Chapter 439 His Realization
Nora laughed, and asked, "Evella, are you planning on holding this grudge for the rest of your life?"
Evella hummed, took a bite of rice, and began talking about Archer.
"Nora, I told you that my eldest brother is getting engaged, right? Well, there's something else I haven't told you," Evella mentioned.
"What is it?" Nora asked. She knew but pretended not to know anything.
"You don't know, but my grandmother originally wanted my elder brother to marry Suzy just so that I could marry Howard. Luckily, my elder brother decided to get engaged to Harper. Otherwise, I would have felt guilty," Evella explained.
How could her grandmother sacrifice her elder brother's happiness for her own sake?
She didn't need that kind of fulfillment.
"So, everyone is happy now, right?" Nora said. She knew what Evella was going to say.
"Yeah, my elder brother is finally getting engaged, and I don't have to marry Howard. I'm really relieved," Evella replied. She sighed and thought of Howard, then said, "By the way, I just ran into Howard. Do you know what he said?"
Nora asked, "What did he say?"
Evella revealed, "He actually said he wants to marry me!"
Howard wanted to marry Evella.
Nora raised an eyebrow in curiosity, and asked, "Isn't that a good thing?"
"What's good about it? He said he wanted to marry me as if it was a favor, and I should be grateful to him. I don't want to marry him," Evella replied, pouted, looking unhappy.
Nora looked curious, and asked, "Why is it considered a favor? What did he say to you?"
"He..." Evella was about to speak when there was a disturbance at the entrance.
Several people walked in from outside.
Howard was leading the group.
At this moment, he draped his coat over his arm and listened to what the others were saying.
In a casual glance, he saw Evella sitting in the front row.
Their gazes met, and Evella immediately shrunk her head.
"Oh my god, why do I keep running into him? Our paths always seem to cross!" Evella exclaimed.
Seeing Howard approaching, she quickly said, "Nora, I'm full. I'm going to leave."
Nora was looking at the entrance and only then realized that Howard had arrived.
Seeing Evella getting up to leave, Nora found it amusing and asked, "Really? You've only eaten a few mouthfuls."
"I have a small stomach; I'm really full. Take your time, and we'll chat later," Evella said and hurriedly left.
Howard and his colleagues exchanged a few words, indicating that they didn't need to bother him, and then walked towards Nora.
Seeing Evella purposely taking a detour, he furrowed his brow.
"Nora, why did she leave?" Howard asked.
Nora looked at him and burst out laughing as she said, "Because she saw her nemesis."
Howard questioned, "Nemesis?"
Was she referring to him?
Howard was speechless.
Seeing her younger brother's frustration, Nora said, "Do you want to sit down and chat?"
Howard agreed and sat across from her.
Looking at his handsome features, Nora asked, "You want to marry Evella?"
At her words, Howard's gaze flickered, and he coughed, "Did she tell you that? What did she say?"
Nora replied truthfully, "She said you did it out of charity."
Howard was speechless once again.
"How could that be? She really has wild imaginations," Howard said.
Nora looked at him curiously, and asked, "Howard, do you like Evella?"
Howard thought about the interactions between him and Evella and coughed lightly. "It's not like I particularly like her."
"Well, you must have some fondness for her, right?" Nora hit the nail on the head.
Howard remained silent, clearly agreeing with her words.
Nora said, "Howard, you're not young anymore. If you have feelings for Evella, then go after her!"
Howard shook his head, replying, "I don't have the time."
He had countless experiments to do; how could he have time to pursue someone?
Nora felt a lump in her throat.
His response was truly frustrating; what else could she say?
Nora sighed and stopped talking, continuing to eat her meal.
When Howard saw her silence, he couldn't help but say, "Can't you offer some advice?"
Nora was speechless.
How could she not know that he was so fickle?
Nora chuckled, "All right, I'll give you some advice. If you really have feelings for Evella, then pursue her boldly. Don't be all shy and save face."
Howard touched his nose, and after a while, he spoke his mind, "She doesn't like me, so what's the point of pursuing her?"
She didn't like him, and pursuing her would be a waste of time and effort without any reward.
Moreover, he was the second young master of the Hamilton family, a rising star in the medical field. If the pursuit failed, wouldn't it be embarrassing?
Nora pondered for a moment and began to work on his mindset.
"Howard, how many couples in the world fall in love at first sight? Isn't it usually because one person makes an effort and eventually makes the other person like them? Just put in some effort and make Evella like you; isn't that enough?"
This statement seems reasonable.
Howard asked, "So how can I make her like me?"
"She likes literature and music," Nora advised him, "If you have time, talk to her about various topics and accompany her to watch a romantic meteor shower. That way, you might be able to bring your hearts closer together."
Was it that complicated?
He thought that sending flowers a few times and going on a few dates would be enough.
Frustrated, Howard blurted out, "I don't have time."
Nora remained silent.
Were all medical students so clueless about relationships?
Like her mentor Jack, who was also initially unenlightened?
But not all of them were like that.
For example, Zephyr was very romantic.
It depended on the individual's personality.
Nora thought to herself, judging Howard, and said, "If you don't have time, then you'll be single for the rest of your life."
Howard felt conflicted and, after a while, asked, "When will there be a meteor shower?"
Nora almost burst out laughing.
She wiped the corners of her mouth with a tissue and said, "I was just making an analogy. It's almost Christmas, and there will certainly be celebrations outside. You can find an opportunity to take Evella out to something. In short, you have to be willing to put yourself out there and find ways to connect with her got it?"
She thought that she should have Howard and Aaron spend more time together and see how Aaron charms women.
She couldn't help but feel a little proud.
Aaron indeed knew how to capture hearts, gradually making her open up to him and let her guard down.
Nora's mind was filled with thoughts as she saw Howard lost in thought. She smiled and said, "All right, I'm full. Take your time eating. I'm going to treat Ryan now, so I'll leave first."
She had given him some advice, and now it was up to him to figure it out.
