Chapter 964 He Saved Her

The crowd got rowdy and charged at Aaron and his group, yelling threats.

"Mr. Gordon, we need to fall back now."

Johnnie quickly shielded Aaron and moved him back.

The bodyguards tried to hold off the crowd.

But the crowd was too fired up and broke through, rushing at Aaron and his group.

The bodyguards could only cover one side.

Some women even rolled on the ground, tangling up the bodyguards.

Meanwhile, seven or eight big guys grabbed wooden sticks and charged at Aaron and his group, swinging them.

They cursed as they attacked.

Aaron frowned, grabbed one guy's wrist, and flipped him to the ground.

But as soon as one went down, another took his place.

Nora, watching from the car, urgently told Frederick, "Frederick, go help them."

Frederick hesitated. "Mr. Gordon told me to stay with you."

"I'm safe in the car. Go help them," Nora insisted.

Frederick had no choice and got out.

But soon after, a man yanked open the car door and jumped in.

He had a wooden stick and glared at Nora.

"You must be Aaron's wife. Get out now!"

Nora was startled and instinctively protected her abdomen.

"Sir, let's talk this out calmly."

"I said, get out of the car!" the man shouted, reaching for Nora.

Mateo's face darkened. He grabbed a briefcase and smashed it against the man.

As the man was distracted, Mateo snatched the stick and hit him hard on the back of the neck.

The man groaned and collapsed.

Mateo turned to Nora, looking serious. "Nora, are you okay?"

Nora sighed in relief. "I'm fine."

Mateo glanced out the window, looking worried.

"These people came prepared; this was planned."

Nora thought the same but couldn't dwell on it. She just hoped there wouldn't be any bloodshed and that things would calm down.

Outside, it was chaos.

The women and elderly in the crowd were experts at causing trouble.

They clung to the bodyguards, grabbing legs, pulling hair, biting arms, using every trick.

The bodyguards, strong as they were, couldn't fight back against the elderly and women, so they just sternly ordered them to let go.

The crowd knew the bodyguards wouldn't use force, so they acted recklessly.

With the bodyguards tied up, the big guys focused on Aaron.

Even though Aaron was strong, he was outnumbered and struggled against the wooden sticks.

Luckily, Frederick arrived in time to help.

Johnnie, also protecting Aaron, relaxed a bit when he saw Frederick.

Then he heard Gabriella scream.

Instinctively, Johnnie looked for Gabriella and saw her surrounded by two big guys.

One had already grabbed her.

Gabriella struggled but couldn't break free.

She bit the guy's arm hard.

In pain, he flung her away and raised his stick to hit her.

Gabriella closed her eyes, bracing for the hit.

But the pain never came; she was pulled into a tight embrace.

She heard a groan and the thud of a stick hitting flesh.

Gabriella opened her eyes to see Johnnie's furrowed brow.

Her heart skipped a beat.

He had just saved her.

"Johnnie, you..."

"Didn't I tell you to stay in the car? Why are you causing trouble here?" Johnnie scolded her before she could finish.

Gabriella's concern turned into frustration.

She pushed him away. "I didn't ask you to save me."

Johnnie frowned but had no time to argue, turning to assess the situation.

With Frederick's help, the guys with sticks were all knocked down.

The women and elderly, seeing Frederick's fierce demeanor, quieted down.

The chaos finally subsided.

Tobias, looking disheveled, approached Aaron. "Mr. Gordon, what now?"

Aaron, with a stern face, adjusted his clothes. "Is there a factory doctor?"

"Yes."

"Take the injured inside and have the doctor treat them. Then send a representative to the conference room to talk to me," Aaron instructed calmly.

"Got it." Tobias wiped his sweat and hurried off.

Aaron glanced at Johnnie. "You okay?"

"Not a big deal, I'll help Tobias with the arrangements."

Johnnie, enduring the pain, focused on his duties.

Aaron, concerned about Nora, didn't ask further and headed to the car.

Gabriella watched Johnnie's back, bit her lip, and followed him into the factory.

She found a quiet corner and called Rafael.

The phone rang several times before he answered.

"Ms. Costa, what's up?" Rafael asked, sounding cheerful.

Gabriella gripped her phone. "Was today's disturbance at Aaron's factory your doing?"

Rafael laughed. "You could say that."

So it was him.

Gabriella said, "This is Chrisland, how does your influence reach this far?"

Rafael snorted, "There are plenty of people who don't want Aaron to succeed. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, just like you. With a little investigation, I can find allies."

Gabriella asked, "Then why do you need my cooperation? Don't you have enough help?"

Rafael laughed. "One can never have too many partners. So, is Aaron in a mess now?"

Gabriella thought of Johnnie protecting her and frowned.

"I'm just curious, who else is your partner?"

"You don't need to know that. Just do what I asked."

Gabriella was silent for a moment. "Rafael, there are many reporters here today. They must have captured the scene."

"Once the news is out, Aaron's reputation will be damaged. You can then complain to King Tomas that Aaron is unfit to be your partner, so I won't need to steal confidential files for you, right?"
