Chapter 966 A Bit Hard to Handle
Johnnie frowned. "What are you doing? Let go."
"Come with me."
Gabriella led him to an office and started taking off his clothes without a word.
Johnnie's frown deepened, thinking about her call with Rafael. He grabbed her hand, angry.
"Gabriella, what the hell are you doing?"
Gabriella looked serious, not her usual playful self.
"Do you think I'm just some promiscuous woman?"
Johnnie stayed silent, his face tense.
Gabriella pulled her hand free and kept unbuttoning his shirt.
"You've got a back injury. Let me check it."
"Not necessary," Johnnie said coldly.
"I said it's necessary!"
Gabriella met his eyes. "You got hurt because of me. If you don't treat it, it'll get worse, and I'll feel guilty."
Johnnie turned away. "You're overthinking. I have things to do."
Gabriella sighed. "Fine, I'm overthinking. I know you're a workaholic."
She quickly took off his shirt.
Pain shot through his back, and Johnnie wanted to say something but held back.
Gabriella saw his swollen, red back.
The wound was worse than she thought, and she felt a pang of guilt.
"Sorry, did I hurt you?"
Johnnie gritted his teeth. "Stop talking. If you're going to apply medicine, do it quickly."
"You're so grumpy. Still mad I didn't listen and get in the car with Nora to avoid danger?""
Johnnie stayed silent. That wasn't why he was angry.
Gabriella grabbed the disinfectant and started treating his wound.
Johnnie felt the burn and tensed up.
Gabriella noticed and softened her touch. "Johnnie, thank you."
Johnnie thought about Rafael's words, feeling a dull pain in his chest.
"No need to thank me. I'd protect anyone like that."
His tone was stiff, and Gabriella hesitated. She thought about telling him Rafael's scheme but decided against it.
Johnnie was just Samantha's assistant. She didn't need to turn against Rafael for him, right?
Gabriella focused on applying the medicine.
The room was quiet, the atmosphere tense.
"Is it done?"
Johnnie saw she was almost finished, grabbed his clothes, and left.
Gabriella stood there, holding a cotton swab, feeling frustrated.
For the first time, she felt she couldn't handle Johnnie.
Why did he put work above everything else?
Meanwhile, Aaron went to see Wyatt, and Nora, Mateo, and a bodyguard entered another room to treat the injured.
"Mrs. Gordon is here."
The factory doctor greeted Nora as soon as he saw her.
Nora smiled. "I'm here to help."
"Alright."
The room was filled with groans.
Nora squatted in front of one man, seeing his painful expression, and prepared to check his condition.
But the man waved her off and cursed, "Pretentious! I don't need your treatment. Get lost!"
Nora's hand was pushed away, and she almost fell.
Mateo quickly caught her.
The bodyguard angrily scolded, "Shut up! Mrs. Gordon is just being kind. Don't push your luck!"
The man spat at him, "You're just a henchman for the capitalists. Why are you yelling at me? If you have the guts, kill me!"
The bodyguard's fists clenched tightly, making a cracking sound.
Nora pulled him back, making him step aside.
The bodyguard restrained his cold demeanor and stepped back.
Nora looked at the man on the ground, her tone calm.
"Your arm is dislocated, and you have some internal injuries. If you don't get treated, it might leave lasting problems. Are you sure you don't want my help?"
The man glared at her but said nothing.
"How interesting. She's a miracle doctor that people can't hire even with a lot of money, and you want to drive her away. Are you out of your mind?"
Mateo sneered and looked over the injured crowd.
"You need her help. She can diagnose any problem just by checking your pulse."
"Or are you all out of your minds like him? If you don't need her treatment, we won't bother. Nora, let's go."
Mateo used reverse psychology, pulling Nora to leave.
Sure enough, someone couldn't hold back.
"I never said I didn't need treatment. I'm in so much pain right now. If you're a miracle doctor, do you have a way to make the pain go away immediately?"
"Yeah! Are you really a miracle doctor or just a fraud? If you can make our pain go away immediately, we'll believe you're not just putting on a show."
Several people echoed.
Nora smiled slightly and said nothing. She walked to one person and checked his pulse.
Then she took out her injection needle and administered a jab.
Everyone watched her movements, waiting for the person's reaction.
"How is it? Does it still hurt?"
The person stood up and moved his hands and feet, his eyes lighting up.
"She's amazing. I don't feel any pain now!"
Hearing this, the crowd's gaze towards Nora softened, becoming more respectful.
They were ordinary people and had a reverence for doctors.
Moreover, Nora was a miracle doctor, which made her even more admirable.
"Are you really a miracle doctor? Please help relieve my pain."
"And me, I'm in so much pain!"
The crowd clamored.
Nora smiled slightly. "Everyone, I'm a doctor, not a magician. My treatment can only temporarily relieve your pain. Once the medication's efficacy ceases, you'll still feel pain. So it's better to follow the proper treatment."
Saying this, she began to diagnose the person.
"Dr. Smith, I always have pain here, but no one can find out what's wrong. Can you help me figure out what's going on?"
The man pressed his lower abdomen and asked.
Nora checked his pulse carefully and said, "Your lifestyle habits are not good. You like to eat heavy-flavored foods, right?"
