Chapter 1086 Billy Called via Video Chat

Compared to Samantha's shyness, Wesley was all hyped up, itching to get a little closer to her.

"Hey, Samantha, now that we're stuffed, how about we catch a movie?" Wesley suggested.

"Sure," Samantha shrugged, no biggie.

Wesley plopped down next to her, flicked on the TV, and picked out some sappy romance flick.

The opening tune was kinda nice. He scooted closer, wrapped an arm around her, and pulled her in tight.

Samantha blushed but didn't pull away. She stayed nestled in Wesley's arms, eyes glued to the screen.

Outside, Alfred lurked in the shadows, spotting only Elijah leaving the house. He whipped out his phone and shot off a text: [It's go time.]

The movie was just a front. Wesley had picked a romance film, hoping to set the mood for some snuggle action with Samantha.

He held her tighter, playing with her fingers, her scent making his heart race.

"Samantha, you thirsty?" Wesley asked.

"I'm good," Samantha was totally into the movie.

Wesley turned her face towards him, lifting her chin with his finger, his eyes darkening. "I'm kinda thirsty."

His moves and look made Samantha's heart skip a beat. She knew what was coming. "I'll get you some water."

"Nah, I got another way to quench my thirst." Wesley tilted his head, eyes locked on her lips, ready to dive in.

Samantha knew he was about to kiss her. She closed her eyes, waiting for it. Suddenly, her phone buzzed with a video call. Startled, she pushed Wesley away.

The moment was wrecked, and Wesley scowled. "Your phone?"

"Yeah, lemme check it." Samantha grabbed her phone and saw it was a video call from Billy.

Her heart raced, and she jumped up. "It's my brother. I gotta go."

If Billy found out she was at Wesley's, he'd flip out.

Seeing her bolt, Wesley got even more annoyed. "Samantha, why can't you stay? Why can't we just tell your family we're dating?"

Samantha declined Billy's call. "It's not that. If Billy knows I'm here, he'll probably show up tonight to grill us."

Wesley sighed, "Then let's just go public. Samantha, I'm tired of sneaking around."

Samantha shook her head. "No, Wesley, you don't get it. My family will interrogate you until you can't take it."

She knew her family wasn't too fond of Wesley. She was scared they'd scare him off.

"Samantha, you're an adult. Aren't they being a bit much?" Wesley grumbled.

Samantha didn't like him dissing her family. "Wesley, they're just looking out for me. Don't talk about them like that."

Billy's call came in again. Samantha didn't waste any time. "Wesley, I gotta go."

She darted to the door, leaving Wesley speechless.

Watching the door slam shut, Wesley's face twisted in frustration. He thought, 'Is it really her family that's gonna grill me, or is she just not that into me for the long haul?'

Across the hall, Elijah heard the door and peeked out, catching Samantha's hurried exit. She raised an eyebrow. 'Why's Samantha bailing? Did they have a fight?'

Elijah didn't rush over to Wesley. She was glued to the news, keeping tabs on those two fangirls who'd been tailing Wesley all afternoon. They better not let her down.

And they didn't. The fangirls posted a video of Wesley and Samantha from their afternoon together, along with a juicy article.

The article detailed Wesley and Samantha holding hands from the Gourmet Restaurant to the school, then to Wesley's workplace, and finally back to River View Estate.

Since Wesley lived at River View Estate, they speculated that he and Samantha were shacking up.

The fangirls were just regular folks, not influencers, so the post didn't blow up right away. But Elijah, always on the lookout for Wesley-related gossip, spotted it fast.

Elijah grinned and started spreading the news just as she had planned.

Samantha had helped Wesley edge out Robert before, and Robert's fans were already salty about it. So, Elijah used her burner account to drop the link in Robert's fan group and started roasting Wesley.

Elijah commented: [No wonder Samantha helped Wesley push out Robert; they're totally dating.]

[Wesley's got it made. He's a nobody, but thanks to Samantha, the Gordon family's princess, he's living the high life.]

[Living off a woman, huh? Now they're even living together. Wesley's aiming to be the Gordon family's live-in son-in-law.]

Elijah was laying it on thick because she knew Wesley's type—both insecure and proud.

Wesley hated when people said he was only successful because of connections, especially if it was because of a woman like Samantha. Once the news spread, his pride would definitely take a hit.

Samantha had no clue Elijah was plotting against her and Wesley. After leaving the building, she called Billy back. "Billy, why'd you call me so many times?"

It was a video call, and Billy was standing in the garden of a villa. "You didn't text all day. Mom's worried and asked me to video call you. Is that a problem?"

He scrutinized Samantha and asked, "You didn't answer earlier. Were you up to something shady?"

Samantha rolled her eyes. "You're just guessing. What shady stuff could I be doing?"

Billy smirked, "Like secretly dating a guy behind our backs."

Samantha snorted, "That's my business."

Billy narrowed his eyes, "Where are you? Are you really seeing someone?"

Samantha wasn't about to admit it. "Stop guessing. I just finished dinner and went for a walk. Is that a crime?"

Billy didn't call her out. "Where's Alfred? Isn't he with you?"

"He's busy flirting with some chick," Samantha pouted, but then a voice came from the side. "Samantha."
