Chapter 483 Nora Is My Biological Daughter

After hanging up, Suzy held onto her cell phone and wondered, 'If Sandy and Cora are twins, why has their family never mentioned it? But if these two people aren't, then are they just lookalikes? But how could they have a photo together then?'

Thinking about Sandy's behavior after marrying Kenneth, a thought suddenly appeared in Suzy's mind. 'The current Sandy doesn't quite fit the description of a high society lady in her actions and behavior...

'She couldn't be Sandy, but Cora. Could it be that Sandy was the one who died in the car accident? Cora took on Sandy's identity and married Kenneth.'

This thought made Suzy even more excited.

She didn't like Nora and anyone who got close to Nora, including Sandy.

So, she had to seize Sandy's mistake and find a way to expose her.

Suzy smirked coldly, left the bedroom, and remembered Chloe was a guest there, so she decided to go and say hello to her.

In Emma's room.

"Chloe, you have suffered all these years," Emma remarked.

Emma held Chloe's hand tightly, her eyes still red.

Chloe smiled lightly, and said, "No, actually, sometimes being foolish is even more joyful than being normal. Back then, I didn't have to worry about the troubles of the world. I could eat, sleep, and play whenever I wanted. I lived a carefree life."

Emma looked at her with pity, knowing that Chloe didn't want others to pity her.

"Chloe, everything is in the past. True happiness in life comes during old age. I will accompany you, and you will have a happy old age," Emma encouraged.

Chloe glanced at her, feeling touched.

She held Emma's hand tightly, and said, "Emma, it's great to have you as my sister in this life."

"I'm happy to be your sister, too," Emma replied.

They smiled at each other, both with tears welling up in their eyes.

After suppressing her fluctuating emotions, Chloe cut to the chase.

"Emma, I came today to apologize to you," Chloe said in a somber tone.

Emma was a bit puzzled, and asked, "Apologies for what?"

"It's all my fault for keeping you and Nora separated for so many years. I am truly sorry for that," Chloe apologized with guilt.

Emma was once again taken aback, and asked, "Chloe, what are you saying? What do you have to apologize for?"

"Sis, wasn't Nora switched at birth? I had a big role to play in that," Chloe expressed remorse.

Hearing this, Emma said, "Chloe, did you hear from my husband that Nora is my daughter? Actually, you only know one side of the story. Nora is not my daughter."

Chloe was stunned, and asked, "Nora is not your daughter? How is that possible? Back then, Arthur used me to deceive you into traveling with me, and then intentionally caused you to give birth prematurely. After that, he replaced Nora. It was all a deliberate plan by Arthur, seeking revenge against Ebenezer."

Emma was getting confused and didn't react for a moment, but she heard the last sentence clearly.

"You're saying Arthur wanted revenge against Ebenezer? Why did he do that?" Emma asked, baffled.

"Because he liked his sister, Elsa. Back then, Ebenezer unjustly imprisoned Elsa, so Arthur wanted to take revenge on his lover's behalf, which is why he planned all of this," Chloe explained.

Emma stared at her and thought over what she had just said again, feeling a bit confused.

"So, you're saying Nora is my daughter?" Emma asked, seeking confirmation.

"Isn't she?" Chloe also needed clarification on her question.

"She, she is..." Emma replied with a hint of hesitation.

Emma had initially wanted to say that Nora was the result of Ebenezer's one-night stand with another woman.

But then something suddenly flashed through her mind.

If Arthur had swapped her daughter all those years ago, then the young girl who died at such a young age was not her real daughter but rather the daughter of Charles' wife.

Nora was her biological daughter.

This realization made Emma's breath hitch, and she couldn't think for a moment, feeling like a bolt thrown from the blue, causing her brain to roar.

She thought, 'Could it be true? If everything Chloe said is true, then Nora is my biological daughter, isn't she?'

Emma's expression changed rapidly, hyperventilating and her lips trembling with excitement.

"My unfortunate daughter didn't die. Is Nora really my biological daughter?" Emma mumbled.

Chloe remarked with worry, "Sister, what's wrong with you? Don't scare me."

Chloe saw that Emma's expression was off, filled with concern and apology.

Emma snapped back to reality, tightly gripping Chloe's hand, nervous and excited.

"Chloe, is everything you said true? Did Arthur really swap my biological daughter?" Emma asked, repeatedly.

Chloe explained, "I experienced it myself. Arthur conspired with his cousin, who worked as the head nurse at the hospital, and swapped Nora."

Chloe was very certain, and added, "I was just clueless at the time and didn't understand what it meant. It wasn't until Nora cured me and everything played out in my mind that I figured out what happened back then."

Hearing this, Emma instantly burst into tears.

"My unfortunate daughter, it turns out she really is my daughter," Emma remarked with guilt.

She thought, 'What a big joke fate played on me. My biological daughter is right in front of me, yet I didn't recognize her and have been giving her a hard time.'

"Sister, what are you saying? Didn't you already recognize Nora?" Chloe asked, needing clarification.

Emma wiped away her tears and explained, "Chloe, you don't know; there's a story behind all of this."

She recounted the events from her early years and how Charles deceived Ebenezer.

Chloe was shocked. "So, there's still this kind of hidden story in all of this?" she asked Emma.

"Yes," Emma said regretfully, nodding her head.

Emma continued to explain, "Before, Ebenezer wanted Nora to return to our family as my biological daughter, but I strongly opposed it. During this time, I've been making things difficult for her in various ways. I deeply regret it, myself."

As she said that, she raised her hand as if to hit herself.

Chloe quickly stopped her, and said, "Sister, it's not your fault. You just cared too much about that deceased child. If you want to blame someone, blame me. It's my fault that I dragged you into this."

"What are you talking about? It's not your fault. It's that damn Arthur who did such a malicious thing," Emma said angrily.

"Chloe, you should divorce him immediately. Once you divorce him, I will sue him," Emma continued.

Someone as ungrateful as him must be punished.

"I have already divorced him, and he has left with nothing. Sister, let's leave it at that," Chloe said.

Emma frowned. "Chloe, Arthur kept me separated from Nora for over twenty years. Are you telling me just to let it go?" she questioned.
