Chapter 840 You Admired Him Quite a bit
"Don't worry about it." Mateo still wore an innocent expression.
Nora scrutinized him, thinking about his abilities, her eyes flickering slightly.
"Mateo, did you do something to Frederick?"
Upon hearing this, a hint of amusement flashed in Mateo's eyes.
"You're so smart, Dr. Smith. You guessed it right away."
So it was him!
Nora frowned and asked, "What did you do to Frederick?"
"I didn't do much; I just made him sleep for a bit so I could meet you alone." Mateo shrugged.
Nora glared at him and said, "Don't do this again!"
Luckily, Mateo had good intentions.
Otherwise, if he had any ill intentions, she would be in big trouble!
"Got it, I'll listen to you, Dr. Smith."
Mateo started to act obedient again.
Noticing that Aaron was upset,Nora sternly said, "Stop acting cute; we're not that close."
Mateo looked at her, a hint of sadness in his eyes.
"Why are you so harsh on me? You despise me, like eveyone else, tight??"
He seemed so innocent and pitiful. Thinking about his background, Nora couldn't help but feel sympathetic.
But then she felt Aaron's strong arm around her waist, and she hardened her heart, lowering her voice. "You're a prince; I just don't want to cling to power and wealth."
Mateo's expression changed slightly, a hint of self-mockery in his tone.
"I'm just an illegitimate child. I don't have any power and wealth."
Nora frowned slightly and said, "Alright, are we leaving or not? Aren't you afraid your brother will notice something's wrong?"
Getting back to business, Mateo collected himself, saying, "Let's go."
Aaron said nothing, holding Nora as they left the hotel with Mateo.
Mateo offered them a ride in his car.
Aaron refused, taking Nora to Frederick's car instead.
Mateo watched their intimate interaction without a word, got into his own car, and led the way.
The two cars drove on.
In Frederick's car, seeing Aaron's stern face, Nora squeezed his large hand and asked sweetly, "Why aren't you talking? Are you mad at me?"
Aaron wrapped her small hand in his, saying, "Would I dare be mad at you?"
Aaron's tone was a bit proud, and Nora smiled, leaning in to kiss the corner of his lips.
"Then give me a smile; don't keep that stern face."
Aaron's expression softened a bit, and he looked down into Nora's beautiful eyes.
"Tell me, what's the deal with this Mateo?"
Nora organized her thoughts and explained Mateo's background.
Aaron listened carefully, deep in thought.
"I'm not very familiar with the Hchilia royal family, but I've heard such rumors. The king of Hchilia has three sons. The youngest was very smart and clever, and the king had high hopes for him, wanting to groom him as the next ruler."
"Unfortunately, an accident left this son mentally impaired, and he missed out on the throne. So he is the youngest son in rumor?"
Nora blinked and said, "Maybe it was because the king had high hopes for him that he ended up like this."
Aaron's brown eyes were cold, saying, "He's smart, knowing how to play dumb to protect himself. If his father steps down in the future, he might just make a comeback as king."
Hearing this, Nora nodded in agreement.
"I think so too. Mateo is really smart. He can use a card to enter someone else's room at will and even make the highly vigilant Frederick fall asleep temporarily. Quite talented."
Hearing this, Aaron felt a bit displeased.
He turned Nora's head to face him.
"Honey, it seems you admire him quite a bit?"
Aaron's tone was filled with danger.
Nora shivered, then smiled.
"Not at all. Why would I? He is nothing compared to you."
Never regretted praising another man in front of Aaron, her jealousy husband.
Nora's tactfulness and flattery pleased Aaron greatly.
He contentedly pinched Nora's delicate chin and kissed her.
"Admiring him is fine. I'm a generous man. I wouln't get jealous just because you praised other men."
Nora was speechless.
She thought, 'Aaron, generous?'
'Please, Aaron, stop talking nonsense.'
'There wouldn't be anyone more petty than him!'
Nora rolled her eyes inwardly and didn't argue with him.
After Aaron kissed her for a while, she leaned into his arms, listening to his strong heartbeat, feeling inexplicably at ease.
Above her head came Aaron's low, husky voice.
"Is Millie at Hugo's place now?"
"Yes."
"I'll go see him tomorrow."
Hearing this, Nora sat up slightly.
"Let's not do that for now. As far as I'm concerned, even if you go see him, he won't give Millie back to us."
Aaron's thin lips pressed tightly together, saying nothing.
Nora comforted, "Don't worry, at least we know Millie is safe now. We'll figure out the rest slowly."
Aaron looked down, meeting her beautiful eyes, and hummed in agreement.
Nora smiled, playing with his fingers, then suddenly sniffed his clothes lightly.
Aaron raised an eyebrow and asked, "What's wrong?"
A hint of suspicion flashed in Nora's eyes.
"Strange, I didn't notice it earlier, but now I feel like there's a woman's perfume on you."
Aaron was stunned, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
"Honey, are you suspecting me?"
"No, wait a minute."
Nora sniffed around Aaron's body.
Her nose was very sensitive.
There was indeed a faint scent of women's perfume on Aaron.
Nora narrowed her eyes, stared at Aaron, and asked, "Is there a young woman at the base who is close to you?"
Aaron raised an eyebrow, thinking of something, and said, "I know, it must be Gabriella's perfume."
Nora asked, "Who's Gabriella?"
Aaron replied, "She's the third party facilitating cooperation between me and the military, essentially a middleman. She just came to Hchilia with me."
Nora moved slightly, looked up at him, and asked, "Why did she come to Hchilia with you?"
Aaron said, "She said she's familiar with this place and might be able to help me. She also wanted to visit a friend here, so she came along."
Nora looked at him, teasing, "Helping you? Mr. Gordon, it seems you are quite a charm. Gabriella must be a beauty, right?"
Aaron raised an eyebrow, leaned down, and kissed her.
"I don't know; I didn't see her face clearly."
Nora glanced at him sidelong and said, "You got her perfume on your clothes but didn't see her face clearly?"
Aaron chuckled and explained, "Honey, you're all I see. You outshine everyone else, they just fade into the background."
