt, Aaron would have definitely asked her what was wrong.

But now, he thought she was just pretending.

Nora pursed her lips and entered the restroom, closing the door behind her. She noticed a bit of red on her underwear.

Indeed, her period was approaching. No wonder her stomach felt uncomfortable.

Nora rummaged through her bag and thankfully found a spare sanitary pad in a compartment.

She placed it in her underwear, tidied up her clothes, and left the restroom.

At the hospital entrance, Frederick, Johnnie, and Aaron were waiting for her.

Seeing Nora coming out, Aaron quickly approached her and said, "Is your stomach really hurting?"

Aaron's concerned gaze made Nora suppress her doubts once again.

She replied softly, thinking, 'I might have been too sensitive.'

Actually, Aaron would occasionally act a bit crazy.

"Why did your stomach suddenly start hurting? Shall I massage it for you?" Aaron reached out to pull her, but Nora instinctively dodged.

"No need, Frederick. Is the plane still on the tarmac?" Nora said.

"Yes," Frederick replied.

"It's getting late, let's go."

"Alright."

Frederick went to support Aaron.

Aaron squinted, watching Nora's figure, a mysterious smile playing on his lips.

The group boarded a private plane back to Lindwood City.

It was already evening when they left the tarmac.

Aaron said he wanted to go back to his place.

Nora didn't want to disturb her parents at the moment, so she agreed.

As soon as they entered the villa gates, Aaron couldn't wait to hug Nora and kiss her.

Nora frowned and dodged, saying, "Stop it; you are still injured."

"It's no big deal," Aaron said. His eyes were full of desire as he continued to kiss Nora.

Nora quickly pushed him away, saying, "My period just started."

Aaron was taken aback, a hint of disappointment flashing in his eyes.

He said, "What a coincidence! Are you lying to me? After all, I just survived. Shouldn't we celebrate?"

Upon hearing this, Nora's unease resurfaced.

She pushed Aaron away, straightened her clothes, and said coldly, "Why would I lie to you?"

Seeing Nora getting angry, Aaron's eyes flickered, and he softened his tone. "Sorry, it's my fault. But Nora, surviving once again has greatly changed my outlook. I think that when we're alive, we should enjoy life and cherish the present."

Hearing his words, Nora's unease slowly dissipated.

Aaron was right. A brush with death could profoundly change one's perspective.

Not to mention, he had survived several times.

Thinking about it, Nora softened her tone, saying, "Alright, you're still weak; go wash up and rest early."

Aaron nodded. "Okay."

Nora was about to accompany him upstairs when her phone rang. It was Emma calling.

Nora answered, "Mom."

"Nora, where have you been? Come back quickly. I just saw Kenneth's finger move. Come and see." Emma's voice was filled with excitement over the phone.

Nora hadn't told her about Aaron's situation, so Emma didn't know Nora had gone to Highty City.

Upon hearing this, Nora was also excited and said, "I'll be back right away."

After hanging up, Aaron asked, "What happened?"

"Kenneth's finger moved a bit; I'm going back to check on him," Nora replied.

Aaron nodded. "Then go back quickly."

Aaron let her go back alone. Normally, Aaron would accompany her back.

The thought flashed through Nora's mind. She asked, "What about you?"

"You told me to rest at home, so I'll obediently rest at home," Aaron said.

Nora pushed away her doubts and nodded. "Okay, I'll be back later."

Aaron said, "Go ahead."

Nora left.

Aaron surveyed the house slowly, a meaningful smile playing on his lips, then went upstairs.

Nora returned to the Hamilton family in Frederick's car.

Ebenezer had a social engagement tonight and had yet to return home.

Howard was still performing surgery.

Nora checked on Kenneth and found that he hadn't shown signs of waking up. But the fact that his fingers moved was a good sign. It meant that the medicine she had changed was effective in stimulating Kenneth's nerves.

"Mom, Kenneth should be waking up soon," Nora reassured Emma.

"Thank God." Emma clasped her hands together, her eyes slightly red.

After controlling her emotions, she asked, "Nora, where have you been all day? It's too late for you to come back."

Nora replied, "Aaron had an accident, so I went to deal with it, but everything is fine now."

Emma was taken aback and asked quickly, "Where is Aaron now?"

Nora replied, "He's resting at home."

Emma was concerned about Kenneth and didn't ask further.

She said, "As long as everything is fine. Have you had dinner?"

"Not yet."

"Go eat something first."

"Okay."
