Chapter 678 Reporting Back to the Wife
Noe stood there with his mouth open, listening to Aaron speak so seriously, and gave an awkward smile.
"Mr. Gordon, thank you for your concern, I..."
"No need to thank me, go deal with your pimple!"
Before Noe could finish, Aaron kicked him in the butt, sending him stumbling forward.
Seraphina was still standing at the door. Seeing Noe lunge towards her, she instinctively caught him.
And then they ended up hugging each other.
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Noe, I helped you fulfill your wish. I'm going to rest now."
Nora's orders must be followed.
To put an end to Noe's bachelorhood, he must find more opportunities for him to spend time with Seraphina!
After saying that, he turned and left, leaving a bewildered Noe standing there, confused.
His wish.
It made it seem like Noe had intentionally asked Aaron to find an excuse to get close to Seraphina!
That Aaron, he was too bad!
Noe's expression changed several times. Realizing he was still holding Seraphina, he quickly let go and took a step back.
Seraphina's body was so soft, especially her chest.
Noe instinctively swallowed. "Mr. Gordon was just joking, and you don't have to mind him. I'm going back to my room."
"Wait, come in. I'll help you with your acne," Seraphina said gently.
"No need," Noe replied with an awkward smile.
Seraphina paused. "No, you don't have to be so afraid of me. I've made it claer that I won't force you to marry me."
After saying that, she turned and went back into the room.
Seraphina was so poised that it made him seem like the one being overly shy and unmanly.
Noe mentally scolded himself, then straightened his back and walked in.
The bedroom was very clean, with a few books on the coffee table.
Noe took a closer look and was surprised.
Besides a medical book, the other books were on the coffee table.
He remembered these were the courses Alex had studied before.
Why was Seraphina reading them, too?
"Seraphina, why are you reading these books?" Noe asked curiously.
"I found that the books here are quite different from home. Since I'm here, I want to learn more to keep up with the pace," Seraphina said softly, bringing over a first aid kit.
She had a great thirst for knowledge.
Noe's eyes showed a hint of admiration. "If you don't understand anything, you can ask me."
Hearing this, Seraphina's eyes lit up. "Really?"
"Of course."
Seraphina bit her lip, and she was a bit shy. "If I say I can hardly understand any of it, will you laugh at me?"
The knowledge here was really too advanced!
Especially those Math books. Reading them was like reading a book in foreign language to Seraphina.
Seeing her slightly flushed face, Noe reassured her, "Why would I laugh at you? It's normal not to understand. After all, our education system here is much more advanced than yours."
"But Alex understands it all. I'm so dumb, not even as good as Alex!" Seraphina said softly.
Noe laughed. "You don't need to feel inferior. Alex isn't an ordinary kid. His IQ is higher than that of an average adult, so it's normal not to be as good as him. Don't worry, I'll teach you slowly."
Hearing this, Seraphina smiled gratefully. "Thank you."
"You're welcome," Noe said cheerfully, waving his hand.
"Lean back a bit and tilt your head up so I can see your acne."
Seraphina hadn't forgotten the main task.
"Okay."
Noe originally thought it didn't matter whether the acne was treated or not.
But since he was already here, he didn't hesitate any longer.
He tilted his head up slightly to make it easier for Seraphina to examine.
Seraphina moved closer, holding Noe's face to examine it carefully.
Because she was so close, Noe could see the tiny pores on her face.
Although Seraphina's skin wasn't as fair as the people here, it was still very good.
Her pores were fine, and her skin had a healthy tan.
Her features were delicate and petite, quite pleasing to the eye.
In his mind, Noe rated Seraphina's looks.
Six or seven out of ten.
"It's inflamed, and the pimple isn't ready to be popped yet. I'll just apply some anti-inflammatory ointment for now."
Seraphina let go of his face, opened the first aid kit beside her, and took out a bottle of ointment.
Noe snapped out of his thoughts. "What's this ointment? Hope it's not something that smells awful."
He still remembered the time when they returned from Lumirians, and Seraphina had given him something to smell to sober him up.
It was horrendous!
"This is my homemade anti-inflammatory ointment. It doesn't smell bad."
Seraphina unscrewed the cap and squeezed out a bit of the ointment. "Tilt your head up a bit."
Since she had already squeezed out the ointment, Noe didn't say anything more and obediently tilted his head, allowing Seraphina to apply the ointment to his pimple.
A cool sensation quickly spread over the area.
Seraphina gently massaged the ointment into his pimple with her fingertips and then instinctively blew on it.
"Okay."
Noe felt a warm breath dampen the fine hairs on his jaw.
A slight itch spread downwards, reaching his Adam's apple.
Noe's Adam's apple bobbed instinctively.
Watching Seraphina as she screwed the cap back on, her focused expression with her eyes downcast, his gaze slowly moved down to her chest.
Suddenly, he remembered the hug they had shared earlier.
The soft sensation seemed to linger in his memory.
Noe's breath hitched, and he quickly looked away.
It seemed he had been overly idle, thinking about such things!
"Thanks. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving now."
Noe gathered his thoughts and prepared to leave.
"Wait," Seraphina called out quickly.
"Is there something else?"
Seraphina hesitated. "Are you going to sleep?"
"Why?"
"If you're not going to sleep yet, can I ask you some questions now?"
So, Seraphina wanted to ask him about the coursework.
Noe had thought she might be trying to seduce him.
Look at him, jumping to conclusions about Seraphina again!
She had already said she wouldn't marry him.
And here he was, always thinking the worst of her.
Noe mentally scolded himself and then sat down.
"Alright, what do you want to ask first?"
Seraphina hesitated. "I want to ask about everything."
Noe glanced at her. "How about this? We make a study plan. What do you think?"
Seraphina sat beside him, her hands neatly placed on her knees, sitting upright like an eager student.
"Okay, what kind of study plan?"
Noe thought for a moment. "We'll go through one book every two days, with one hour of explanation each day, and take Sundays off. What do you think of it?"
"Sounds good, I'll follow your lead."
Seraphina nodded earnestly.
Her obedient and eager-to-learn demeanor inexplicably gave Noe a sense of accomplishment.
He smiled slightly and opened a language book.
"Let's start with language studies today."
"Okay." Seraphina responded gently.
Noe opened to the first page. "Have you read this article?"
"Yes, I have."
"Then tell me your understanding of it."
Outside, Aaron had returned and was eavesdropping by the door.
He frowned slightly. As expected, the soundproofing of this house was too good; he couldn't hear a thing!
Logically, applying ointment to a pimple shouldn't take this long.
Why hadn't Noe come out yet?
Aaron's eyes flickered. Could it be that Noe, despite saying he didn't like Seraphina, was actually desperate for her?
After all, Noe had no experience before, and encountering someone as attractive as Seraphina, he couldn't remain indifferent.
Aaron chuckled.
Now, he could report back to Nora.
