Chapter 835 Calling Her from the Tree
Nora felt she should first meet Hugo's wife, Aisha, to see if she could persuade Hugo to give up custody of Millie.
So Nora said to Ellie, "Could you please tell your friend that we want to meet his wife? If she plans to go out any day, let us know immediately."
Ellie received the instruction and informed Amara, who quickly responded with a yes.
James asked Nora, "Are you planning to start with Hugo's wife?"
Nora said with a smile, "Since we're here, we have to try every possible way."
James nodded and said, "Dr. Smith, thank you for your hard work."
"No problem. Alright, I have a bit of a headache and would like to rest in my room," Nora said.
"Okay, call me if you need anything."
"Alright."
Nora stood up, bid farewell to James and Ellie, and then took the elevator to her room.
Looking at the room with a bit of exotic flair, she sat on the bedside and sighed deeply.
Nora suddenly missed Aaron very much. If he were by her side, he certainly wouldn't let her work so hard.
Nora instinctively took out her phone and glanced at it.
The phone was quiet; Aaron hadn't called.
It was clear he was still at the base.
At this moment, Aaron was also thinking about Nora.
So, during his free time, he went to a high place, wanting to call Nora and hear her voice.
However, there was no signal even in the high place.
Aaron waved his phone around for a long time, frowning.

Aaron smiled and saw a message from Nora.
His expression turned serious, and he quickly dialed Nora's number.
At this moment, Nora had just filled the bathtub with water, preparing for a hot bath.
Her phone was placed nearby.
When she saw Aaron's call, her eyes lit up, and she quickly answered.
"Aaron."
"Honey, where are you now?"
"I'm in Hchilia. Have you left the base?"
"No, I just miss you a bit. I'm calling you from a tree right now."
Nora imagined the scene and found it somewhat amusing.
"Be careful not to fall."

Aaron wasn't in the mood for jokes and asked, "Why did you go to Hchilia?"
Nora's face turned serious, and she said, "Millie was taken away."
She explained the situation in detail.
After listening, Aaron's expression also became more serious.
"I understand. I'll come to you right away."
Nora said, "Your work isn't finished yet. If you're busy, don't rush over. I can handle it myself."
"No matter how busy work is, it's not more important than you and Millie. Besides, I can't be at ease with you alone in Hchilia," Aaron said.
Nora felt warm inside. She wanted to say that with Frederick and James by her side, she would be fine.
But knowing that once Aaron made a decision, he wouldn't change it, so she didn't say anything more.
Aaron didn't say anything more, either. After hanging up, he went to find the base's leader, Henrik Lefebvre.
"Sorry, Mr. Lefebvre, I have a family emergency and must leave immediately."
Henrik was somewhat displeased. He said, "Mr. Gordon, I need to be clear: This collaboration is critical. If your group leaves unexpectedly, it will be seen as a lack of commitment to our shared goals."
Aaron naturally understood the importance of this collaboration.
He apologized again, "I'm truly sorry. Although leaving is not my intention, my family is more important to me. Please understand."
Henrik said with a dark face, "Mr. Gordon, let me remind you, you're not the only one who wants to collaborate with us. If you leave today, our cooperation ends here."
Aaron's lips pressed into a thin line, a determined look in his eyes.
"I'm very sorry."
"Mr. Gordon, Mr. Lefebvre, let's talk this through. The project is nearing completion; it wouldn't benefit anyone to end it abruptly."
A young woman nearby spoke up to mediate.
She was the third party in this collaboration: Gabriella Costa.
Gabriella had delicate features and a sexy figure.
She smiled and said, "Mr. Lefebvre, this concerns the military industry. The Gordon group is absolutely leading in the field of technology. Most importantly, he has already accessed the core of the project. It wouldn't be appropriate to stop the collaboration now."
Henrik frowned but remained silent.
Gabriella noticed his hesitation and continued, "Why not give Mr. Gordon a few days to handle his family matters and then return to discuss the collaboration?"

"Mr. Gordon, is it really a family matter and not something else?"
Aaron understood Henrik's concern.
Their collaboration involved classified military secrets, and Henrik was worried he might leak important information and sell it to other channels.
"Mr. Lefebvre, although I'm young, I am honest and straightforward. I would never deceive or joke about my family. In my heart, nothing is more important than family."
Aaron's deep eyes were clear and sincere, making people instinctively want to trust him.
Gabriella's eyes flickered when she heard Aaron mention his family.
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and said, "Mr. Lefebvre, I can vouch for Mr. Gordon. He is indeed an outstanding Chrisland people."
Henrik was convinced. "Alright, Gabriella, for your sake, we'll do as you suggested."
Gabriella smiled and said, "Thank you for your trust, Mr. Lefebvre."
Henrik waved his hand and looked at Aaron, saying, "Mr. Gordon, leave your assistant here. After you handle your family matters, come back to discuss the collaboration."
This was a way to hold Johnnie hostage, a clear sign that they still didn't fully trust Aaron.
Aaron didn't mind and said, "Thank you, Mr. Lefebvre. Johnnie, you stay."
"Yes," Johnnie responded.
Aaron gave Johnnie a few more instructions and then prepared to leave for Hchilia.
"Mr. Gordon, are you going to Hchilia?" Gabriella asked.
"Yes."
"Is it a family emergency?"
"Yes, something happened."
Gabriella paused and continued, "I happen to be familiar with that area. I can accompany you and visit an old classmate."
Aaron looked at her, surprised.
"No need. I'm already very grateful for your help in convincing Mr. Lefebvre. I don't want to trouble you further."
"It's nothing. I have my own reasons, too."
Gabriella smiled and said, "As the third party, we only get a high commission if you reach an agreement."
Aaron smiled slightly, saying, "Thank you anyway."
Gabriella smiled charmingly and said, "I'm a bit flattered to receive the gratitude of such a wise and handsome man like Mr. Gordon."
Aaron glanced at her, and Gabriella tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Alright, then it's settled, Mr. Gordon. I'll pack my clothes and meet you at the entrance."
