Chapter 732 Bragging

Ever since the truth about the child came to light, with so much to handle, he had completely forgotten about Sunny.

Aaron smiled knowingly. "So you've let Becky deal with her instead of you?"

Nora nodded. "Yes, I had her go after Sunny's resources, but she said this time Sunny's backer is quite powerful; she couldn't take her resources, so she asked me to go and hold the fort for her."

Upon hearing this, Aaron squinted his brown eyes.

"Becky is trying to take Sunny's resources under the banner of the Hamilton family and the Gordon family."

"Yes." Nora nodded.

"And yet, the brand side still decided to give Sunny the resources?" Aaron was somewhat surprised.

"Yes, so I'm curious. Who is the backer behind Sunny?" Nora said.

Aaron paused for a moment. "I guess her backer is probably not domestic."

Nora also had a similar feeling.

But she gave Aaron a sidelong glance, half-smiling. "You are talking as if the Hamilton family and the Gordon family are invincible nationwide when they team up."

Aaron raised an eyebrow, reaching out to pull Nora into his arms.

"Of course, we are a strong alliance."

Nora chuckled, looking up at the ceiling.

"Look, Some people are bragging again!"

Aaron chuckled. "I'm not bragging; why don't you ask around in the circle and see if they see us as a strong team?"

"Yes, go away and let me get dressed."

Nora didn't want to banter with Aaron, so she pushed him away.

"Do you need help?"

"You go out and wait for me."

Aaron smirked, about to tease her again, when the phone rang.

Hearing the unfamiliar ringtone, Aaron's expression turned slightly serious.

Because it wasn't his phone ringing; it was Joseph's phone.

He was going to meet that boss, so Joseph's phone was beside him.
Aaron took out his phone from his pocket and glanced at it, lips pursed lightly.

It was the number that had contacted him before.

Aaron left the bedroom and answered the call.

"Hello?"

"The boss has landed; he'll be at the Hilton in half an hour."

The puppeteer behind the scenes had arrived early.

"I see."

Aaron hung up, hesitated for a moment, then opened the bedroom door and said to Nora, who was changing clothes. "Darling, the puppeteer behind the scenes is almost at the Hilton; I'll go first."

"Okay, you go first; stay safe," Nora reminded him.

"Okay," Aaron responded and left.
When Nora came out after changing, Aaron had already left in the car.
She hesitated for a moment, thinking that she was going to support Becky later, so she sat in front of the dressing table and applied delicate makeup.
Nora had striking features; even without makeup, she was beautiful.
Now, with a bit of foundation, eyebrow shaping, eye makeup, and pink lipstick on her rosy lips, she suddenly became more charming in the mirror.
Today, Nora deliberately chose a pink silk dress in order to hold the fort.
Such a bright color was hard for ordinary people to pull off.
But on Nora, it exuded luxury and elegance.
The perfect demeanor of an upper-class socialite.
Nora looked at herself in the mirror, smiling.
She got up, took a white trench coat and a purse, then had Frederick drive her to the Hilton.
On the other side, Aaron arrived at the Hilton and entered the reserved private room.
The puppeteer behind the scenes hadn't arrived yet, so he took out an object that looked like a lighter from his pocket and fiddled with it.
For those in the know, it was clear that Aaron wasn't holding a real lighter.
It was a hidden camera disguised as a lighter.
A waiter brought in two cups of coffee.
Aaron sat for a while, and soon, someone pushed the door open.
He adjusted his glasses, and his gaze fell on the newcomer behind the lenses.
Among the people who entered, one of them was Jerry, the man in the photo Alex sent to Nora.
He was the one contacting Joseph before.
Jerry and a few other men were escorting a man.
The man looked to be in his thirties. He had blond hair, blue eyes, and a lean figure.
Aaron swiftly sifted through the information in his head.
Richard had shown him information about the Rothschild family.
The man who entered was Jesse Rothschild, the second son of the current leader of the Rothschild family.
The leader of the Rothschild family had many children, and he was about to step down.
So everyone was waiting to see who would be the next heir.
The most likely candidates were the eldest son of the current leader and this second son, Jesse.
It was said that the two of them had been openly and secretly competing, not getting along.
"Mr. Martinez, sorry to keep you waiting."
Jesse greeted Aaron.
Aaron snapped out of his thoughts, coughed twice. "It's okay, I just arrived too, please have a seat."
Jesse sat on the sofa, looking Aaron up and down.
"Jerry told me you have a cold and a sore throat?" Jesse asked.
"Probably caught a chill after falling into the water; I just saw a doctor; it's nothing serious."
Aaron pretended to be uncomfortable and restrained, coughing twice.
"Mr. Martinez, take care of yourself; after all, we have a long-term cooperation ahead."
Jesse said, then turned to a follower who had come along. "Eugene Baker, go check Mr. Martinez's condition and see if it's serious."
His follower Eugene nodded and took out a pair of white gloves and medical tools from his bag.
"Mr. Martinez, let me check for you."
A cold light flashed in Aaron's eyes behind the lenses.
"Mr. Rothschild is considerate."
Aaron had guessed that Jesse might be vigilant and would check on the spot if he was really sick.
So he had sprayed pepper spray before coming.
Otherwise, he would have been exposed.
After Eugene finished checking Aaron. "It's a throat inflammation, Mr. Martinez; drink more water and have a lighter diet for a while."
Aaron coughed twice, covering his throat. "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Finishing the check, he turned back to Jesse and nodded slightly, indicating that everything was fine.
Jesse understood the gesture and leaned back slightly on the sofa, looking relaxed.
"Too bad. I was planning to have a drink with you tonight, Mr. Martinez. It looks like it'll have to be another day."
Aaron coughed lightly again. "Plenty of time ahead; forgive me for dampening the mood today."
Jesse waved his hand. "It's a small matter; you don't have to be the one to accompany me for a drink."
Aaron glanced at him, his eyes flickering slightly.
It seemed that Jesse had arranged something more important for Joseph.
Aaron picked up the cup of coffee and took a sip, waiting for Jesse's next words.
Sure enough, Jesse leaned forward slightly, his gaze fixed on Aaron.
"When do you plan to finish the task I gave you?"
Aaron's heart skipped a beat.
Jesse had given Joseph a task.
And Joseph hadn't told him.
Aaron pushed up his glasses, furrowing his brows in a pretense of difficulty, remaining silent.
