Chapter 648 Do Anything For You

Seraphina's body stiffened, feeling as if she had been struck by an electric current, tingling all over.

She held her breath, looking down at Noe.

But Noe was still fast asleep, completely unaware.

Was Noe doing this on purpose?

Many outsiders were quite flirtatious; was Noe like that, too?

Seraphina looked at Noe's long eyelashes, hesitated for a moment, and reached out to touch them.

At that moment, she faintly heard some commotion from across the river.

She turned her head and saw Nora being pushed to the ground by Aaron.

The situation was obviously that both of them were trapped in an illusion.

Seraphina's spirits lifted, and she quickly nudged Noe. "Wake up, they're coming out!"

At this moment, Noe was still immersed in a deep sleep.

He had been tense all day, just walked for over an hour, and was really exhausted.

So drowsiness overcame him, and he unconsciously used Seraphina as a pillow, sleeping soundly.

He even had a dream. In his dream, he held a woman, her face obscured, her scented breath, stirring a primal desire deep within him.

Single for twenty-eight years, Noe was filled with pent-up desire!

When he heard a woman's voice in his ear, he grumbled and rubbed his neck against hers in discontentedly.

"Don't be noisy," he said, even kissing her.

The wet sensation made Seraphina stiffen again, almost letting out a sound.

She covered her mouth, swallowed hard, and then pinched Noe hard.

She shouted, "Wake up, Nora and Aaron are in danger!"

The pain jolted Noe, making him sit up abruptly.

Because he exerted too much force, his head bumped into Seraphina's chin.

Seraphina groaned in pain, looking at him with a resentful expression, holding her jaw.

Noe's hazy mind gradually cleared. Seeing that he was still holding onto Seraphina's waist, he was suddenly alarmed and stood up, saying, "Sorry for what just happened. I was really too tired."

Meanwhile, across the river, Nora and Aaron, trapped in the illusion, mistook each other for enemies.

Nora got up from the ground, glaring at Aaron and saying, "Jackson, just because you've taken on Aaron's appearance doesn't mean you can replace him. I've found him, and you'd better be prepared because we are going to expose your true identity when we return!"

Similarly, Aaron glared at Nora with hostility and said, "Elara, get out of my way; Nora has arrived; don't think you can trap me here!"

Both of them were shouting, and Noe vaguely heard the commotion, looking across the river in shock.

"They're coming out!" Noe said.

Seraphina touched her chin. "Yes, that's why I woke you up."

The recent bump almost made her bite her tongue. Fortunately, her tongue reacted quickly and retracted. It was just that her chin hurt.

"What are we waiting for? Didn't you say making some noise would wake Nora and Aaron up? Hurry up and do something!" Noe urgently spoke, then looked around and picked up a large stone from the ground and threw it into the river.

He wanted to create some commotion to bring Aaron and Nora back to their senses.

But the river was deep, and the water flow was swift. The large stone Noe threw in couldn't even splash a bit of water.

What could they do?

Noe tentatively called out, "Mr. Gordon, Dr. Smith, can you hear me?"

However, Nora and Aaron, in the illusion, couldn't hear Noe's call at all, still glaring at each other as if they were about to fight.

Just when Noe was extremely anxious, he heard a sharp whistle beside him.

The sudden sound startled him, and he instinctively touched his ear and took a step aside.

At that moment, Noe was standing by the river.

There was a damp moss under his feet, and as he took a step, he stepped on the moss.

Then, Noe lost his balance and fell to the ground.

Because he was standing very close to the river and on a slope, his slip sent him rolling down towards the river.

Noe screamed.

His screaming startled Seraphina, who was about to whistle again. She swiftly lunged forward, grabbing Noe's hand urgently as she exclaimed, "Hold on to my hand!"

Noe was hanging on the riverbank. He closed his eyes, looking terrified.

Seeing Seraphina holding his hand with one hand and grabbing a few protruding a tree branch with the other, he couldn't help but swallow hard.

He said, "Seraphina, please don't let go, or... well, just let go, don't let me drag you down!"

Noe thought the branch she was holding onto couldn't support both of them and was about to break.

He was afraid of pulling her into the river.

Little did he know that the branch would break, but Seraphina had her feet hooked on the bank and was using the grass to balance her body.

So even if it broke, it wouldn't matter.

"Are you sure you want me to let go? There might be crocodiles down there," Seraphina suddenly said.

Noe, who was initially bold, suddenly changed his tune.

Forget about his dignity, he pleaded, "Miss, please don't let go; I don't want to feed the crocodiles!"

Seraphina chuckled, "Why are you so timid?"

Noe wasn't in the mood for banter at this critical moment. He said, "Stop the chitchat, pull me up quickly. As long as you save me, I'll do anything for you!"

He said he would do anything for her.

Seraphina blinked and looked steadily at the Noe below.

Did Noe know that in Lumirians, a man offering to do anything for a woman meant he was willing to marry her?

Seraphina said, "Hold on to me; I'll pull you up."

Setting aside her thoughts, Seraphina let go of the branch she was holding onto, grabbed Noe's hands tightly, and slowly pulled him up.

Noe widened his eyes, watching as Seraphina effortlessly pulled him up, wondering if she could walk on air.

Without any support, she effortlessly pulled him up onto the bank.

As soon as Noe's butt hit the ground, his heart sank.

Looking at Seraphina's slender arms and legs, which seemed to possess infinite strength, he felt admiration and curiosity toward her.

Noe said, "Thank you. I didn't expect you, looking so slim, to be so strong."

Seraphina sighed and wiped the sweat from her forehead, feeling quite exhausted.

Thanks to her years of running in the mountains, her stamina was good.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to support her body and pull Noe up onto the bank.

Just as she was about to say something, Noe had already turned his gaze toward the bridge and said, "Did you whistle just now? Are they awake?"

At that moment, on the other side of the river, Aaron and Nora were somewhat awakened by the sharp whistle.

"Aaron."

"Nora."

The two of them came together.

Aaron embraced Nora, looking at the white mist lingering around the bridge. Fragments of their fight just now were still playing in his mind.

Suddenly, his expression turned serious, and he covered Nora's mouth and nose with his hand, saying, "Nora, this mist seems to have hallucinogenic effects."

Nora also noticed this and quickly said, "I'll do it myself; cover your own mouth and nose."

Aaron nodded, held his breath, and covered his mouth and nose.

Meanwhile, Seraphina, on the other side of the river, blew another sharp whistle, catching the attention of the two.
