Chapter 1093 Got into a Fight and Ended Up at the Police Station
In River View Estate, Samantha was chillin' on the couch, glancing at her phone every now and then, waiting for Wesley to hit her up.
But Wesley never called. Instead, the Gordon fam saw the news and started blowing up the group chat.
Nora: [Samantha, is what the news says true? Are you really dating Wesley?]
Aaron: [The news has to be fake, right? No way you're living with someone.]
Alex: [I'll get someone to take down the trending topic ASAP.]
Erin sent a squatting emoji.
Billy: [Samantha, I'm swinging by your place tomorrow.]
Millie: [Why?]
Billy: [Taking her to see a therapist so she can better judge people.]
Samantha was already stressed from all the family drama. But when she saw Billy's message, she cracked up.
Samantha: [Billy, cut the crap. Are you saying it's a mistake for me to like Wesley? What's wrong with him?]
Billy: [You two aren't a good match.]
Samantha: [Why not? Don't tell me it's 'cause of our different statuses. If you're that shallow, I got nothing more to say.]
Billy: [Am I that shallow? I never judge someone by their background.]
Samantha: [Then why aren't we a good match?]
Billy: [Just a gut feeling.]
Samantha rolled her eyes and replied: [That reason doesn't fly with me.]
Nora jumped in: [Samantha, are you two living together?]
Nora was only worried about this touchy subject. She didn't want Samantha to get hurt.
Aaron added: [If Wesley messes with you, I'll deal with him.]
Samantha could picture Aaron fuming. She quickly replied: [No way, am I that easy?]
Aaron: [I knew you weren't that type. Samantha, you're still young. Don't settle too soon. Take your time, okay?]
Nora: [Samantha, remember what I told you, always stand your ground.]
Aaron: [Samantha, I got the same gut feeling as Billy. You two aren't right for each other.]
Looking at the flood of messages, Samantha sighed. She knew this was coming. That's why she didn't dare to tell them she was dating; her family would never let it go.
Samantha set the family group chat to Do Not Disturb mode; out of sight, out of mind.
"Chatting with Billy and the others?" Alfred came out after cleaning the kitchen and saw her looking troubled, so he asked.
"Yeah." Samantha nodded.
"Were they surprised?" Alfred asked.
Samantha sighed, "More than surprised, they just bombarded me."
Alfred said, "Do they all disapprove of you being with Wesley?"
"Yeah. They say their gut tells them we're not a good match. But what is gut feeling anyway?"
Samantha was puzzled why her family didn't like Wesley, who was clearly an awesome and ambitious guy.
Alfred didn't reply, just smiled silently. The Gordon family probably didn't like Wesley because they had sharp eyes. They could see he wasn't right for her. "He hasn't called you back yet?"
Samantha said, "No."
Alfred was a bit annoyed. "Is he that busy? With such big news, he didn't call you right away?"
Samantha felt a bit uneasy too, but she still defended Wesley, "He's super busy. He had to rush to a schedule early in the morning. Maybe his assistant hasn't told him to call me back yet."
Alfred stayed quiet, waiting with her for Wesley's call. But instead of a call, they got hit with another trending topic.
Wesley and Orlando got into a brawl and ended up at the police station.
Samantha was floored. "Alfred, Wesley actually got into a fight and ended up at the police station."
Alfred frowned. He knew she wouldn't just sit there and asked, "You wanna go check it out?"
"Of course." Samantha jumped up, ready to bolt.
"Hold up, change your clothes first." Alfred quickly said.
Samantha looked down and realized she was still in her loungewear. She dashed into her room to change.
Alfred stood in the living room waiting for Samantha when a message popped up on his phone. Billy: [Alfred, where you at?]
[At River View Estate with Samantha.] Alfred replied.
Billy: [Saw Wesley in the news again. He got into a fight and ended up at the police station. I called to get the scoop. Apparently, some celeb mocked him using the news, and he lost it. He seems super touchy. The initial news said he relies on women. Who knows if he'll take it out on Samantha? Keep an eye on her and make sure Wesley doesn't hurt her.]
Alfred stared at the message and quickly replied: [Got it.]
Honestly, Alfred didn't need Billy's reminder; he was already on it. No way he'd let anyone mess with Samantha.
Soon, Samantha came out dressed. "Alfred, I'm heading to the police station now."
"I'll go with you," Alfred said.
Samantha didn't waste any time and headed to the police station with Alfred.
At the police station, after some mediation, even though Wesley and Orlando looked like they wanted to strangle each other, they shook hands 'cause they were public figures.
Elijah handled the paperwork for Wesley and looked at his bruised mouth with concern. "Wesley, you hurt anywhere else? Need to hit the hospital?"
"No need." Wesley's face was dark as a storm cloud.
Just then, his manager Cleo Stewart rushed in. "Wesley, you okay?"
Wesley just grunted in response.
Cleo showed concern for him first, then turned to scold Elijah, "Elijah, what were you doing? When you saw Wesley in a fight, why didn't you pull him away immediately?"
Elijah felt wronged. "I'm sorry, it's my fault. I couldn't hold Wesley back."
At that moment, Elijah's stomach cramped, and she let out a hiss.
Wesley glanced at Elijah and saw a red mark on her face. He remembered when Orlando swung at him in the dressing room, she rushed to protect him.
Wesley frowned and said to Cleo, "Why are you scolding her? How could she stop it?"
Cleo glared at Elijah. She was actually blaming Elijah for not reporting Wesley's relationship immediately. But seeing Wesley protect Elijah, she couldn't say much.
Cleo softened her tone and asked, "Wesley, are you really dating Miss Gordon?"
Wesley's face darkened even more at this.
At that moment, Orlando and his assistant came out.
Hearing Cleo's question, Orlando sneered, "Do you even need to ask? Miss Gordon has such influence. Wesley wouldn't hesitate to cling to her. Ms. Stewart, I think your company should start grooming other celebs. He might become the Gordon family's live-in son-in-law tomorrow."
