Chapter 339 She's My Girlfriend

Nora took Samantha back to the auditorium to wait for her sons' math competition to end.

At this moment, the young lord of the Turner family sat fuming in a chair, waiting for his parents to come and back him up.

Half an hour later, the head of the Turner family arrived with a solemn expression. He was a man under the age of forty, and his body was of average build. His features were respectable, but his expression was somber, giving him an unapproachable demeanor.

He approached the young lord of the Turners and said, "Son."

"Dad!" the young lord Turner exclaimed as he saw his father arrive and ran over with tearful eyes.

The senior Turner with a grim face said, "What's with the tears? Haven't I told you? If anyone dares to bully you when you're out, just have the bodyguard beat them up! If anything happens, Dad will cover for you!"

His voice was filled with a ruthless edge. Nora, overhearing this, shook her head in disbelief.

Was this the elder Turner's parenting style? His attitude might explain his son’s arrogant and domineering behavior.

"Who bullied my son, where are they?" the senior Turner asked the bodyguard.

"They've already gone into the examination hall," the bodyguard quickly replied.

The senior Turner suddenly kicked him, with a fierce expression of his face. The bodyguard fell to the ground, grimacing in pain and not daring to make a sound.

"A bunch of useless idiots! I put you in charge of protecting my son, and you let him get bullied? What use are you to me?" the senior Turner scolded.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Turner. It was our fault!" The bodyguard got up and apologized.

Another bodyguard added, "Mr. Turner, it was two little whippersnappers who bullied the young lord. They've gone to participate in the competition, but their guardians are still here."

At that, the senior Turner followed the bodyguard's direction and looked straight at her. Nora met his gaze with a cool demeanor.

The senior Turner, with a stern expression, strode towards Nora. He accused, "So, it was your kids who bullied my son?" His viciously glared at Nora.

This frightened Samantha and she instinctively hid behind Nora. Although Frederic seemed wary, he stepped up protectively, positioning himself in front of Nora.

Nora patted his shoulder with a reassuring smile, signaling him to step back. Frederic gave a small nod and shifted to the side, he maintained a vigilant stance.

Nora spoke up, "My two sons didn't bully your son. It was your son who lost a bet to them and now he's trying to renege on it."

Hearing this, the eldest scion of the Turner family narrowed his eyes and asked, "A bet? What kind of bet?"

"Why don't you ask your son?" Nora replied.

The eldest scion of the Turner family turned to look at his son, and the young master Turner was visibly embarrassed, flushing with annoyance and staying silent.

A bodyguard leaned in and whispered a few words into the ear of the senior Turner, recounting the recent events.

The expression of the head of the Turner family darkened as he glared at his son in disbelief, "You're telling me you couldn’t outdo two kids who were barely four or five years old?"

The young master Turner became defensive, "Dad, that guy who was asking the questions must be the examiner for the competition; they must have bribed him. That's the only reason they beat me. You always say I'm a once-in-a-century genius, I couldn't do high school math when I was four or five either!"

At this, the senior Turner turned to Nora, his voice sharp with accusation, "How dare you bribe an examiner and falsify the results to bully my son? Do you have any idea who I am? It looks like you and your kids wish to be kicked out of Lindwood City!"

Nora found the whole circumstance laughable.

She remarked, "I know precisely who you are, the current head of the Turner family! Is this your typical approach to parenting? Allowing your child to act arrogantly and domineeringly, showing favoritism without cause, and evading accountability for his actions. Do you aim to raise him to embody the worst aspects of society?"

"Let me offer you some advice, Mr. Turner. Neglecting your child's education is a father's failure. If you continue to indulge him like this, he will be ruined by your own hands one day."

Her words provoked a surge of anger in the senior Turner, his face contorting with hostility.

"How dare you lecture me? Np one dares to disrespect me in Lindwood City! I may not hit women, but since your sons dared to bully mine, it would be wise for you to kneel and apologize on their behalf," he threatened with a chilling tone. "Otherwise, believe me, by tomorrow you and your sons will disappear from Lindwood City!"

Nora's lips pursed lightly as she was about to speak when a male voice spoke from not too far away, "Expecting my girlfriend to kneel? Mr. Turner, that joke isn't funny at all!"

It Aaron had arrived! Nora's eyes lit up, and the corners of her mouth curved upward involuntarily.

Aaron, dressed in a crisply ironed dark suit, strode forward. He carried an aura of authority with every step. His thin lips curled into a smile, but his eyes were cold as ice.

Nora watched him walk up to her and asked softly, "How did you get here?"

He replied, "Grandpa called me, told me to come early to pick up you and the kids." Aaron's chill dissipated slightly when he faced Nora.

Nora glanced at Jacob, who had just come through the door, and her expression softened.

Master had said he was going to the restroom, but it turned out he went to make a call.

"So, it was Mr. Gordon?" The head of the Turner family noticed Aaron and was slightly taken aback.

"Mr. Turner." Aaron greeted him with a nod, his demeanor indifferent.

The scion of the Turner family looked at Nora and asked, "She's your girlfriend?"

Aaron answered, "Yes! My girlfriend." He wrapped his arm around Nora's slim waist without hesitation.

The scion of the Turner family sized up Nora, his eyes narrowing as he pondered, ‘She must be the woman doctor who saved you.’

Aaron's lips quirked slightly, "It seems Jackson has already spoken to you."

The head of the Turner family added, "So you know about Gordon's family scion coming to ally with me?"

Aaron arched an eyebrow, neither confirming nor denying.

The head of the Turner family said in a more conciliatory tone, "Mr. Gordon, there's an old adage, 'iron sharpens iron.' Truthfully, I would be quite pleased to become your friend."

As the head of the Turner family, he naturally preferred to forge connections with powerful figures like Aaron over someone like Jackson, who came to ingratiate himself.

Aaron's lips tilted slightly, "Mr. Turner, I have a few principles when it comes to friendship. First, one must be honest and upright. Second, never engage in illegal activities. I believe that you, Mr. Turner, might not meet the standards I look for in a friend."

His words left no room for ambiguity, sparing no consideration for the head of the Turner family's dignity.

The color drained from the face of the head of the Turner family, anger flashed in his eyes. "Aaron, don't assume you can disrespect me just because you're the head of the Gordon family. Consider your actions before making an enemy out of me!"

Aaron remained calm and collected as he said, "Listen, Mr. Turner, I may not be most powerful, but I can hold my own."

The two men locked gazes, and Aaron's taller stature gave him a dominant presence in the exchange.

A flash of malice sparked in the head Turner's eyes. He stated, "Aaron, you will surely regret rejecting my offer of friendship. Let's go!"

He had intended to give Aaron some leeway—a chance to show some goodwill, a chance to drop his alliance with Jackson.

But it seemed Aaron was just as stubborn as a mule—repulsive and unyielding!

Since Aaron refused to recognize the lifeline that was being offered, he had no right to blame the head of the Turner family for being ruthless.

"Dad, I haven't had my chance in the competition yet. Can they wait for me to take the test together?" the young Turner scion said, still eager to challenge Alex and Billy.

"Save yourself the embarrassment and get over there!" Mr. Turner snapped.

"Dad, I'm not embarrassing myself. It was those two kids were colluding with the examiner against me!" the young Turner scion insisted.

"Shut your mouth!" the head of the Turner reprimanded.

With the Turner entourage gone, Aaron turned to Nora and asked, "Is everything all right?"

Nora shook her head, "I'm fine, but now we've completely offended the Turner heir."
