Chapter 585 Aaron Took a Woman to a Hotel Room.
Evella was eating cake with a small spoon, and a bit of cream was on her lips.
Richard pointed to the corner of his lips, saying with a smile, "Ms. Remington, you have cream on your lips."
Evella blinked.
Richard grabbed some napkins and wiped the cream off for her.
"It seems you really like sweets." He quickly finished wiping.
Evella touched her lip and said, "Yes. The pastries here are delicious. Would you like to try some?"
"Sure. Which flavor is the best?"
"I love this strawberry mousse the most; it's tangy and sweet."
"Oh really? Then I have to try it."
Holding napkins, Nora watched them from beside, her eyes blinking.
Richard had just wiped the cream off Evella's lips.
His gesture was a bit too intimate.
They were chatting so well that Richard might have taken a liking to Evella.
He could almost be Evella's father, so it shouldn't be.
Nora was lost in thought when her phone rang. It was Jenny calling.
Nora smiled and walked to a corner to answer the call, "Jenny."
Jenny asked, "What are you up to?"
"I'm at a birthday party."
"You're living the good life!"
"You and Edric are doing well, too!"
"It's alright!"
They chatted for a while. Jenny asked, "Are you attending the birthday party alone? Isn't Mr. Gordon accompanying you?"
"He's on a business trip."
"Where did he go on a business trip?"
"Highty City."
Jenny paused and said, "Highty City? He's back in Youston."
Her smile slightly diminished upon hearing her words.
Jenny suddenly called, not just for a casual chat.
"Jenny, did you see Aaron in Youston?" Nora asked.
Jenny fell silent for a moment and said, "Nora, I don't want to lie to you. I did see a man in Youston who looked like Mr. Gordon."
If Jenny had just seen someone resembling Aaron, she wouldn't have called.
Nora pursed her lips and said, "And then?"
"I saw him taking a girl into a hotel," Jenny said.
Nora's face darkened.
Aaron took a woman to a hotel.
Nora said, "It's impossible. Did you mistake him? He's not that kind of person."
Jenny replied, "I also find it hard to believe. But I took a photo; take a look."
She quickly sent a photo.
Nora opened the photo and saw a man hugging a woman in a hotel.
Jenny probably took the photo in a hurry, so she only captured a side profile of the man.
Nora zoomed in on the photo, frowning at the man's face.
The man in the photo was indeed Aaron.
Because it was too far, the girl in his arms was somewhat blurry, and her face was not clear.
She thought the girl looked a bit like Betsy.
Nora gripped her phone, her chest rising and falling slightly.
She believed in Aaron.
Aaron would never do anything to betray her.
But how come there was such a photo?
Nora took a deep breath and dialed Aaron's number.
She needed to confirm in person!
The phone rang twice before he answered.
Aaron's magnetic voice came through. "Nora."
"Where are you?" Nora tried to sound gentle.
"I'm on a business trip in Highty City."
"Have you had dinner?"
"I just arrived at the restaurant. What's up? Are you checking up on me?"
Aaron sounded pleased.
Nora hesitated and said, "I am checking on you. Take a photo of your surroundings and send it to me."
Aaron paused, then chuckled, "Are you so worried about me?"
Nora said, "Yes. You're tall and handsome. Women like you."
Aaron laughed, "Nora, you're flattering me; I love it. Give me more compliments!"
Nora rolled her eyes and said, "Cut the nonsense; hurry up."
She hung up. A few seconds later, Aaron initiated a video call.
Nora answered, seeing Aaron's handsome face on the screen.
She said, "I asked for a photo of your surroundings."
Aaron said with a smile, "This is more direct. You're checking on me, so I have to check on you. You're beautiful and elegant. Men like you!"
Nora couldn't help but smile.
She looked at the scenery behind Aaron; he must have been in some corner making the call.
"Is this the restaurant in Highty City?"
"Yes. Hold on."
Aaron turned around so Nora could see the full view of the restaurant.
Then he asked, "Do you want me to introduce you to my business partner?"
Nora now believed Aaron was indeed in Highty City.
She relaxed and said, "No. Just go easy on the drinks."
If Aaron was in Highty City, then the man in that photo wasn't him.
Perhaps it was just someone who looked very similar to him.
But they looked too alike.
It was probably due to the angle of the shot.
"Are you attending Rachel's birthday party?" Aaron asked.
Nora said, "Yes."
"Any men hitting on you?"
"If a man tries to hit on me, are you going to rush back on a rocket to drive him away?"
"If you wish, I'll come back right away."
"Alright. Have your dinner. Remember, go easy on the drinks. After dinner, don't go off with those people, okay?"
There weren't many good men in the business world.
They loosened up even more after a few drinks.
So, Aaron was indeed a good man who didn't mingle with them.
"I got it," Aaron happily said, "I can ignore others, but I must obey you! Should we keep our phones connected so you can supervise me at all times?"
Nora found it amusing and hung up, showing her trust in him.
A moment later, she texted Jenny back.
Nora: [Jenny, you were mistaken. The person in the photo isn't Aaron. I just confirmed he's currently in Highty City.]
Soon, Jenny replied.
Jenny: [That's good, I probably made a mistake.]
Nora smiled and began asking about her and Edric's recent activities.
Linda pulled Rachel to look in Evella's direction.
Evella was chatting with Richard.
Linda said, "Look at Evella. She's chatting so happily with Richard. She must be a flirtatious person!"
Rachel glanced and said, "They're just chatting, don't jump to conclusions."
Linda pouted and said, "Rachel, I'm standing up for you! Mrs. Hamilton chose you, and you and Mr. Howard are a perfect match. Why should a rapist's daughter get ahead of you?"
