Chapter 708 How Could You Fall for This Woman
Evella was excited, and without much thought upon hearing Joseph's words, she nodded vigorously.
"Thank god you are alive."
Richard, on the side, observed the softness in Joseph's eyes, and his gaze shifted slightly.
Evella didn't catch on, but he sensed something.
Joseph was implying that Evella was his pillar of strength to keep going.
This hinted that now that he had survived, he wouldn't hide his feelings for Evella anymore.
With this realization, a hint of worry crossed Richard's eyes.
Previously, he had leaned towards Joseph, hoping Evella would marry him.
After all, Joseph was indeed a rare good man.
But now, it was evident that Evella's heart belonged to Howard.
And Howard was indeed impressive in all aspects.
Aware of their mutual affection, Richard didn't want Joseph to interfere at this moment.
"Are you hungry? I'll go change and then cook for you." Joseph gazed deeply at Evella.
Richard, back to his senses, interjected before Evella could speak, "Joseph, you just narrowly escaped death, still injured. You shouldn't cook right now. Instead, let's call Dr. Smith and Howard to celebrate together."
Joseph glanced at Richard, pushed up the gold-rimmed glasses on his nose, and remained silent.
Evella chimed in. "Yes, Joseph, you're still injured. You need to rest more. Let's go out to eat."
Upon hearing this, Joseph nodded gently. "Alright, I'll listen to you."
Evella smiled and took out her phone to call Nora.
At that moment, Nora was watching entertainment news.
It was news about fans of Sunny welcoming her at the airport.
Previously, Sunny had been scalded by Suzy on set and had to take a break.
During that time, Sunny had undergone cosmetic procedures abroad, and now that her face had recovered, she returned.
Upon learning this, Sunny's fans gathered to welcome her.
The scene was grand, blocking the airport passageways tightly.
Nora watched Sunny, who looked every bit like a top-tier star with a mask and sunglasses, and raised an eyebrow.
Five years ago, Sunny had impersonated her and gained many benefits from Aaron. It was time for the truth to come out.
Otherwise, both she and Aaron would be victims!
Nora was just pondering over this issue when Evella called.
Nora answered, learning about the dinner invitation, and gladly accepted without hesitation.
After hanging up, she called Becky.
Becky's assistant answered the call.
The assistant informed her that Becky was in a shoot.
Nora replied, "Ask her to make time to call me back."
"Alright."
After the call, Nora checked the time and realized it was time to leave. She stood up and asked Frederick to take her to the Whispering Willow Restaurant.
On the way, she received a call from Becky.
"Nora, did you call me?"
"Yes."
"What's up? Do you need something?"
"Yes, I have a task for you."
Nora got straight to the point.
"What is it?"
"Keep an eye on Sunny's activities, and see what endorsements she's taking up and any good scripts she's getting. Then, stop them."
Upon hearing this, Becky let out a sigh.
"Nora, you make me do this again!"
Nora smiled, teasing. "What's again?"
"First, you had me deal with Suzy, and now you want me to handle your fiancé's ex-girlfriend?"
Nora shifted in her seat comfortably.
"Are you willing to do it?"
Becky hesitated for a moment, then coughed lightly. "Nora, it might be a bit difficult. You have no idea how busy I am lately. I'm swamped with scripts and endorsements. I might not have the time for this."
At this, Nora raised an eyebrow. "Are you that busy?"
"Of course, have you forgotten whose sister I am?" Becky retorted!
If one didn't know any better, they'd think Nora and Becky were real sisters.
But who knew that Nora and Becky had a tumultuous past?
Hence, more friends meant more paths.
Nora sighed playfully. "Looks like I can't persuade you."
Becky chuckled. "How about you sweet-talk me a bit? I might consider helping you again."
Nora laughed. "Impossible."
Becky teased. "Is it that you won't, or you're just not willing? I bet you save all your sweet words for your man!"
This remark brought a scene to Nora's mind of Aaron on the bed, coaxing her to say sweet things.
Nora blushed at the memory.
She halted her thoughts and asked, "So, will you help or not?"
"I'll help. Even if I'm busy, I'll make time. After all, you're my benefactor sister. I'm not that rude. I'll definitely lend a hand to you!"
The mention of a benefactor reminded Nora of Aaron's Sugar Mommy.
Nora blushed again.
It seemed like Aaron had influenced her deeply!
Clearing her throat, Nora suppressed her romantic thoughts. "It's settled then. You go ahead and snatch Sunny's opportunities. The Hamilton Group and the Gordon Group will back you up."
Becky teased. "It sounds like you're about to eliminate a rival in love."
Nora smirked. "Sunny is not a rival in love."
Though Sunny was a thief.
"She's not a rival in love, but she is your fiancé's ex-lover." Becky teased.
Not even an ex-lover, Sunny was a shameless thief.
Nora thought to herself, too lazy to explain to Becky.
"Alright, that's settled. I'll hang up now."
"Just a moment," Becky called out.
"Is there something else?"
"It's about Betsy. She's been blacklisted recently. Was that your doing too?" Becky inquired.
Nora raised an eyebrow. "I don't need to do this. She had tarnished her own reputation, The entertainment industry won't have a place for her anymore."
Thanks to Margaret, Betsy's scandals were all over the place.
Actress like Betsy were no longer employable.
Moreover, the high-ranking officials who were implicated alongside Betsy wouldn't want her to tarnish their reputations further.
So, Betsy's career was ruined.
"I'm curious, how did your fiancé end up with such a woman? It doesn't seem like his style."
