Chapter 1053 You like Wesley
Wesley was initially shocked and thought the person wanting to sign him was a scammer. It wasn't until a video call with Aaron that he realized his luck.
Later, Samantha started high school and needed to record for a school talent show. She went to Aaron's media company and met Wesley there.
Wesley was grateful when he learned who Samantha was. They exchanged numbers and got to know each other.
Samantha smiled, remembering their first meeting.
Wesley replied to her message with a beep: [I was just recording in the studio. Thought I'd message you once I got back.]
Samantha smiled again, thinking she had good taste. Wesley was an excellent singer.
Despite no formal training, Wesley became a top singer in just a few years. He had a huge fan base. The company asked if he wanted to enter the entertainment industry, but Wesley insisted on just making music.
Wesley wasn't like other guys who chased fame and money. He genuinely loved music.
Samantha thought of Wesley's handsome, slightly melancholic face, and her heart raced.
"Who are you messaging?" a playful voice asked.
Samantha turned to see Millie peeking at her phone.
"Just a friend," Samantha said, quickly putting her phone away.
Millie teased, "Then why are you hiding it? And why's your face red?"
"Who's hiding? You just startled me!" Samantha retorted, brushing her hair back.
Millie was speechless. She'd never heard of someone turning red from fright.
"Billy said you have a crush. Is it Wesley?" Millie had seen his name on the screen.
Samantha quickly covered Millie's mouth and looked around. "Don't say anything. I don't want Mom and Dad to know."
Millie pulled Samantha's hand away, intrigued. "Why don't you want them to know if you like Wesley?"
"Because they'll nag me," Samantha said. "If they find out, they'll ask questions every day and might even monitor me. I wouldn't have any freedom."
Millie blinked. "Are you afraid they won't let you date him?"
Samantha replied, "Not really. It's just a crush right now. If he doesn't like me, it would be embarrassing to tell anyone."
Millie smiled. "Samantha, you're beautiful and amazing. What guy wouldn't like you?"
Samantha shook her head. "That's not necessarily true. There are plenty of beautiful and amazing girls. I'm not that special. Besides, what if Wesley just isn't into girls like me?"
Millie knew Samantha was sweet and humble. She never acted superior because of her background or looks. If she were a guy, she'd be attracted to Samantha's personality too. Samantha was worrying for nothing.
"So, what's your plan? Just keep crushing on him?" Millie asked.
Samantha shrugged. "Yeah, I'll just go with the flow for now."
"Not gonna confess?" Millie blinked her eyes.
Samantha shook her head quickly. "I want to be reserved."
Millie laughed, covering her mouth.
Feeling awkward, Samantha changed the subject. "Enough about me. What about you? Still want to marry Billy?"
Millie stopped laughing and cleared her throat. "Well, that depends on Billy. Let's see if he confesses."
"Still need a confession?" Samantha teased. "Remember when we were kids, you said you wanted to be Billy's bride?"
Millie rolled her eyes. "I've grown up now. I need to learn from you and be reserved."
Samantha burst into laughter. "You've grown up, alright. You even know how to shut me up now."
They exchanged smiles. Samantha glanced through the window at Billy, chatting with friends in the banquet hall. "I just reminded Billy. Let's see if he takes action."
Millie thought of Billy's cold and arrogant demeanor and laughed. "I'm curious too." She wondered if Billy would confess.
"What if Billy never takes action?" Samantha asked.
Millie blinked. "Then I'll find a way to provoke him."
Samantha was speechless. "You've really grown up. Full of ideas now."
"Thanks for the compliment."
Samantha laughed. "So, if Billy doesn't get it, how will you provoke him?"
Millie pouted. "Don't jump to conclusions. Maybe Billy will confess without any provocation?"
Samantha laughed. "What if he doesn't?"
Millie raised an eyebrow. "I haven't thought that far yet."
Samantha rolled her eyes. "So you were just talking big?"
Millie chuckled and turned the topic back to Samantha. "Alright, your turn. Why do you like Wesley, and when did it start?"
Samantha gave her a playful look. "You want to gossip again? Not telling."
Millie smiled. "Do you want me to keep your secret or not?"
Samantha countered, "Do you want me to keep quiet or not?"
Both had dirt on each other, so neither could say anything.
The banquet lasted late. Aaron and Nora danced, cut the cake, and set off fireworks together, just like every year. Their love was as fresh as ever, even after ten years, making everyone envious.
After the banquet, the older guests went to the guest rooms in the manor to sleep, while the young people continued to party. Samantha had school tomorrow, so she told Aaron and Nora she was heading back to the villa to pack.
Nora asked, "Samantha, if you go back to school now, will you come back?"
Samantha said, "Probably not this month."
She had to prepare for a performance with Wesley until the beginning of next month, so she wouldn't have time to come back.
