Chapter 778 Did they threaten you?
Becky shook the eyebrow knife, the blade shimmering with a cold light under the light.
Betsy instinctively shrank her head. "However, who do you want me to seduce?"
Nora said, "The head of the Bishop family: Edward Bishop."
The head of the Bishop family.
Betsy's eyes flickered, staring at Nora intently, trying to discern the veracity of her words.
'If I remembered correctly, Edward was Edric's father, Nora's friend Jenny's father-in-law.'
'Nora must be insane to ask me to seduce him.'
'What exactly is Nora thinking?' Betsy thought.
"Ms. Smith, do you really want me to seduce the head of the Bishop family?" Betsy asked.
"Yes." Nora looked at her. "Of course, don't get it wrong; I'm not asking you to actually sleep with Edward; I just want you to use your skills to make Fiona misunderstand that Edward has a confidante."
Becky added, "In other words, you can only use your charm, not your body. What you need to do is to use your charm to bewilder men; that's all. Is there any problem?"
Betsy understood that Nora and Becky were actually using her as bait to seduce Edward, but she couldn't actually let Edward sleep with her.
It was just to deliberately make Fiona anxious and angry.
Did Nora have a grudge against Fiona? Otherwise, she wouldn't ask her to do this.
"We're asking you. Are you in or out?"
Seeing her silence, Becky picked up the eyebrow knife and made a move towards her.
Betsy hurriedly said, "I can try, but if Fiona finds out that I'm seducing her husband, she won't let me off. I'm just a helpless woman; I don't want to die."
Betsy valued her life and didn't want to risk it for money.
"Don't worry, I will arrange for bodyguards to ensure your safety."
Nora said, "After the job is done, I will also pay you a hefty commission; you can take the money and leave Youston."
Nora naturally thought of this point, so she would arrange a bodyguard for Betsy.
To have the bodyguard follow Betsy was mainly to monitor her.
Afraid that she might double-cross and actually get Edward into bed.
Upon hearing her words, Betsy's eyes flickered, and she asked, "How much is the hefty commission?"
Nora fell silent for a moment and held up a finger.
Betsy frowned, "One hundred thousand dollars?"
That was too little!
She sang for those old men like Caden; if they were more generous, she could earn this amount in a few months!
"No, it's one million dollars," Nora said.
One million! Betsy's eyes lit up.
One million dollars was indeed a tempting price.
With that money, she could leave here first and then start anew!
"Okay, I'm in." Betsy agreed.
Nora smirked, "Just to clarify, I'm asking you to seduce Edward, not actually get him into bed. If I find out you're not just acting, but really doing it."
Nora paused, her expression turning cold.
"Before, when you seduced Baldwin Hughes, you were just blacklisted in the entertainment industry. Now, if you dare to actually do it, it won't be as simple as getting out of Youston, I will make you get out of this earth!"
Getting out of the earth means getting her killed.
Betsy's heart tightened, and she unconsciously swallowed.
Nora stared at her, adding, "Betsy, don't be naive. You should know the power of Aaron; killing someone is as easy as squashing an ant. And you should know how much he spoils me. As long as I say it, Aaron will definitely take care of everything for me."
Nora continued to bully others, relying on Aaron's power.
Betsy naturally believed that Aaron had that kind of power. After all, she mingled in the entertainment industry and understood how terrifying capitalists could be.
"Don't worry, I will definitely obey. I can get money without offering my body; what a good deal. I'd be stupid to give myself to an old man," Betsy said.
Upon hearing this, Nora nodded. "As long as you understand. When you go back, I will have someone periodically send you Edward's whereabouts. Figure out a way to get close to him."
"Okay," Betsy replied.
"Can you complete the task in a month?" Nora set a deadline.
"I will do my best," Betsy said.
Nora was satisfied, suddenly feeling a bit wicked. However, being wicked for once, Nora felt a different kind of excitement!
A knock on the door sounded, and Caden's voice came from outside.
"Betsy, are you there?"
Nora and Becky exchanged a glance; Becky whispered, "Caden is here."
Nora looked at Betsy. "When you meet Caden later, you know what to say and what not to say, right?"
Betsy nodded vigorously. "Don't worry, Ms. Smith, I'm not stupid; you're my benefactor now."
Betsy really knew how to seize the moment.
Nora smiled. "Go open the door."
"Okay."
Betsy hurried to open the door and greeted Caden politely, "Mr. Gordon."
Caden walked in, about to speak, when he saw Nora and Becky approaching him.
"Dad."
"Uncle Gordon."
Caden was slightly stunned, smiling awkwardly. "Nora, Becky, you're here too."
"Yes, Ms. Ward sang well on stage just now, and I thought my grandmother would enjoy listening to it, so I came to ask Ms. Ward for help and recorded a short audio clip to take back to my grandmother." Nora casually made up a reason to appease Caden.
"I see."
Caden glanced at Betsy, actually feeling suspicious, afraid that Nora would cause trouble for Betsy on behalf of Jeffery.
Betsy spoke up, "Yes, Ms. Smith is very generous. She didn't let me sing for nothing. She even gave me a tip. Ms. Smith, thank you for your reward."
Betsy was indeed experienced in the entertainment industry. Her acting skills were top-notch, and she smoothly continued the conversation.
Nora inexplicably felt like she was the leader. "You're welcome. Sorry for the interruption. We'll be leaving now."
Betsy nodded. "Take care."
Nora looked at Caden. "Dad, aren't you leaving?"
Caden smiled awkwardly. "I'll talk to Betsy for a moment before leaving."
"Okay." Nora wore a smile on her face, looking casual.
Her gaze swept over Betsy, giving her a look that said, 'You know what to do,' then Nora and Becky left together.
Betsy felt that although Nora was smiling, it was as if a knife was at her throat, making her feel on edge.
Nora wanted her to stay away from Caden.
Alright, she had to keep her distance from Caden.
"Betsy, Jeffery and Nora came to see you. Did they do anything to you?" Caden asked with concern.
"No, they are very polite people; they wouldn't trouble a mere singer like me," Betsy turned her gaze and spoke.
Caden thought to himself, 'Nora might be polite, but I couldn't say the same for Jeffery.'
Seeing Betsy's submissive appearance, he squinted and said, "Betsy, don't be afraid; tell me, did they threaten you?"
