Zephyr nodded. "Not bad. Once, I came here for a meal and happened to encounter Marlon's father having a sudden heart attack. He almost died. I saved him in time, and Mr. Grant survived because of the prompt rescue. Over time, we got to know each other."

Jane nodded knowingly. "So, you're the lifesaver of thisrestaurant owner."
"Sort of."
"So, the owner's daughter wants to marry you because you saved her father?" Jane teased.
Zephyr chuckled, glancing at the busy Marlon. "The girl just likes joking."
Jane raised an eyebrow. "I don't think Marlon is joking. She might really want to be your girlfriend. Dr. Wright, you're not getting any younger. Why not consider her?"
Zephyr gave her a look. "If I were to consider finding a girlfriend, it wouldn't be her."
Jane played with her coffee cup, thinking of Sandy, and bluntly said, "Then who are you considering? Dr. Hernandez already has kids. Are you still waiting for her to get a divorce?"
Hearing this, Zephyr's grip on his coffee cup tightened slightly.
He looked up and said irritably, "I never said I was considering her. Can't I consider you?"
Jane was taking a sip of coffee and almost spat it out.
She quickly covered her mouth, looking at Zephyr. "You're considering me? Dr. Wright, how could you have such a strange idea? A woman like me shouldn't be your type."
Zephyr had just said it in a fit of anger.
But seeing Jane's big reaction, his eyes shifted.
"Jane, we've saved each other before. Although you're not exactly my type, by your logic that if you save someone, you should marry them. Therefore, what's wrong with us being together?"
Jane stared at him, momentarily speechless.
After a while, she said, "I didn't expect Dr. Wright to be not only a great doctor but also a smooth talker."
Zephyr raised an eyebrow. "Thanks for the compliment."
Jane snorted, took a sip of coffee, and ignored him.
At this moment, Marlon brought over a plate of grilled fish.
Zephyr looked at the steaming grilled fish, somewhat surprised. "Marlon, this grilled fish was crossed off the menu. How come there's still some?"
This grilled fish was one of the restaurant's specialties.
It sold out quickly, and many people would book it days in advance.

They had come quite late, so Zephyr had seen that the grilled fish was already crossed off the menu.
"This is the last one. I saved it, especially for you."
Marlon said playfully, "Several customers ordered it earlier, but I felt you would come today, so I crossed it off the menu early. Zephyr, am I good?"
This was obviously not true.
A reserved customer probably didn't show up, so there was an extra grilled fish.

"I'm flattered."
Jane, across from him, raised her eyebrows and said deliberately, "Marlon is so nice. She seems like a good woman. Dr. Wright, she likes you. Don't let her down."
Zephyr glanced at her, seeing the teasing look in her eyes, and smirked.
"Jane, you know who I like. I said I would consider it, so you don't need to test my sincerity."
Jane was taken aback, wondering what Zephyr meant.
Marlon, standing by, blinked, also not understanding.
"Zephyr, what are you talking about? Who do you like, and what are you considering?"
Zephyr looked at Marlon. "Marlon, actually, Jane and I are trying to date. I saved her, so she's always been grateful and has a good impression of me."
"Your appearance just now probably made her feel threatened, so she confessed to me. And she saved me, too. I think she's a well-behaved person, so I agreed to try dating her."
Jane was shocked.

Marlon pouted. "I'm heartbroken. Can I take the fish away?"
Both of them looked at her.
Marlon sighed, "Forget it. If you love someone, you should let them be happy. I won't be the evil woman who comes between others. Zephyr, Jane, I wish you both the best."
With that, she winked at Jane and left gracefully.
Jane was amused by her.
Marlon was really interesting.
If she were a man, she would definitely be attracted to Marlon.
Jane looked at Zephyr, seeing that he was still holding her hand. She suddenly pulled her hand back and slapped his hand.
"Dr. Wright, you are an expert in lying."
Jane's slap was quite heavy.
Zephyr frowned, looking at his reddened hand. "Officer Jane, be gentle. My hand is numb from your slap."
Jane snorted, "And you still want to try with me?"
Zephyr glanced at her. "It's not impossible. A woman like you, with no femininity, probably won't find anyone. So, I'll be selfless and take you in."
Jane's face darkened. "Zephyr, do you believe I'll splash chili water on your face?"
Zephyr nodded. "I believe."
Jane laughed angrily. "Then stop talking nonsense!"
Zephyr chuckled. "Let's eat. Aren't you hungry?"
Jane said, "You've made me so angry that I've lost my appetite."
Zephyr's eyes flashed with amusement. He picked some fish belly meat and put it in Jane's bowl.
"Try it. This grilled fish is the restaurant's specialty. It's hard to get without a reservation."
