Chapter 647 Illusion

Nora nodded, not hiding the fact that she was hungry and tired again.

In a rush to find Aaron, she and Noe had a quick bite before getting off the plane. They then engaged in a battle of wits with Elara, performed surgery on Ruth, and arrived in this forest. She hadn't eaten anything since this afternoon.

Although Nora's mind was very excited at the moment, her excitement seemed to stimulate her appetite even more.

She was really hungry.

"Nora, stay here; I'll go find something to eat," Aaron got up and said.

"You're still injured; let me go instead." Nora also tried to get up.

Aaron pressed her back down and said, "It's just a minor injury, nothing serious. Stay here and wait for me, OK?"

He was as domineering and forceful as usual, making her sit and wait for his return.

Then Aaron took his phone and left the cave.

Nora knew he was happy at the moment, so she listened to him, sitting by the fire, quietly waiting.

But she waited for half an hour. Aaron still didn't come back.

Nora frowned, feeling a bit uneasy.

She tried to call Aaron with her phone, but unfortunately, there was no signal.

Unable to sit still, Nora put away her phone and left the cave to find Aaron.

"Aaron, where are you?" she said.

She regretted not going to find food with Aaron just now.

How could she have been so overjoyed that she let Aaron go out alone?

With her phone as a light source, Nora walked and called for Aaron, but she didn't see Aaron anywhere.

Where did Aaron run off to?

It was pitch black all around, and even though Nora was brave, she was still a woman and afraid of the dark.

They were still in the forest, especially now, and who knew when a wild beast might suddenly appear.

Swallowing hard, Nora walked nervously, thinking nonsense.

Where did Aaron go?

Did he encounter a wild beast?

Her heart tightened, and she called out loudly again, "Aaron, where are you?"

Her voice echoed in the sky, startling a flock of unknown birds into flight.

Nora tensed up, walking quickly forward, and in the distance, she seemed to see something.

It was not far away, shrouded in mist, obscuring a clear view. .

It seemed like a figure standing ahead.

Nora squinted and tentatively called out, "Aaron, is that you?"

The person in front slowly turned to look at Nora, and it was none other than Aaron.

Nora's face lit up with joy, and she walked quickly towards him, asking, "Aaron, what are you doing here?"

Aaron stared at her intently, his previously sharp eyes now seeming unfocused.

Nora's smile faded slightly, and she asked suspiciously, "Aaron, what's wrong with you?"

Aaron didn't say a word but suddenly grabbed Nora's throat, saying, "Who are you? Why are you pretending to be Nora? Who sent you? Speak!"

Aaron's sudden move made Nora's breath catch, and she widened her eyes, trying to pry his hand off.

"Aaron, what's wrong with you? What pretending? I am Nora!" she said.

Aaron glared at her and said, "How dare you? Do you think you can deceive me just because you have a face exactly like Nora's? I can pick her out in a crowd of thousand. Tell me, who are you?"

He tightened his grip on her throat, leaving Nora breathless and speechless.

Aaron could pick her out in a crowd of thousand.

But when she was real in front of him, he couldn't recognize her.

What was wrong with Aaron now?

How did he suddenly seem to have lost his mind?

Feeling she was almost choked by Aaron, she reluctantly took out a silver needle, preparing to hit his acupoint.

However, she suddenly felt dizzy, as if she had fallen into an abyss.

Looking at Aaron's fierce face in front of her, she widened her eyes.

No, this wasn't Aaron; this was an impostor!

The impostor wanted to kill her!

"Jackson, is that you? If you don't let go, you'll regret it!" Nora squeezed out a sentence from her throat, and then the silver needle flashed, ready to stab the opponent.

Aaron quickly dodged her, his brown eyes full of hostility.

"You still claim you're not a fake, are you, Elara? You are shameless; why do you insist on keeping me here? Tell me, where did you take Nora? if you don't say, I'll kill you today!"Aaron said.

With a swift motion, he threw Nora to the ground as she stumbled.

She immediately covered her neck and started coughing violently.

Her head was buzzing, and she couldn't hear what Aaron was saying. At that moment, she only saw Aaron's terrifying and hostile face.

Of course, Aaron was in the same state at the moment. Because not far from them, there was a bridge. The river under the bridge was rushing, surrounded by white mist, and both of them had inhaled a considerable amount of hallucinogenic gas.

On the other side of the bridge was a flat land.

Meanwhile, Noe and Seraphina were sitting on the flat ground resting.

Noe was too tired from the journey and the late hour, so he leaned on Seraphina's shoulder and dozed off.

Seraphina softly sat up straight, glancing at Noe, raising her hand to push him away. But halfway through, she retracted her hand. Finally, she let Noe lean on her and rest for a while.

Just as she turned her head, she felt a tightness around her waist as Noe's hand naturally wrapped around her.

Seraphina furrowed her brows and glanced at Noe.

Under the starry sky, Noe's thick eyelashes and even breathing indicated he was sound asleep.

Seraphina gazed at him intently, comparing him to Aaron.

Noe's demeanor wasn't as noble and aloof as Aaron's, but he was still quite handsome.

Thinking of Noe's loyalty to Aaron, Seraphina's eyes flickered.

Noe was a good man.

If Noe belonged here, marrying him would be a good idea.

Thinking of marriage, her face flushed slightly, and she looked away.

For Seraphina, a native Lumirian, marriage was the main focus at a certain age.

After marriage, Seraphina would get pregnant, have children, and then raise them until they grew up, and her life was mostly complete.

However, before meeting Aaron and these outsiders, she wasn't interested in dating Lumirian men.

She didn't have a marriage prospect.

And then Aaron suddenly appeared; although she liked him, he already had someone in his heart.
Of course, even if Aaron didn't have someone in his heart, she wouldn't stand a chance.

As for Noe, she was curious to know if he had a girlfriend.

Lost in her thoughts, Seraphina suddenly realized she was getting ahead of herself.

Even if Noe didn't have a girlfriend, he didn't belong here.

As long as Aaron and Nora safely leave the forest, Noe will follow them and go together.

Seraphina raised her eyes slightly, looking at the moon above and sighing.

Her soft sigh made Noe stir.

As he moved, Noe's lips inadvertently brushed against Seraphina's fair neck.
