Chapter 437 Do You Want to Be His Girlfriend
With that said, Michelle was about to kiss her.
Evella desperately tried to dodge, both angry and anxious.
"Michelle, let me go! If you don't let go, I'll sue you for sexual harassment!" Evella exclaimed.
Michelle held her with one hand and held the back of her head with the other, preventing her from moving.
"What harassment? Evella, everyone knows I'm pursuing you. This is just a bit of fun; everyone understands!" As he spoke, he leaned down to kiss her lips.
Evella's face turned pale with fear, and she subconsciously closed her eyes.
But instead of the forceful kiss she imagined, she heard a scream.
At the same time, she felt a lightness as the hands that had been restraining her were released.
Evella opened her eyes and saw Michelle being knocked down by someone.
And the person who hit him turned out to be Howard!
Evella tightened her grasp on her clothes, surprised that Howard had intervened.
Seeing more and more people gathering to watch, she hurried over to pull him away.
Evella pleaded, "Howard, stop fighting."
Howard had a cold expression and a menacing aura. He let go of Michelle with a push.
Then he stood up and looked at Evella, asking, "Is everything all right?"
Evella shook her head, and answered, " No, nothing."
Howard looked at her, and once he confirmed that she was okay, he turned his gaze to the man who had risen from the ground.
"Michelle, are you not a man? Doing such a thing to a woman in public, do you think you're too free and want to spend a few days in jail?" Howard asked.
Michelle spat out some blood, wiped the bloodstain off his lip, and gritted his teeth.
"I was wondering who it was. It turns out to be the second son of the Hamilton family! What's the matter? I'm chasing after my woman; what's it to you?" Michelle asked.
"Your woman?" Howard asked, skeptically.
Howard glanced at him coldly and then at Evella, asking, "Do you want to be his girlfriend?"
Evella said, "No way! Only if I were out of my mind would I be his girlfriend! He changes women like he changes clothes every day. I take good care of my body, and I'm afraid of getting diseases!"
"You..." Michelle choked and glared fiercely at Evella.
"What about me? Michelle, apologize to her!" Howard said coldly.
"You want me to apologize? Who do you think you are?" Michelle sneered, "You beat me up like this, and I haven't asked for an apology from you yet!"
Howard looked at him and nodded, saying, "No apology, huh? Fine, I'll call your father right now and let him properly discipline you!"
Saying that, Howard took out his cell phone, pretending to make a call.
Michelle was startled and quickly said, "Don't call, don't call!"
For the past few years, his reputation had been well-known. Last time, he got a girl pregnant, and she demanded that he take responsibility, but he refused. The girl cried, threw tantrums, and even tried to hang herself, which caused trouble with his father.
His father was already very displeased with him. If he found out that he was causing trouble outside again, he would certainly send him abroad.
"Fine, I apologize. I'm sorry." Michelle said.
His apology was insincere.
Evella rolled her eyes at him, not wanting to bother with him anymore.
She was about to pick up the books on the ground when she heard Michelle say, "But you are protecting her so much. What is your relationship with her? Are you pursuing her, too?"
Howard pursuing her?
Evella's bending motion paused, and she subconsciously looked at Howard.
Howard's eyes flickered, and he felt annoyed when he met Evella's guarded gaze.
"Of course not! Can't I help someone in need?" Howard replied.
What kind of look was that from her?
Did she dislike being associated with him that much?
"Well, she is the daughter of a rapist. Even you, a high-minded doctor, wouldn't be interested in her!" Michelle said with an enlightened expression.
Howard's face darkened as he rolled up his sleeves.
"Michelle, it seems like you haven't had enough beating yet, right?" Howard remarked.
Michelle was startled and quickly took two steps back.
"Howard, that's enough! I only held back because I wanted to save face for you. Don't think I'm afraid of you!" Michelle warned.
Howard sneered, "Then why are you hiding? Come here, let's spar!"
Michelle replied, "I don't have the time to play with you."
Michelle took another step back, smirked, and said, "Who would've thought that Howard is quite the player! You just saved the damsel in distress, trying to win Evella's favor.
"It turns out we have the same idea, both wanting to have some fun with this daughter of a criminal. Since you're interested in her, I won't compete with you. Goodbye!"
With that, he ran off.
This bastard, he's really something, talking nonsense!
Howard furrowed his brows and turned to look at Evella. He saw her lower her gaze, a trace of sadness flashing in her eyes.
It seemed that Michelle's words had hurt her.
Howard felt a pang of pity in his eyes. He bent down, picked up the books from the ground, and handed them to Evella.
Howard advised, "He's just a jerk, don't take his words to heart."
Listening to others calling her the daughter of a criminal bothered Evella.
But it was only a momentary sadness, and she quickly put on a smile.
Evella declared, "I won't stoop to his level, not to a trash like him."
From childhood until now, she had heard too many disrespectful words because of her unknown background, and she had become numb to it.
Looking at her smiling face, Howard raised an eyebrow. He hadn't expected her to regain her calm so quickly.
Howard replied, "That's good."
Evella took the books and dusted the dust off.
"Thank you for earlier. I didn't expect you to look so refined but still be quite manly when you got angry," Evella complimented.
Did that comment sound harsh?
Howard asked, "Evella, did I leave a non-masculine impression on you before?"
Didn't he help her a few days ago?
Didn't he resist temptation when faced with beauty?
Why was he not considered a man now?
Evella glanced at him, and asked, "What do you think?"
"I think I'm quite manly," Howard replied.
Evella nodded, and replied, "If you think you're a man, then you are."
That was a dismissive remark.
Howard couldn't help but hold her back as she was about to leave. He asked, "Evella, do you really not want to marry me at all?"
The man had a tall figure and a clear and handsome face.
Evella was momentarily stunned, clutching the book tightly in her arms.
She answered, "I'm still young. I still need to get married. Besides, I'm the daughter of a criminal. I think we're not compatible."
Upon hearing this, Howard furrowed his brow, and said, "What if I say I don't mind all of that?"
Evella was stunned again; looking at the man's handsome features, she asked suspiciously, "Do you want to marry me?"
Wasn't he always against this marriage?
Howard opened his mouth, wanting to say yes, but the words that came out had a different meaning.
"I have seen you naked, so I should take responsibility for you," he said.
Evella's face instantly turned black, glaring at him in embarrassment.
"Howard, I don't need you to take responsibility. You better forget about that night!" she remarked.
What kind of people are they?
They only know how to take advantage of women!
She never wants to have any relationship with any stinking man again!
Watching the woman walk away quickly, Howard looked regretful.
If he couldn't speak, he shouldn't have said anything!
He ruined a good thing!
