Chapter 122 Are You Really Samantha's Dad?

The voice was all too familiar—to Nora's shock, she saw Aaron seated in a wheelchair, being pushed in by Noe.

His features bore a stern look, and even in a wheelchair, his presence commanded respect.

"How did he get here?" Nora wondered silently.

"Daddy!" Samantha cried out, rushing into Aaron's arms. "Daddy, they're picking on us!"

The word 'daddy' nearly broke Aaron's heart.

He gently stroked her hair and soothed her, "It's okay; I’m here now."

Samantha sniffled and nodded emphatically, finding solace in his embrace.

Nora watched the scene unfold, bewildered by Aaron's natural response.

Was Samantha calling Aaron ‘daddy’?

And he answered so effortlessly!

As if he really was her father!

"Are you guys okay?" Aaron asked, comforting Samantha before wheeling himself over to Nora and the boys.

Alex and Billy held back from calling Mr. Gordon over for backup.

But they couldn't blow their cover now!

"We're fine," Alex said firmly.

Aaron gave a nod and glanced at Nora.

Nora's eyes flickered, but she kept silent.

Of course, he was an imposter, but she couldn't very well expose her daughter's lie, could she?

Margot eyed Aaron carefully, recognizing his refined demeanor despite his limp, her gaze tinged with disdain.

"Are you truly the father of these three kids?"

Aaron met her stare, his eyes cool and steady.

"Are you hard of hearing? Didn't you catch my daughter calling me 'Daddy'? You made a bet with the kids; now it's time to honor it and kneel to apologize."

Kneel and apologize? That was out of the question!

Margot scoffed and looked down on Aaron with contempt.

"You're probably not their biological father, are you? Only a man with a disability like yours would settle for a second marriage and play stepdad to those bastards."

As her words hung in the air, Margot suddenly felt a sharp pain in her knee.

She found herself kneeling uncontrollably.

Beside her foot lay a Parker pen.

Her face filled with shock as she looked up at Aaron.

He'd thrown the pen to force her to kneel.

"You wouldn't kneel, so I assisted you," Aaron's voice was a cold whisper.

Margot's expression went through a rapid succession of changes.

Supported by a teacher's hand, she stood and lashed out at Aaron.

"You cripple, how dare you hit me!"

"Shut up! If you insult Mr. Gordon one more time, trust me, I will knock some sense into you!" Noe's voice was stern as he warned Margot during her outburst.

Seeing that Noe wasn't joking, Margot swallowed the rest of her tirade.

"Oh, so you two grown men think it's easy to bully a woman alone? Fine, don't leave if you're so tough. Don't think I don't have a husband!"

She was too proud to let it go but feared escalating the issue, so she quickly called her husband.

"Michael, come to the preschool right away; your daughter and I have been attacked!"

Hearing her claim, a teacher looked at Aaron and tentatively asked, "Sir, are you really Samantha's father?"

Aaron shot her a glance. "Yes, I am."

"Then maybe you should apologize to Margot just to make peace."

The teacher only intended to give friendly advice. She was charmed by Aaron's good looks.

Aaron narrowed his eyes slightly. "And why would I do that?"

"Because Margot's husband is a sales manager at Gordon Group. He deals with people of high status; you can't compete with that."

Aaron was silent.

So Margot's arrogance was tied to her husband's position? Was a mere sales manager from Gordon Group influential outside of the company? Well, as the CEO of Gordon Group, he was now curious to meet this imposing sales manager!

Aaron's lips curled into a cold smirk, sensing a chilly gaze upon him.

Turning his head, he locked eyes with Nora's beautiful almond-shaped ones, gleaming with a hint of amusement as if she were watching a play unfold.

What was she implying? Did she think he wasn't managing his staff properly?

Aaron spoke firmly, "No matter one's status or position, fairness should always prevail. Are we supposed to judge right from wrong based solely on someone's social standing?"

"Well, it isn't entirely the case, but unfortunately, that's how it often works in real life. It's crucial to recognize your place and not bite off more than you can chew," the teacher advised once more.

Aaron glanced at her again. "Are you their teacher?"

"Yes," she replied, a blush creeping onto her face.

Despite being handicapped, he was indeed handsome, his look stirring affection in her heart!

Upon observing the teacher's expression, Nora rolled her eyes at Aaron.

In truth, what Mr. Gordon was pondering was to have the principal replace this teacher the next day.

Her values were not solid; she could be a bad influence on the children!

"Daddy, Rosalind's dad is coming tomorrow. The teacher made him sound so fierce. Could he get the police to take us away?" Samantha leaned against Aaron, her voice tinged with anxiety.

After all, both Rosalind and her mother had been injured. Could the police take her brothers away?

Aaron gently patted her head and reassured her softly, "Don't be afraid. I'm here, and I won't let anyone hurt you. Now, can you tell me exactly what happened?"

Samantha nodded and recounted the events precisely.

Aaron listened intently, his handsome face clouding over with concern.

"Daddy, I can't wear my pretty dress and perform on stage," Samantha finished, her little face collapsing in distress.

She couldn't understand—why had the teacher suddenly changed her mind? Was it because she didn't have a father?

Aaron concealed the chill in his demeanor, comforting her softly, "That won't happen. I promise you'll be on stage performing in your beautiful dress."

"Really?"

"When have I ever lied to you?"

Nora stood to the side, her emotions a maelstrom as she listened to her daughter call Aaron 'Daddy' with such natural frequency, his responses equally tender as water.

She couldn't help but wonder at the man's sudden sense of belonging.

If only he wasn't such a womanizer, and without a high-profile status, she might have considered a life with him.

Soon, Margot's husband hurried to the scene.

Michael wasn't particularly tall, his early thirties face marked by acne scars and a slightly greasy complexion.

"Michael, you finally made it," Margot said with a look of distress as she approached him.

"Daddy," Rosalind chimed in, following her.

Michael picked up his daughter, and upon seeing Margot's disheveled state, anger flashed across his face.

"Tell me, who's been messing with you? Do they want to get run out of Houston?"

Upon hearing this, Margot pointed toward Aaron and his companions. "Michael, it was them. See how they've hit me?"

In Michael's arms, Rosalind exclaimed, "Daddy, those triplets are poor; I don't want to go to school with these poor people. Get them out of here!"

"Right, Michael, the ones who hurt our daughter are these three kids. Their mom married a cripple, and just now, that cripple even dared to demand an apology from us! You have to stand up for me and Rosalind!"
