Chapter 1092 Overthinking

Wesley was like, "Nah, just chill for now. Let 'em talk all they want."

Elijah felt a rush of excitement and double-checked, "So, no statement?"

Wesley looked ticked off. "Just get to work."

He still hadn't figured out what to do about his thing with Samantha. Needed some time to think it over.

"Alright." Elijah was laughing on the inside.

Not even putting out a statement? Elijah bet their relationship was on the rocks. No statement meant Wesley was dodging the whole thing.

Samantha woke up to the smell of food. No need to guess, Alfred was on breakfast duty.

Samantha smiled, walked out of her room, and peeked into the kitchen.

Alfred was rocking a fitted tank top she had bought him, paired with military pants. Broad shoulders, narrow waist, long legs. His muscles were popping.

'So hot! Wait, what am I thinking? Why am I drooling over Alfred again? Don't forget I'm with Wesley.' Samantha quickly looked away and went to freshen up. By the time she was done, Alfred had breakfast ready.

"Come eat." Alfred had thrown on a shirt, covering up his sexy bod.

"Thanks." Samantha giggled and sneaked a regretful glance at his upper body.

A hint of a smile flashed in his eyes as Alfred pulled out a chair for her, happy to take care of her.

Samantha sat down and took the milk and sandwich Alfred handed her. She ate while habitually checking her phone.

When she saw news about Wesley, Samantha paused mid-chew. She and Wesley were trending overnight.

"What’s up?" Alfred asked, noticing her surprised look.

"Wesley and I are trending." Samantha didn’t look up, still scrolling through her phone.

Alfred frowned and took her phone away. "Finish your breakfast first."

"No."

"Eat first." Alfred was firm.

Samantha pouted. Since she and Wesley were already in the news, there was no rush. She sped up her eating.

"Slow down," Alfred reminded her again.

Samantha glared at him. "Alfred, you're worse than my parents."

Alfred silently smirked and ate with her slowly. But he was thinking about the trending news. 'Samantha and Wesley are trending; are they going public? What should I do next?'

Alfred knew Samantha well. Since photos of her and Wesley together had been taken, she would definitely admit it. That meant he had no chance. The food tasted bland.

Across from him, Samantha swallowed the last bite. "Alright, I'm done. Give me my phone back."

Alfred snapped out of it and handed her the phone. "Samantha, you and Wesley are trending. Are you gonna admit it?"

"Of course," Samantha replied without a second thought.

With that one sentence, she crushed Alfred's last hope. He was quiet for a moment, then cautiously asked, "What if your family doesn’t approve of Wesley? Will you still be with him?"

"That's my call. As long as I like him," Samantha said.

Alfred's heart sank, leaving him totally speechless.

Samantha didn't even notice, too busy reading the news. When she saw a bunch of articles trashing Wesley, she frowned. "How can these people talk such crap? Saying he's mooching off a woman, calling him a live-in son-in-law, it's all BS." She wondered if Wesley had seen it. If he had, he'd definitely be pissed.

Samantha quickly called Wesley, but his phone was off.

'Why is his phone off? Is he busy? Or did he see the news and turn off his phone to dodge the drama?' Samantha felt anxious. She remembered Elijah had left his number, so she called him instead.

The phone rang a few times before it was answered. "Hello?"

Samantha said, "Elijah, it's me."

Elijah replied, "I know. What's up?"

"Is Wesley there? His phone's off," Samantha asked.

"He's in the dressing room getting his makeup done. What's up?"

'So he is working. No wonder his phone's off.' Samantha said, "I saw that Wesley and I are trending. Has he seen it?"

"He has. He's not in a good mood right now."

Samantha felt anxious. "Is it because of the crap in the news?"

"Yeah," Elijah said, "Wesley's a proud guy. It's not easy for him to get where he is today. He's talented and definitely doesn't want to be labeled as a gigolo."

Samantha responded, "I know, it's all nonsense. Tell him not to overthink it. Have him call me when he's done."

"Okay." Elijah hung up, a mocking smile on his lips.

She thought, 'Let the news simmer for a while. The longer it takes, the deeper Wesley's emotional burden will grow. The deeper the resentment, the harder it will be for them to reconcile.'

In the dressing room, Wesley was getting his makeup done. He was invited to record a music show today.

Also invited was Orlando Ortega, Robert's apprentice, who had competed with him before.

Orlando arrived late, just as Wesley finished his makeup. Their eyes met, and a hint of mockery flashed in Orlando's eyes. "Wesley, long time no see. You look better. Having a rich girlfriend really makes a difference, huh?"

Orlando stood in front of Wesley, looking him up and down. "To promote you, that Gordon family girl must have invested a lot in you. I didn't realize you were so cunning, quietly hooking up with the richest man's daughter in Youston.

I'm curious, what does that Gordon family girl see in you? You must be really good at groveling. After all, people from humble backgrounds are the best at flattering."

When Wesley arrived, he noticed many staff members giving him strange looks. They must have seen the news and were waiting for a show.

Wesley was already in a bad mood, feeling a burning anger inside. Orlando's taunts instantly ignited that fire.

Before Orlando could finish, Wesley punched him.

Orlando didn't expect this. He yelped and staggered back two steps, wiping his bleeding mouth and spat. "Wesley, you gigolo, can't take the truth? You're something else."

"Say that again!" Wesley, enraged, swung at Orlando again.

Orlando didn't back down and quickly retaliated. The two were soon entangled in a brawl.
