Gary's gaze shifted to Timothy, a question lingering in his eyes. "Timothy," he began, "is it true?" Timothy responded with a dry chuckle, "Let's table this discussion for later, Gary." He hadn't ventured here to dissect that particular matter. There was a more pressing issue that demanded immediate attention.Timothy's gaze hardened as he turned to Luna. "Luna," he demanded, "what is happening here? Why did I summon you? Have you forgotten our father's warning?"
Luna's expression faltered at his words. She had been the instigator of Aiden's previous shenanigans, which had led to a temporary halt in several collaborations between the Hamilton and Moore families. Consequently, her father had instructed her elder brother to bring her here to apologize to Nora and seek her forgiveness.Her father's warning still echoed in her ears - if she failed to secure Nora's forgiveness, not only would her potential union with Gary be jeopardized, but she would also be banished abroad, never to return. With this daunting thought in mind, Luna finally found her voice. "I'm sorry," she muttered.Nora glanced at her, her voice steady and calm. "I'm sorry, but I don't accept insincere apologies." She had no need for such hollow words, especially from someone who hadn't even recognized their error. "Nora, don't push your luck!" Luna retorted, her anger flaring. "I never apologize to anyone! Don't take advantage of my situation!" Nora remained unruffled, her voice steady. "Luna, perhaps you should research the appropriate way to apologize before returning."Luna was taken aback, but before she could respond, Timothy interjected. "Ms. Smith is correct, Luna. I can't fathom what my parents were thinking, wanting me to marry a woman like you. I'm going to confront them right now!" With that, he strode away, leaving a stunned Luna in his wake."Gary, wait!" Luna attempted to follow him, but Timothy held her back. "Please, Luna, stop making a spectacle of yourself. Do you really want to be banished by Dad, never to return?" His words struck a chord, and tears welled up in Luna's eyes."Why does he treat me this way? Why? Isn't it supposed to be easier for women to pursue men? Then why, after a decade of pursuit, does he despise me even more?" Timothy could only sigh, a headache and a heartache brewing simultaneously."Enough, Luna. Stop crying before you ruin your makeup," he pleaded. Luna sobbed, wiping away her tears. Her makeup smeared, giving her the appearance of a weeping panda.
