Chapter 830 Not Afraid of Getting Stuck Here

Nathan understood that Hugo hinted that he should take Millie back to his place first.

"Alright, Millie, come with me," Nathan said.

Millie wiped her tears and, still sobbing, asked, "If I take a bath and get clean, will you take me home?"

"Yes."

Nathan nodded and took Millie's hand to leave.

As the door closed, Diego said angrily, "What an ungrateful brat. It's not long since Nora adopted her, and she's already forgotten her real family."

Hugo replied, "She's still a child. Just let her stay here for a while, and I believe she'll soon consider this place her home."

Diego's face darkened. "This has always been her home."

Hugo smiled. "Just in case, let the child stay at my place for now."

Diego understood his meaning; perhaps Nora and the others would come looking soon.

They needed to hide Millie first.

On the other side, Nora finally arrived in Hchilia on a private jet.

James was already waiting on the tarmac.

Seeing Nora disembark, surrounded by a large group of bodyguards, he glanced behind her.

"Dr. Smith, did you come alone?"

James thought Nora would come with Aaron.

"Aaron is on a business trip and couldn't come, so I came to check the situation first," Nora explained.

James nodded. "Let's talk on our way."

"Alright."

Nora got into James's car.

A group of bodyguards and Frederick got into the arranged vehicles, following behind them.

As the car started moving, Nora asked, "James, where are we going now? Are we heading directly to Millie's grandfather's house?"

"Yes."

James said, "My people are already stationed there."

Nora quickly asked, "Did they see Millie?"

"No."

After receiving Nora's call, James quickly sent people to Silvercrest.

But because his place was a bit far from Silvercrest, his people arrived three hours later.

His subordinates reported that they had been watching outside the Rochet family home but hadn't seen Millie.

"I wonder how Millie is doing now. She must be crying, being taken to a strange place."

Nora frowned slightly, worry flashing in her eyes.

James's lips tightened, and he said with a cold gaze, "We must make them hand Millie over."

Nora nodded and said, "James, can you tell me about Stov's family situation?"

To figure out a solution, they must learn more about the Rochet family.

"Stov is the second son in his family. He had an older brother, but unfortunately, his brother died in a car accident a few years ago, making Stov the only son. His parents are still alive," James began explaining Stov's family situation to Nora.

Nora said, "It sounds like Stov's family relationships aren't too complicated."

James nodded and said, "But Stov has a cousin, Hugo, who is very close to him. Hugo is more business-savvy and turned a small company into a multinational corporation at a young age."

"Of course, Stov's financial and other support was crucial to Hugo. Therefore, with Stov's death, Hugo lost a significant ally."

"After Stov's death, Hugo smartly abandoned many illegal businesses so that he didn't get involved, but his company still suffered greatly. I suspect Millie's sudden abduction is part of his plan."

Listening to James's account, Nora was thoughtful.

"So you mean Hugo was the one in charge, and if we want to take Millie smoothly, we need to persuade him?"

James nodded and said, "That's what I think. Since Stov's parents are old, they rely on Hugo. So if Hugo agrees, we have a chance to take Millie."

Nora understood and added, "James, can you tell me more about Hugo?"

James said, "I haven't had much contact with him. I only know he's in his thirties, his grandmother and mother are from Chrisland, so he's of a mixed race, and his wife is also a Chrisland native from Hchilia. They don't have children."

Nora listened carefully, noting everything.

After driving for over an hour, they reached the outskirts of Silvercrest.

James's car stopped by the roadside. He pointed to a white building not far away, saying, "That's Stov's father's house."

Nora looked up and saw the white building, which looked quite grand.

It was clear that Stov had left Diego and Mia a considerable amount of wealth.

Several other houses surrounded the building, and Nora asked, "Does Hugo live here too?"

James said, "Probably not. His home should be in the bustling city area."

Nora nodded and prepared to get out of the car.

It was noon.

The sunlight made people feel lazy.

James opened the car door and got out. Several subordinates who had been watching the place came running over.

"Boss."

James nodded slightly and asked, "Any updates?"

"The building buzzes with activity, servants scurrying in and out, but Miss Cox is nowhere to be seen," the subordinate reported.

James looked at Nora, asking, "Dr. Smith, what should we do next?"

Nora took a deep breath, looking at the grand building, and replied, "Let's knock on the door first."

"Alright."

James sent a subordinate to knock on the door.

Soon, a servant came to open the door.

Seeing a large group of people at the door, she was a bit nervous and asked in the local language, "Who are you looking for?"

"We're looking for Mr. Rochet," James said in a deep voice.

"Who are you?" the servant asked again.

Nora didn't understand their conversation and tugged at James.

She asked, "What are you talking about?"

James translated their conversation.

Nora looked at the servant and said, "I'm Nora, from Lindwood City, Chrisland. I want to visit Mr. Rochet. Please inform him."

James translated her words into the local language.

The servant looked Nora up and down, then said, "Please wait a moment. I'll inform him."

The door closed with a bang, and the servant quickly returned to the front hall to inform Diego and Hugo of the situation outside.

At that moment, Hugo had just finished lunch with Diego and Mia. Hearing this, he smiled.

"They came quite quickly. Let them in."

The servant responded and turned to open the door.

Diego's old face was stern, and he said, "They've actually rocked up. Aren't they scared of getting stuck here?"

Hugo glanced at him and said, "Uncle Diego, they are influential figures in Chrisland. We should be careful."

Diego's face was sullen as he reluctantly agreed.

Mia said angrily, "But they killed Stov. Are we just going to let it go?"

Hugo said, "If you kill them now to avenge Stov, you won't survive either, and it will implicate me and our entire Rochet family. Please be patient."
