Chapter 246 Whom Had She Offended Now
Baldwin responded, "How could I possibly? I understand your desires, Mother." Hollis seemed appeased by his words, "Hmm, Baldwin, you're a good boy. Complete your tasks promptly and secure Nora away from Aaron soon. Once I regain my strength, I won't be able to oversee everything. If any innocent souls are harmed then, don't hold me accountable."
Upon hearing this, Baldwin's grip on his phone tightened. He wanted to voice his thoughts, but he swallowed them down instead.
"Understood," he replied.
After ending the call, he stared blankly into the void before him for a moment, heaved a sigh, rubbed his forehead, and then slid the door open to step outside.
At the entrance, Quinn leaned against the wall, her arms folded, her gaze flirtatious as she watched him.
Baldwin was momentarily taken aback, his eyes involuntarily sweeping over her crimson lips, causing him to swallow hard.
"Do you need to use the restroom? It's vacant now," he stammered.
What was happening to him?
The mere sight of her red lips sent his heart pounding like a high-speed engine, thumping with exhilaration.
Quinn blocked his path, inching closer to him.
"Baldwin, are you feeling warm?" she asked.
The sound of his name on her lips made his knees go weak.
"I'm not warm," Baldwin managed to reply, striving to maintain his composure.
Quinn reached up and touched his forehead, "Not warm? Then why are you perspiring so profusely?"
The cool touch of her hand, carrying a hint of her feminine fragrance, sent a shockwave through Baldwin.
He wanted to escape, but his legs refused to obey.
Quinn's smile was intoxicating. Her fair hand moved from his face to his chest, then slowly slid downwards.
"Baldwin, do you wish to revisit last night's dream?" Her voice was deliberately soft and enticing, carrying a hint of seduction.
Baldwin tensed up involuntarily, grabbed her hand, and replied curtly, "No."
Quinn giggled, closing the distance between them, her voice coaxing, "I always thought women say one thing but mean another, but it seems men are the same, aren’t they? Baldwin, your body is more honest than your mouth; I would rather converse with your body!"
With that, she wriggled free from his grip and tiptoed to plant a kiss on his lips.
Baldwin's body shuddered; he wanted to push her away, but his arms involuntarily wrapped around her slender waist.
The woman's fragrance was overpowering, testing his self-control.
Recalling the recent announcement from the studio and her accusations of betrayal, Baldwin steeled his resolve and decided to take the initiative.
Since he couldn't alter what had transpired, he might as well savor the moment!
The kiss deepened as Baldwin pressed his lips against hers, lifting her in a swift motion. He carried her to the bedroom, where he gently laid her on the bed.
The tall man towered over her, a hunger in his eyes as he eagerly sought to savor the sweetness of the moment.
Quinn felt the world spin as she closed her eyes, surrendering to his demands until his unrefined possession spurred a sharp pain that made her regret her acquiescence.
In frustration, she bit into his shoulder, her hands clawing at him as she cursed.
"You brute, don't you know how to treat a lady? Don't you realize it hurts? Can't you be a bit gentler? How dense can you be!" she exclaimed, her voice a mix of anger and pain.
Sweat beaded on Baldwin's forehead as he found the struggle both thrilling and challenging.
He allowed her to hit and scold him, whispering soft words of consolation before instinctively leading her to a euphoric climax...
Two hours later, Baldwin gazed at the woman, now unconscious from exhaustion, with tender eyes. So this was what a woman's touch felt like — ineffably delightful.
No wonder so many men in his circle were constantly scheming to be with women.
Observing her damp hair, he rose to fetch warm water from the bathroom, intending to clean her up.
As he watched her graceful form, his throat tightened, a heat stirring within him.
He quickly composed himself, turning her over to swiftly finish wiping her down.
A casual glance revealed a stark red stain beneath her — his movements halted, his handsome face a canvas of shifting emotions.
This was...
The realization hit him that during their fervent encounter earlier, when she had cried out, it may have been her first time.
The realization dawned on him that they hadn't actually done anything the previous night. He had assumed it was a foregone conclusion, given the level of his inebriation. Yet, she had deceived him. The revelation that struck him even harder was that, despite her notorious reputation, she remained untouched.
As the day waned, Nora found herself wrapping up a long day at work. Just as she was about to step out of the office, an email notification popped up on her screen. It was from Noe. The subject line read: Frank.
Over the years, Frank had been a Sir of manipulation, accepting substantial kickbacks, using his influence for sexual bribes, and lining his pockets. He had a reputation for harassing female staff. The list of his misdeeds was too extensive to detail.
As Nora skimmed through the evidence, a slight smirk tugged at the corners of her lips. The evidence was damning. A single report could send him away for the rest of his life. But she wasn't particularly interested in whether he went to jail or not. However, Allen would certainly be concerned about his son's future. Should she discuss his son's life ambitions with him?
Her phone buzzed, interrupting her thoughts. It was a call from Aaron. Nora answered, "Thomas."
"Did you get the email Noe sent?" Aaron inquired. "Got it, just finished reading," Nora replied.
"What are you planning to do?" Aaron asked.
Nora paused for a moment, "After I treat Mrs. Brown, I'll call Allen, and arrange to meet with him tomorrow."
"I'll go with you to meet him," Aaron said.
"I can go alone."
"No way, I don't feel comfortable with that," Aaron insisted.
Nora chuckled and didn't argue further. "Alright, I'm going to clock out now."
"Are you going now to treat Hollis?"
"Yes."
"You don't need me to remind you, do you?"
Nora was silent. Someone really is starting to sound like a broken record.
"Got it, I'll treat Mrs. Brown and then head straight back home, OK?" she said.
"Yep."
Aaron was satisfied, then added, "I've got an international conference today, so I'll be home late. Just wait for me at home."
Nora felt a wave of emotion. It kind of felt like they were an old married couple. And it was as if he had moved into her place!
Nora smiled softly, "Take care, don't overwork yourself."
"Received."
Aaron sent back a brief reply.
Nora smiled silently, ended the call, and her mood was extremely upbeat. Checking the time, she packed her things and left work for the Brown family residence.
Frederick was behind the wheel, driving towards the villa neighborhood as usual. These neighborhoods were usually built in the suburbs, so the roads were quite secluded.
Frederick was driving when he quickly noticed something off. "Nora, there have been two cars following us since we left," he said.
Hearing this, Nora was surprised. She glanced back and indeed noticed that two cars had been tailing them. Considering the seclusion of their location, the following cars began to speed up and corner their car.
Although Frederick was a skilled driver, he couldn't outmaneuver the two other cars and was soon forced to stop. A group of about fifteen people got out of the two vehicles. Each one masked, wielding a metal baton, it was clear they meant trouble.
Nora's heart skipped a beat as she curled her fingers. Were these people here to teach her a lesson? Who had she offended this time?
