Chapter 562 Letting Her Go on Blind Dates Again
Howard, upon hearing Ebenezer's words, knew that he had agreed to his union with the Remington family, and he immediately fell silent.
As long as Ebenezer understood his intentions, that was all that mattered.
He believed that he could still marry Evella as before.
Just the thought of Evella made him smile uncontrollably.
During this time, he had been thinking about her constantly, wondering about her feelings towards him.
'Is she thinking about me too?' he thought.
At that moment, Evella was sitting next to Maisie, sneezing twice in a row.
She thought, 'Who is thinking about me? Is it the man I am going to meet for a blind date?'
Evella rubbed her nose, clinging to Maisie's arm playfully. "Grandma, I really don't want to go on a blind date. Are you in such a rush to marry me off? I'm so sad!"
Maisie was starting to set her up on blind dates again! She felt like crying.
"I'm just asking you to attend a blind date. If you don't like him, I'll help you find someone you like for sure." Maisie lovingly patted her hand.
"But I..." Evella said.
"Alright, it's settled. In two days, there will be a charity gala. You and Kevin can go have fun." It seemed that there was no room for negotiation.
Evella felt extremely frustrated.
She left Maisie's room, thinking, 'Blind dates? No big deal. I'll dress terribly, and when others reject me, it'll be fine.'
At the Hamilton Villa.
The engagement between Aaron and Nora was set, with Ebenezer temporarily managing the company.
Upon learning this, Emma was inclined to oppose it.
However, considering the current situation of the Hamilton's Group, she reluctantly agreed.
Although she agreed, she still talked to Aaron privately, "Aaron, announcing your engagement with Nora is just the beginning. We won't be arranging your wedding for now. You and Nora have known each other for too short a time; I need to assess your character further."
In other words, there were still uncertainties about Aaron and Nora's wedding. He couldn't marry Nora just yet.
"I understand." Aaron didn't object and agreed with a smile.
Being able to get engaged to the woman he loved was already fulfilling for him.
Announcing the engagement meant that Nora would be his from now on.
Nothing else mattered to him as much.
Emma remained calm, and after their conversation, she took Nora to her room for a chat.
Nora's feelings at the moment were anything but calm. She patiently chatted with Emma for a while before returning to her room.
After freshening up, she expected a message from Aaron asking her to come to his room.
But she had yet to receive the message.
Nora held her phone, staring blankly, checking the signal, wondering if it was poor.
However, the signal on her phone was normal.
She thought, 'Strange, what is Aaron up to? Why hasn't he messaged me?'
She was unaware that Aaron was on a video call with Alex, asking him to do something for him.
After waiting for a while without Aaron's message, Nora decided not to wait any longer.
Thinking about Howard's reaction earlier, she sent a message to Evella.
Nora: [Evella, what are you busy with these days?]
Soon, Evella replied with a message.
Evella: [Waiting for a blind date.]
Nora blinked.
Nora: [Is your Grandmom setting you up on blind dates again?]
Evella: [Yes!]
Nora: [Didn't she really like Howard? Why did she suddenly give up on insisting for your marriage?]
Evella didn't answer that question.
Evella: [Why is she so eager to get me married? Nora, I'm so annoyed.]
Evella was indeed tired of being pressured to get married before graduating.
Nora: [Who is she eyeing this time?]
Evella: [Kevin from the Swift family. She wants me to accompany Kevin to the charity gala two days later.]
The Swift family? Nora wasn't very familiar with the people from Lindwood City, so she did't know what kind of person Kevin was.
Of course, she didn't really care about others. She only cared about whether Evella and Howard still had a chance together.
Nora: [Evella, if you had to choose between Howard and Kevin, who would you pick?]
Soon, Evella replied.
Evella: [I don't want to choose anyone.]
Nora frowned and replied.
Nora: [Are you sure?]
Evella sent a big laughing emoji.
Nora: [Don't tease me.]
Nora smiled slightly as she read the message. She was certain that Evella had some feelings for Howard.
Otherwise, she would have told her directly.
Since they seemed to be interested to each other, she had to inform Howard.
She should make him a little nervous.
So he wouldn't lose the woman he liked to someone else!
Two days later, at the charity gala.
Nora wore a white diamond-studded gown, her hair elegantly styled, showcasing her beautiful neck.
She looked like a noble queen, or a fairy descending to the mortal world, her charm beyond description.
Meanwhile, Aaron wore a dark suit, his hair neatly combed, looking particularly handsome.
As soon as they entered, they became the center of attention.
Nora had been to such grand events before, so she walked calmly with Aaron, arm in arm.
However, she had a question on her mind. Aaron had said he would announce their engagement that day. How was he planning to do it? Would he announce it in front of everyone? Wouldn't they become the focus of tonight's charity gala?
"Nora."
As Nora pondered, someone approached her in the center of the banquet.
The person was wearing a red and green knee-length evening gown paired with black knee-high boots. Her hair was loose around her shoulders, with thick bangs across her forehead, and she wore black-framed glasses. Her appearance was quite dowdy!
'Who is this?' Nora thought.
"Nora, Mr. Gordon, you've finally arrived." Evella walked up to the two, pushing her glasses up with a smile.
Nora was stunned for a moment and said, "Evella?"
She thought, 'Why does Evella look so unattractive? If I didn't recognize her voice, I wouldn't have known it was her!'
"It's me! Do you like my look?" Evella twirled in front of Nora.
After a while, Nora managed to say, "It's uniquely fashionable!"
She couldn't directly told Evella that she looked awful.
After all, eccentricity was another form of fashion.
So, it wasn't a lie!
"It took me four hours to craft this look carefully," Evella proudly said. Judging by the way everyone is looking at me, I know my outfit today is a success. If I can't find a job after graduation, maybe I can become a stylist!"
Nora chuckled and said, "Yes, if a styling studio wants to ruin someone's reputation, they can just hire you."
