Chapter 963 Avenge the Dead Child

Johnnie frowned, recognizing the faces.

"Mr. Gordon, some of these folks are family members of the employees from the warehouse fire you dealt with after coming back from Hchilia."

Aaron squinted. "Weren't those injured employees taken care of?"

The fire happened just over two weeks ago. One employee was seriously hurt, and several others had burns. The company compensated them, and that should've been the end of it.

But now, as he was showing Mateo around the factory, these family members showed up with banners, causing a scene. And conveniently, several media outlets friendly with the Gordon group were there, snapping photos.

"Tobias, Mr. Gordon's asking you a question," Johnnie said.

"Mr. Gordon, Mr. Perez, we did settle everything properly, and their families were satisfied," Tobias quickly replied.

"Then why are they causing trouble?" Aaron's eyes narrowed. "Did you embezzle their compensation?"

"Absolutely not!" Tobias denied. "the employee who was severely injured in the fire, had initially recovered after treatment and regained consciousness. However, unexpectedly, his condition worsened a week later, and he passed away. Another employee died from a bacterial infection after being discharged. Their families are understandably upset and feel it's unfair, demanding increased compensation."

'So there's more to this,' Aaron thought, squinting.

"Should we call the police?" Tobias suggested.

"No, that'll just make things worse," Aaron said. "We need to handle this privately."

After a moment, he turned to Nora. "Nora, you and Mateo should wait in the car until this is sorted out."

There were a lot of people causing a commotion here, and they were all very agitated.

Even with bodyguards, you never knew what someone might do when they were that upset.

It was best to keep Nora away from them, especially since she was pregnant.

Aaron also told Frederick to keep an eye on her.

"Aaron, be careful," Nora said, understanding his concern. She got into the car with Mateo.

Aaron, Johnnie, and Tobias headed towards the crowd. Johnnie noticed Gabriella following and frowned.

"You should go back to the car too," he said.

"It's okay, I want to see how Mr. Gordon handles this," Gabriella replied.

Johnnie glanced at her but said nothing, moving forward. Gabriella's smile faded as she thought, 'How could this be such a coincidence? Just as Mateo's delegation arrives, there's trouble at Aaron's subsidiary. Could this be Rafael's doing?'

Up ahead, Tobias and Johnnie parted the bodyguards, letting Aaron approach the troublemakers.

Aaron stayed calm. "I'm Aaron. If you have something to say, say it to me now."

Everyone turned to him.

A middle-aged man, Wyatt Reid, eyes blazing with anger, shouted, "So you're Aaron, you heartless capitalist! Give me back my son!"

Aaron glanced at him, his tone indifferent. "Speak properly. Did I personally kill him? If so, then a life for a life, you can take mine!"

Wyatt was taken aback. "Don't act so righteous! You're the CEO, Calvin was your employee, and he died at your company. As the CEO, don't you have to take responsibility?"

Aaron replied, "I never said I wouldn't take responsibility. Didn't Tobias and I handle it immediately?"

"Throwing some money at us is what you call handling it?" Wyatt looked both indignant and sorrowful. "We worked hard all our lives to give our son a good life. Now he's gone, and we're left with nothing but grief and bills!"

A middle-aged woman beside Wyatt started crying, "How could this have happened? I'm so devastated!"

The crowd behind them echoed loudly.

Aaron's expression darkened. "If you want to resolve this, then be quiet!"

His voice was low and commanding. The crowd's noise subsided.

Aaron continued, "Don't gather here. Send a representative to discuss your demands with me. I am also deeply saddened by the loss of your children, but this is not a reason to cause trouble here. If you think the compensation from our group was insufficient, there are other ways to negotiate with us."

Wyatt became agitated again. "Aaron, don't pretend to be kind. We're not here for money; we're here to expose the hypocrisy of your group to the world! Calvin's death was a cover-up for the fire. You wanted to cover up the truth about the fire and deliberately had the doctors kill him."

Aaron frowned, staring at him. The people behind Wyatt started shouting indignantly.

"Exactly! My nephew was getting better after being discharged, but suddenly he died from a bacterial infection! It must be you capitalists behind this!"

"Right, the warehouse fire was your factory's fault. You wanted to protect the group's reputation, so you tried to shift the blame onto the employees!"

"You want to say they were negligent, causing the fire, so it wouldn't affect your group's reputation, right?"

"Aaron, you heartless bastard, you'll get your comeuppance!"

"Aaron, I curse you! I curse your entire family to a miserable death!"

Aaron had been patiently listening until he heard the last sentence, and his expression darkened. "Enough! If you keep talking nonsense, don't blame me for what happens next!"

Wyatt glared at him. "What do you mean by that, Aaron? Are you threatening to kill us all? Go ahead, if you dare!"

Wyatt reached out to push Aaron. Johnnie quickly grabbed his hand and pushed him back forcefully. Wyatt stumbled back, knocking over two women behind him.

There was a moment of silence, then someone shouted loudly, "The capitalists are hitting people! They want to silence us! Down with the capitalists, avenge the dead children!"
