Upon hearing Nora's question, Kevin was slightly surprised.
"How did you know?" he asked.
Nora smiled and explained, "I am a herbalist. Just by looking at you, I noticed something."
Kevin suddenly realized and remarked, "You are truly impressive."
Nora chuckled and offered, "Would you like me to take a look at it?"
"Sure," Kevin became interested.
Nora motioned for him to extend his right hand, and she began diagnosis.
After a moment, she withdrew her hand and said, "Mr. Kevin, you recently underwent a minimally invasive cardiovascular surgery."
Upon hearing this, Kevin was visibly shocked.
Because he was an influential person, his surgery was conducted in secret.
But just by checking his pulse, she knew instantly! Her medical skills were highly advanced.
For a moment, Kevin looked at Nora with astonishment in his eyes. He sat up slightly and asked, "Ms. Smith, do I have any other health issues?"
Nora replied, "Your overall health is fine at the moment, but if you don't treat your insomnia, it may cause a domino effect on various bodily functions, where any minor disturbance could lead to a collapse."
Upon hearing this, Kevin's expression turned serious. He had seen many doctors who had said the same thing. However, his insomnia was closely related to his work and lifestyle.
The doctors had said that unless he stopped working, there might be a possibility for his insomnia to improve. It was only a slim chance if he stopped working while he was young.
"I know. I have seen many doctors, but none of them have been able to treat my insomnia effectively," he revealed.
Nora frowned for a moment and said, "Mr. Kevin, I can prescribe a medication for you. As long as you take the prescribed medication regularly, your sleep should improve significantly after two months."
Upon hearing this, Kevin's eyes lit up, but he still had a hint of doubt. "Really? Just by taking the medication you prescribe, my insomnia will improve greatly and I don't need to take time off work or receive any psychological counseling?"
Nora smiled as she replied, "Yes if you trust me, you can give it a try. Of course, if you don't trust me, I won't mind."
"I trust you," Kevin stated as he thought about how she could accurately tell that he had surgery, he believed her words.
Nora asked the server to bring a pen and paper and wrote him a prescription.
Kevin looked at it and saw the two versions of the prescription in both languages, immediately increasing his favorable impression of Nora.
Ms. Smith is indeed a detail-oriented woman, he admired.
He asked his assistant to put away the prescription and then engaged in a lively conversation with Nora.
Seeing the smile on Kevin's face, Edric wondered if was Nora getting close to Kevin to help him secure the deal with this client?
If that were the case, he would be grateful.
Edric asked the server to bring the food, and soon, all the dishes were served.
"Mr. Kevin, let's eat and chat," Edric invited.
Kevin nodded, looked around, and then remembered Anna. "Edric, didn't you say that Miss Anna's band would come? Where are they?" he asked.
Edric looked apologetic and said, "I'm so sorry; Anna has something going on today and probably can't make it."
The smile on Kevin's face faded slightly, and he seemed displeased.
"Edric, the most important thing for a businessman is to keep one's word. You said that Anna's band would personally perform for me today, so I turned down other people's invitations. I'm quite disappointed," Kevin remarked.
"I apologize, I apologize. It's my fault," Edric admitted apologetically.
Kevin only smiled faintly, clearly showing a bit of detachment.
At that moment, his assistant received a call from Anna. "Mr. Kevin, it's a call from Miss Anna," the assistant announced.
Kevin's eyes lit up, and he took the phone. "Miss Anna... What? Is she injured? How did that happen?" he inquired anxiously.
Nora chewed on her food and felt Kevin's gaze on her. It seemed that Anna had told Kevin that she got injured because of her.
"I understand, take good rest," Kevin said over the phone.
As the call with Anna ended, Kevin handed the phone back to his assistant. Then, he looked at Nora and questioned her, "Ms. Smith, did you cause Miss Anna's injury?"
Nora asked, "Did she tell you?"
Kevin's face grew cold as he spoke, "She said she was already here waiting for me. Due to a personal grudge, you almost crippled her hand. She's just finished treating her hand at the hospital. She mentioned that she wanted to continue playing for me, but she couldn't use her hand properly, so she apologized for it."
Upon hearing this, Nora nodded without hesitation and said, "What she said is true; I did it."
Kevin's expression became even colder. He looked at Edric and said, "Edric, you should know that the only reason I agreed to meet up was out of respect for Miss Anna. It seems that you're not sincere in working with me, so there's no need for further discussions."
After saying that, he stood up and prepared to leave.
Edric was about to say something but Nora beat him to it. "Wait a moment, Mr. Kevin, can you let me explain the reason behind my actions? If you still think it's my fault after listening, then you can leave," she suggested.
Kevin's footsteps paused, and he looked at her. "Then go ahead, tell me, what reason could justify you hurting someone?" he questioned.
Nora glanced at Jenny and said, "It's like this, Jenny is my best friend, and Miss Anna knows that Edric and Jenny are in a romantic relationship, and yet she still interferes with their union. Is it wrong for me to defend my friend and teach her a lesson?"
Upon hearing this, Kevin frowned, somewhat surprised.
He looked at Edric and questioned, "Edric, is what Ms. Smith said true? Did Miss Anna interfere in your relationship with your girlfriend?"
Edric nodded in agreement and explained, "Yes, Anna was my first love, she came back this time saying she wanted to get back together with me, but I already have a girlfriend, naturally, I didn't agree."
"So you let Ms. Smith hurt her?" Kevin asked.
"I..." Edric stammered as he tried to look for the words to explain himself.
"Edric never asked me to do it," Nora remarked.
"Mr. Kevin, I've seen Anna seduce Edric more than once. She knew Edric was going to talk to you about cooperation, so she deliberately used this matter to get close to Edric. I don't like her, so I taught her a little lesson," Nora explained confidently.
With that, Kevin's expression softened slightly.
"How did you teach her a lesson?" Kevin asked, curiously.
Nora took out her treatment equipment. "Mr. Kevin, would you like to try my skills used for treatment?" she asked.
The assistant beside them was startled. Kevin, on the other hand, smiled, finding Nora quite interesting.
"Is this your weapon?" he inquired.
Nora smiled as she answered, "You can say that. If Mr. Kevin doesn't mind, we can have another entertainment after dinner. You probably suffer from frequent headaches due to insomnia. I can use my skills to alleviate your headaches."
Upon hearing this, Kevin's eyes lit up."I've heard of treatment techniques! Ms. Smith, can you really alleviate my headaches?"
