Chapter 971 Just Couldn't Do Without Men
"Feeling bad for Johnnie, huh?"
Nora sighed, "He must be heartbroken. Who knows when he'll get over it."
Aaron shrugged, "He's tough; he'll bounce back."
Nora shot him a look. "Easy to say when you haven't been through it."
Aaron laughed, pulling her inside. "You're right. I felt the same when you wanted to break up with me."
Nora chuckled. "Smooth talker."
Aaron grinned. "Seriously. I bounced back to win you over, but he has to forget. He's hurting more."
Nora, sitting on the couch, teased, "Yeah, lucky you. Got a wife and three kids."
Aaron's eyes sparkled as he touched her belly. "No, four."
They smiled, filling the room with warmth.
Unlike Aaron and Nora's sweet love, the other two were miserable.
Both ended up at a bar to drown their sorrows.
The bar was big, so they didn't run into each other.
During the dance segment, Gabriella got on stage for a pole dance.
Johnnie, drunk in a booth, recognized her through his blurry vision.
Gabriella wore a two-piece outfit: a white shirt over a black top.
As she danced, she tore off the shirt, leaving just the black top and denim shorts.
She danced wildly, drawing cheers and whistles.
Johnnie sneered and downed his drink.
Gabriella was such a flirt, always needing attention!
After the dance, she sat in a booth, and a guy named Elijah approached her.
They flirted and drank, Elijah's arm around her shoulder.
Johnnie watched, his grip tightening on his glass.
He wanted to separate them but did nothing.
They'd broken up; it wasn't his business anymore.
Feeling stifled, Johnnie downed his drink and left.
In the booth, Gabriella kept drinking, ignoring Elijah's advances.
Seeing no reaction, Elijah got bolder.
He moved his hand to her waist, whispering in her ear.
"Hey, let's go somewhere else to drink?"
He licked her earlobe.
Gabriella finally pushed him away. "Enough, leave me alone."
She thought she could flirt with other men, so when Elijah clung to her, she didn't move.
Gabriella just wanted to prove she could live without Johnnie.
But as soon as Elijah's lips touched her, she got goosebumps.
She actually hated being close to other men!
"What's wrong? You were flirting with me a minute ago, now you're acting all coy."
Elijah's eyes gleamed with lust as he leaned in again, his hand around her waist.
Gabriella's patience snapped. She shoved Elijah away forcefully.
"Don't push it! I told you to leave me alone."
Elijah stumbled, bumping into a chair and falling to the ground.
The commotion drew everyone's attention.
Embarrassed, Elijah got up, his attitude shifting.
"Bitch, you danced like that to attract rich men, right? Think I'm not rich enough? I'll give you twenty grand if you serve me well tonight!"
He grabbed Gabriella's hand, trying to drag her away.
"Let go of me! I just want to drink, not find a man!"
Gabriella, tipsy and in a foul mood, scratched and clawed at Elijah.
His face and arms were soon covered in red marks.
Furious, Elijah grabbed her clothes and raised his hand.
"Bitch, I'm going to beat your ass."
Gabriella, drunk and slow to react, tried to break free but couldn't.
Seeing Elijah's raised hand, she instinctively closed her eyes.
Then she heard Elijah scream, and his grip loosened.
She stumbled backward, but a tight grip on her waist pulled her into someone's arms.
She opened her eyes to see a familiar face.
Gabriella was stunned, staring blankly at Johnnie.
'Am I hallucinating from drinking too much?'
'Why do I see Johnnie?'
Johnnie, with a stern face, shouted at Elijah, who was on the ground, "Want me to break your hand? Get lost!"
Johnnie, as Aaron's assistant, held a high position and naturally exuded an intimidating aura.
Elijah, clutching his almost broken arm, saw Johnnie protecting Gabriella and cursed before leaving.
Johnnie then coldly looked at Gabriella.
Seeing her staring blankly at him, he got even angrier.
"Are you so desperate for a man? Can't do without one? Do you have to be so slutty?"
Johnnie had already left but somehow came back.
If he hadn't returned, who knows what might have happened to Gabriella.
Gabriella snapped out of it, hearing Johnnie's harsh words, and the alcohol rushed to her head.
She pushed Johnnie's hand away and slapped him.
"I didn't ask for your help. So what if I'm slutty, what's it to you? You were all over me just now, can't let go of me, huh? Johnnie, you're really pathetic!"
Johnnie's head turned from the slap, his face burning.
Not from pain, but from shame!
Yes, Gabriella was right, he was pathetic.
Why did he worry about her and come back?
Only to be looked down upon!
If Gabriella hadn't slapped him, he would have slapped himself!
