Chapter 569 She Will Fall for Someone Else

Howard was very happy now, saying, "Okay, let's do as you say."

"So, we've made a decision," Evella said.

She thought for a moment and added, "If one day we fall for someone else, we can't entangle each other; we should break up happily."

'She really thinks she will fall for someone else?' Howard thought.

He nodded and said, "Okay, I'll listen to you."

Howard thought, 'I need to pretend to be her boyfriend for now. Otherwise, she'll go on blind dates with other men.'

'As for later, I need to consult Aaron more.'

'I need to learn from him how to make her fall in love with me so that she only has eyes for me!'

"Let's go; come with me to get the auction items," Howard said, taking Evella's hand.

Evella frowned and pulled his hand away, saying, "Howard, didn't we agree that you wouldn't be rude to me?"

Howard said, "I thought you meant rudeness like kissing, hugging, and sleeping together."

Evella said seriously, "Holding hands is not allowed either."

Howard thought for a moment and said, "Since we are a couple, we should pretend to be a little closer. If we are too distant, I think your grandmother and family will definitely suspect us."

Upon hearing this, Evella thought for a moment and said, "You're right."

Howard smiled and held Evella's hand again while she was still thinking.

"Let's go," he said.

His hand was dry and warm.

Evella looked at their intertwined hands, her heart beat racing.

Aaron was leading Nora into the VIP room to inspect the auction items he had just purchased.

Archer and others were with them.

Nora glanced back at Howard and saw that he was already holding Evella's hand, feeling somewhat surprised.

Nora thought, 'What's going on?'

'They're moving fast.'

'How come in just a few minutes, Howard is already holding Evella's hand?'

Aaron also noticed Howard and Evella holding hands and narrowed his eyes.

Aaron thought, 'Howard, don't steal my thunder today.'

'At least not tonight!'

'Let me finish my thing.'

They entered the VIP room, and the staff handed them the items they had each won.

Nora took a step back and, as Howard went to check the auction items, she pulled Evella aside.

"Evella, I just saw you holding hands with Howard. Tell me honestly, what's your relationship now?" Nora asked.

"We..." Evella blinked, hesitating whether to tell Nora the truth.

She didn't want to lie to Nora, but Archer and Gary were right there.

Evella thought, 'If they find out that Howard and I are pretending to be a couple to deceive Grandma, it will be troublesome.'

Evella silently apologized to Nora in her heart and said, "Nora, I think Howard is nice, so I gave him a chance to pursue me."

Upon hearing this, Nora raised her eyebrows, asking, "Really? So, are you two dating each other?"

Evella smiled awkwardly and said, "Yes, we are."

Harper overheard their conversation and quickly walked over, asking, "Evella, are you and Mr. Howard a couple now?"

Evella felt embarrassed but had to admit, "Yes, we are."

Archer and Gary, who had finished checking the auction items, also approached.

Archer asked, "Evella, is what Harper just said true?"

Gary added, "Evella, are you sure you want to date Howard?"

Everyone was looking at her, making Evella very nervous.

At that moment, Howard approached, holding Evella's hand.

He said, "Archer, Gary, I announce that Evella will officially be my girlfriend from today on."

Archer and Gary looked at him, and Gary paused for a moment and said, "Howard, you finally got the golden apple from my family."

Harper couldn't help but laugh.

"Congratulations, Mr. Howard, you better treat Evella well, "Archer added, "Did you hear that?"

'Howard is moving too fast, defeating Kevin all of a sudden. This is ridiculous.' Archer thought.

Evella couldn't look at her two brothers, afraid they would realize she was pretending to be Howard's girlfriend.

However, Howard said happily, "Don't worry, I'll take good care of Evella."

After saying that, he let go of Evella and handed her the pen he had just bought.

"Evella, here's the pen you like; it's for you," Howard said.

Evella was stunned and looked at him, saying, "Don't tell me you spent six hundred thousand dollars just to buy it for me when you were competing with Kevin!"

Howard nodded, saying,  "Yes."

Evella was speechless, and then she said, "You're so silly, being tricked out of so much money."

She thought Howard also really liked the pen, so he spent six hundred thousand dollars on it.

She didn't expect he just wanted to buy it for her.

"As long as you like my gift, it's worth it," Howard smiled.

Howard was very handsome, and Evella looked at him, feeling like her heart pounding faster again.

"Thank you," Evella replied.

Aaron, who was nearby, put away the ring box and felt relieved.

'They've just established a couple of relationships; Howard didn't propose to Evella, stealing my thunder,' Aaron thought.

"Let's go, let's go eat something." Aaron put his arm around Nora's shoulder.

"Okay, "Nora said happily.

'Howard finally has a girlfriend!' she thought.

She was happy for Howard.

They all left the VIP room.

Howard continued to hold Evella's hand.

Evella felt shy and whispered, "Howard, you don't have to keep holding my hand; everyone already knows our relationship."

Howard furrowed his brow and didn't let her go.

"To act convincingly, we have to. We have just become a couple, and this is the time we should be most affectionate; we can't just hold hands once!" he said.

He said seriously, and Evella was charmed by him again, thinking he was right, so she let him hold her hand.

Howard chuckled to himself, thinking, 'I've been with Aaron for a long time.'

'It seems I've learned how to pursue girls!'

'Of course, I'm an excellent man; I excel in everything I do!'

After the auction, there was a charity banquet.

The banquet was buffet-style.

Melodious music filled the hall as guests gathered to eat, drink, and chat.

The banquet hall was large, with a dance floor specially set up for guests to dance.

"Nora, let's go dance a bit, too, "Aaron said.

He put his arm around Nora and walked towards the dance floor.

Nora smiled and didn't refuse.

Archer also took Harper to dance.

Gary, without a partner, went to a corner to drink.

Howard, of course, would take the chance to dance with Evella.

"Evella, I'd like to dance with you!" he said.

"I..." Evella stuttered.

"Evella, we're a couple..." Howard said.

"Okay, you don't have to remind me again; I didn't refuse you," she replied.
