Nora was shocked. "What happened?"
"Well, today, Adelbert and some friends had arranged to meet at the park for coffee, so he took the kids along. Not long after, Alex took Erin to the restroom, but within moments, both of them disappeared."

"Didn't Grandpa take bodyguards with him?"

Nora forced herself to stay calm. "I understand. Bring in more people and keep searching."

Nora steadied herself and quickly called Aaron.
The call went through, but no one answered.
Nora was extremely anxious.
"Nora, what's wrong? What happened?"
Emma came out of the room and saw Nora looking distraught, so she asked.
After treatment, Emma had been discharged from the hospital and only needed to rest at home.
Ebenezer and Howard had both gone to work.

She quickly answered the call.
"Who is this?"
"It's me."
The voice was very familiar. It was Matthew.
Nora's tense nerves relaxed a bit. "So, it's you?"
She had thought it was a call from the kidnappers.
"What's wrong? Were you expecting someone else's call?" Matthew's voice came through the line.
Nora bit her lip and apologized. "Mr. Jones, I need to tell you something. Erin is missing. Please help find the children."
She remembered Aaron saying that the Jones family was known for its intelligence network.
The Jones family's spies were spread all over the country.
Now that Erin was missing, if Matthew had helped, they should have been able to find the children quickly.
"No need to look. I know where the children are."
Nora's eyes lit up, and she quickly turned the steering wheel, parking the car by the roadside.
"Where are they?"
"They're on a plane back to the Jones family."

Nora gripped her phone tightly. "Except for marrying you, I can agree to anything else."
She thought the most likely thing Matthew Jones would ask was for her to take good care of Erin, which she could definitely fulfill.
"Really?"
"Yes, of course, as long as it doesn't break any laws or regulations," Nora added.
Matthew Jones chuckled. "Alright, I want Alex to live with us after he gets married."

Nora's eyes widened in disbelief.
"What did you say? Say it again?"
She thought she was mishearing.
"I said I want Alex to live with us after he gets married."
The same words came through the phone.
Nora was speechless.
"Wait, Mr. Jones, why? Why are you targeting my son?"
Matthew said, "Debts from the previous generation can be repaid by the next. Similarly, the favor owed by Mom can be repaid by Son, can't it?"
Nora was at a loss for words.
After a while, she said, "Wait, you want me to use Kenneth's marriage as a bargaining chip? I'm just his Mom; I don't have that right. Besides, he's still so young. If he were to get married, it should be after he grows up, right?"
Matthew said, "Dr. Hamilton, do you think my health will allow me to wait until the kids grow up?"
Nora was silent, just frowning.
Matthew Jones continued, "Didn't you just say that as long as it wasn't marrying me, you'd agree to anything else? Are you going back on your word?"
Nora opened her mouth but couldn't say a word.
"Or are you agreeing to marry me?"
Nora's mind was in chaos.
She didn't want to marry Matthew, but she couldn't joke about Kenneth's marriage either!

"Mr. Jones, I'm very confused right now. Can you give me some time?" Nora said.
"Alright, I'll give you a day. Either you agree to marry me or let Alex become my live-in son-in-law."

"By the way, you haven't found Sandy yet. If you agree to either of my two requirements, you can use the Jones family's intelligence network as you wish.You will be able to find Sandy soon with the network."
