Chapter 802 Feeling That Her Son Was Out of Control

Edward finished speaking, his face ashen as he slammed the door and left.

Fiona's eyes widened as she listened to the door close. Her chest heaved with anger, and her eyes gradually reddened.

Edric, feeling a headache coming on, quickly comforted her, "Mom, don't faint. Dad was just speaking out of anger. You can't take it seriously!"

With tears in her eyes, Fiona cried out, "You all heard it. He admitted it. He wasn't just speaking out of anger; he really betrayed me. He despises me for getting old and found a younger woman!"

Edric furrowed his brow. "Mom, it's not what you think. You misunderstood him!"

"Don't defend him. I know what's going on!"

Fiona wouldn't listen to Edric's explanation.

"Your dad was a playboy when he was young, but your grandpa pressured him, so he restrained himself. Now that you're in charge and the Bishop family's influence surpasses your maternal family, your dad doesn't need to hold back anymore. How could he do this to me!"

Listening to Fiona's accusations, Edric rubbed his temples, feeling even more of a headache.

"Mom, if what you said is true and Dad really betrayed you, what do you want to do? Divorce him?"

Fiona's crying stopped abruptly; she clearly hadn't considered this.

Jenny glared at Edric. "Edric, what nonsense are you talking about? Dad wouldn't cheat. He loves Mom so much; there's no way he would betray her. They won't get divorced. Go outside and talk to Dad; tell him not to speak out of anger."

Edric, feeling frustrated, nodded and left the room as Jenny suggested.

The door closed, and the room fell silent.

Jenny handed Fiona a few tissues.

"Mom, don't get too worked up. Calm down first."

Fiona took the tissues, feeling uncomfortable, but said nothing.

Jenny looked at her and said softly, "Mom, Dad and Edric are both men of integrity. I've seen how much Dad cares for you. He wouldn't betray your trust and your marriage just for getting involved with young and beautiful women."

Fiona wiped her tears and shook her head. "You're wrong. Men can't resist temptation. No matter how loyal they are, the reality is harsh. Men always prefer the new over the old."

Jenny chose her words carefully. "While that's true, any man with self-discipline will control his desires."

Fiona gave a mocking smile. "Even the most disciplined man can't resist the entanglement of a young and beautiful girl."

Thinking about what she saw at Oasis Lounge, Fiona was filled with resentment.

Once she was discharged, she would definitely find Betsy and teach her a lesson!

Seeing the change in Fiona's expression, Jenny's eyes flickered.

"Mom, the world is indeed full of temptations, but if that girl doesn't have support, she won't get far. If she really dares to seduce Dad, you won't need to lift a finger; Edric will teach her a lesson for you."

Hearing this, Fiona thought it over and agreed.

"Of course!"

Jenny then changed the subject. "But what if that woman has someone backing her? What if someone dislikes you and wants you and Dad to divorce, so they deliberately sent that woman to seduce Dad? How would you feel?"

Fiona was stunned and looked up at her. "What do you mean? Are you saying someone deliberately sent that woman to seduce your father-in-law?"

Jenny's eyes flickered, and she shook her head. "That's not what I mean. I just suddenly thought of my marriage with Edric. Mom, you should understand my feelings now. I felt as bad as you do now when I saw Edric with another woman."

Hearing this, Fiona's eyes flickered, and she was momentarily speechless.

Jenny continued, "If those women you arranged to Edric didn't have your support, I could use my status as the Bishop family's daughter-in-law to deal with them. But with your backing, I can't do anything. Because you're my mother-in-law, if I teach them a lesson, it would be disrespecting you."

Fiona felt terrible. Thinking about everything that had happened recently made her feel even worse.

"Alright, it's not the time to talk about this now. Besides, Ursula has already been sent away by Edric. I won't try to match her with Edric anymore."

Jenny knew Fiona felt embarrassed, so she didn't push further.

She believed that after this incident, Fiona wouldn't try to arrange women with Edric anymore.

Suppressing her inner joy, Jenny said, "Mom, don't worry. Edric and I will always support you. If any woman dares to come between you and Dad, we'll make sure she pays!"

Fiona glanced at Jenny, her expression a bit awkward.

She hadn't expected that one day, Jenny, whom she had disliked, would be the one comforting her.

At this moment, Fiona didn't care about anything else; she just wanted to talk to someone and discuss a plan.

"Jenny, do you think that woman might really be sent by someone, as you said?" Fiona asked.

Jenny's eyes flickered, and she smiled awkwardly. "I don't think so. But even if someone did send her, Edric would definitely find out who it is and make sure she won't harm your marriage with Dad."

Fiona sighed, "I hope someone did send her. It would be better than Edward getting bored and playing around with women."

Seeing that Fiona didn't pursue the matter further, Jenny breathed a sigh of relief.

"Mom, don't overthink it. Edric said it was a misunderstanding, so it must be. You must have misunderstood Dad."

Fiona looked indignant, "But I clearly saw that woman sitting on Edward's lap."

Just thinking about that scene made her blood boil, and she wanted to kill Betsy!

Jenny said, "Mom, don't get worked up. Sometimes, even what we see with our own eyes isn't the truth. Like the sensational news we see sometimes, it's often just to grab attention, right?"

"For example, the photos you sent me of Ursula and Edric entering a hotel together. Nothing actually happened between them, but the photos made it look like they did."

Hearing this, Fiona felt a bit uneasy.

"Jenny, do you have a grudge against me?"

Jenny didn't deny it. "Mom, if I said I had no issues with what you did, you wouldn't believe me. But it's all in the past. I'm still your daughter-in-law, and I'll treat you as my mother."

Her eyes were clear, and she looked sincere.

Fiona thought about her actions over the past while and felt a bit guilty.

Although Jenny's family background wasn't as good as Edric's, it wasn't bad either.

She had been too picky.

What really upset Fiona was that Edric and Jenny had secretly gotten married without consulting her.

Fiona felt like Edric was slipping out of her control.
