Chapter 117 Exclusively Mr. Gordon's

Nora's gaze shifted to the woman who had spoken, her curiosity piqued.

Unexpectedly, it was Sunny standing up for Jenny.

"Sunny, stop spouting nonsense!" Hannah fumed.

"I'm not making this up. I saw it clearly. While you pretended to talk to Miss Parker, your pal slipped an earring into her purse," Sunny stated, standing beside Aaron.

"Sunny, you're not gonna pin this on me. Are you thinking it'll get me booted off the cast and you can swoop in as the lead? Dream on!" Hannah fumed with indignation.

Sunny responded calmly, "Hannah, I'm not tarnishing your reputation or trying to kick you out. All I'm saying is I can't stand watching you bully others. I swear it!"

Hannah's anger mingled with panic at those words.

Her eyes flickered to Edric, clutching her stomach in feigned fragility, "Edric, I'm in so much pain. Could you please take me to the hospital?"

Edric glanced at her, his eyes tracing a trail of icy disdain.

From his wheelchair, Aaron chimed in, "Edric, who's this? Your new girl?"

Edric snorted, "Do you think I will date someone like her? Come on, you know I've got better taste than that. She's just some talent our company manages."

Upon hearing that, Hannah's face twisted with a mixture of resentment and humiliation, her eyes locking on Edric.

She had been so brazen because Edric usually spoiled her, showering her with prime opportunities. She had even thought she might secure the role of his official girlfriend.

"Edric, are you endorsing someone with such a questionable character? Brazen enough to slander others without fame—and what, she'll be an arsonist once famous?" Aaron's cold voice snipped through the tension.

Edric raised an eyebrow. "Good point. Hannah, you're fired. Come settle your contract termination at the office tomorrow."

Hannah's face drained of color. She clutched at Edric's hand desperately. "Edric, you can't do this to me! My career is on the rise—I can make a lot of money for the company!"

With a snort, Edric shook her off. "Money's the least of my concerns. Now, do yourself a favor and leave the party immediately!"

Hannah stumbled, nearly falling, but a colleague steadied her.

She stood in stunned silence, unable to grasp the reality of Edric's dismissal.

Aaron's gaze swiftly passed over the others, settling on a woman. "Nora, did she push you earlier?"

Nora was taken aback. She followed Aaron's lead and realized it was true.

"Yes."

"Edric, is she with your company as well?" Aaron queried.

Edric narrowed his eyes as he pondered before answering, "Yes, she's new. And just like that, she's gone. Don't bother coming in tomorrow; you're fired!"

Aaron was clearly standing up for Nora.

"Edric, give me another chance! I know I was wrong—I was just following Hannah's orders," the woman begged earnestly.

Impatience flickered over Edric's face. "Where's security? Get them all out of this party, now!"
Security personnel strode forward, swiftly escorting the shouting Hannah and her companions out of the cocktail party.

"Alright, the show's over. Let's get back to the party," Edric told the onlookers.

The crowd began to disperse.

Aaron moved closer to Nora, asking with concern, "Are you alright?"

Nora shook her head. "I'm fine."

Edric noticed Jenny's disheveled gown. "Jenny."

"I'm upset!" Jenny fumed. "Edric, it’s all because of you that Hannah slandered me! I don't know why you've been so attentive to me out of the blue, but please, could you just stay away from me from now on?"

She was furious!

Why did this playboy set his sights on her?

These celebrities had been making her life difficult because of him!

After venting, Jenny turned to Nora. "Nora, I have to deal with something. I'll take off first."

"Let me take you home," offered Nora.

"It’s okay, I can manage on my own."

With that, Jenny stormed off.

Nora wanted to follow, but Edric stopped her.

"Nora, stay and take care of Aaron. I'll take her home," he said.

Nora watched them leave one after the other. She pursed her lips.

What were Edric's intentions toward Jenny?

Sunny approached Aaron with a soft and tender greeting.

Aaron merely hummed in acknowledgment.

Nora snapped back to the moment and addressed Sunny, "Sunny, thanks for earlier."

Sunny replied with a smile, "Don't mention it. Nora, your dress is dirty, and it happens that I have a spare. Do you want to go and get a change?"

Nora looked down to see her hemline stained with something unpleasant.

After a brief hesitation and a glance at Aaron, who remained silent for a moment before saying, "I might stay here a bit longer. Go with her to change."

Nora nodded and followed Sunny to the upstairs lounge.

Entering the room, Sunny pulled out a black evening dress from a wardrobe and handed it to Nora.

"Nora, I've heard rumors about you. They say you’re Mr. Gordon's private doctor and also work as his personal assistant. Is that true?"

Nora accepted the dress and went into the restroom. "No, I'm just a doctor."

Those rumors had spread quickly!

"Nora, Mr. Gordon must care a lot about you. He was really angry on your behalf earlier," Sunny remarked, her tone soft but her eyes devoid of mirth.

In the restroom, Nora's movements halted momentarily as she began to change out of her gown.

"I wouldn't say he care that much. I'm just treating Mr. Gordon, and he would stand up for anyone who was being given a hard time today."

At the doorway, Sunny's eyes flickered with a brief intensity. "If any other woman received the kind of protection from Mr. Gordon that I did, I bet they'd fall for him."

Nora had slipped into her evening dress and was now opening the door to the restroom.

Gazing at Sunny's delicate beauty, Nora inquired, "Do you have feelings for Mr. Gordon?"

Sunny's face flushed with embarrassment. "Nora, to be honest, I've been with Mr. Gordon for a while now."

She belonged to Aaron!

So it was true, just like the rumors said—Aaron was the power behind the scenes!

Nora's fingers curled slightly, and her breathing briefly hitched.

"Look at me, rambling on about things I shouldn't," Sunny said with feigned annoyance. "Nora, Mr. Gordon prefers not to have such matters discussed openly. Can you just pretend you didn't hear this and not ask Mr. Gordon about our relationship?"

Nora steadied her emotions and offered a faint smile. "Don't worry, I'm not one for gossip."

Sunny sighed in relief, then confessed, "Truth be told, for a man of Mr. Gordon's standing to have a few women around is pretty normal. I consider it luck that he took notice of me. I don't have any grand expectations because I know that Suzy is the one he'll marry in the end."

That statement struck Nora as laughable.

Were all these women treating Aaron like royalty, idolizing him?
