Chapter 704 Situation
"Really?"
Howard was somewhat excited and nervous, afraid that Nora was just comforting him.
"Try it yourself," Nora said.
Howard took a bite, savored it carefully, and frowned.
"It's a bit salty."
"It's okay."
"Nora, don't comfort me. This dish is not even close to the level of Joseph."
Howard thought of the dishes he had at Richard's house that day and couldn't calm down.
Joseph was indeed excellent in all aspects, and he didn't want to be surpassed by Joseph!
Nora thought to herself. 'Of course! Joseph looks like he has been cooking for many years.
A newcomer like Howard definitely can't compare to Joseph.'
Of course, Nora couldn't discourage Howard like this.
Nora's eyes turned. "Howard, let me teach you a trick that will guarantee you to surpass Joseph's cooking level."
Howard's eyes lit up. "Tell me!"
Nora said, "Cooking also requires heart. If you cook with love for Evella, you can definitely make dishes tastier than Joseph's. That's what we call intention!"
Howard pondered for a moment, then looked at her and smiled without saying a word.
"Nora, you're treating me like Samantha and Millie."
Nora was just talking nonsense, but of course, she wouldn't admit it.
"Howard, do you think what I said is wrong? Why is a lunch box prepared by a mother referred to as 'a love lunch box'? Because with love, the food naturally tastes better!"
Howard glanced at Nora. "I think you shouldn't be a doctor; you should go into sales, guaranteeing top performance every month!"
Nora was quite the talker!
She actually made him feel like what she said made sense!
Nora smiled brightly. "I'll take that as a compliment."
Howard waved his hand. "I won't argue with you. Samuel, let's redo this dish."
"Alright, Mr. Howard," Samuel responded promptly.
Nora added, "Come on, Howard, remember to infuse your love for Evella!"
Howard glared at her. "Go out, don't distract me!"
Nora smiled. "You're burning bridges!"
Howard ignored her and continued to learn.
Nora smiled and sent the video to Evella.
Nora: [My dear, I told him to stop, but he won't listen! Look, he got splattered with oil on his arm again, and it's blistering!]
After sending the message, Nora added a pitiful expression.
On the other side, the car was driving on a winding mountain road.
Evella was sitting in the back seat, wondering why Nora hadn't replied to her messages.
Seeing another video from Nora, she quickly clicked it.
When she saw Howard being splattered with oil but continuing to cook, she felt even more distressed.
Howard was silly. Why was he so stubborn?
A sincere effort from him to learn cooking for her was all that mattered.
Evella really didn't care whether Howard could cook or not!
Evella sent a stunned goose expression, indicating that Howard was that silly goose.
While watching the video, Richard also leaned over to take a look.
Seeing Howard's arm burned by oil, he raised an eyebrow but remained silent.
Richard thought to himself that Howard must be pretending to be pitiful.
But at least Howard was sensible, knowing there was a crisis, and willing to pursue Evella.
Although Richard would prefer Evella to be with Joseph, unfortunately, Evella's heart was already taken.
It was his fault for being a step too late, allowing Howard to get ahead.
Looking at Joseph in the driver's seat, a hint of regret flashed in Richard's eyes.
Joseph was such a good man; Richard wondered who he would marry in the future?
As he was lost in thought, Joseph suddenly spoke up.
"Richard, something was wrong."
Richard was taken aback. "What's going on?"
"There seems to be a car following us from behind," Joseph said gravely.
Richard instinctively turned to look back, and then they heard two gunshots, leaving two bullet holes in the glass of their car.
If the car's glass wasn't bulletproof, it would have been pierced by now.
Richard's expression changed. "Is anyone trying to attack us from behind?"
"Yes, Richard, Evella, hold on tight, I'm going to accelerate!" Joseph's expression was serious as he stepped on the gas pedal, increasing the speed of the car.
After a brief moment of shock, Evella's face turned pale, and she unconsciously moved closer to Richard.
"Dad, they have guns. Who are they?" Evella said in a trembling voice.
Richard hugged her, his face cold. "Don't be afraid. Nothing will happen."
He had cooperated with the police to send Leo to prison, so he figured the attackers were either the sellers Leo had been in contact with or people around Leo.
He had made a mistake by not arranging for bodyguards to accompany them when they went out to pay respects today.
Two more shots rang out.
The sound of bullets hitting the glass.
This time, the car's glass had cracked.
Evella was even more frightened, clinging to Richard, feeling uneasy.
Richard reassured her. "Don't be afraid, I am here."
With that, he started making calls to get their people to come and help.
The call went through, but Richard knew they were too far away. Their people wouldn't make it in time.
For now, they had to find a way to get out of this themselves.
Evella listened to the gunshots behind them, swallowing nervously, feeling panicked.
Her phone kept ringing with messages.
Evella glanced at it and saw a message from Nora.
It was about the silly goose she had just seen in the video, Nora teasing her and asking if she wanted to go and comfort the injured Howard.
Evella didn't have time to read the message thoroughly, so she quickly dialed Nora's number.
Nora answered immediately, "Hello?"
"Nora, help!"
Nora was about to joke with Evella, but upon hearing the distress in her voice, she was taken aback and quickly asked, "Evella, what's wrong?"
"Nora, we're under attack on the road. Someone is chasing us! They're armed!" Evella said with a trembling voice.
Nora's heart sank, and she quickly said, "Don't worry, tell me where you are, I'll have my brother send people to find you right away!"
"Today, I was with my father and Joseph, going back to our hometown to pay respects. All I know is that we're on a winding mountain road right now," Evella said.
"Don't worry, send me your location right away," Nora said.
"Okay."
Evella hung up the phone and heard two more gunshots.
She screamed in fear, feeling the car jolt.
Richard had just finished the call, and his expression became even more serious.
"Joseph, Is one of the tires shot out?"
"Yes." Joseph controlled the steering wheel, trying to keep the car stable and moving forward.
Evella's face turned even paler.
Their tire had been shot out!
Her mind was in chaos, and she quickly sent her location to Nora.
