Chapter 7 Coming to Divorce Her

Therefore, it turned out they had come to discuss a divorce with her.

Nora realized the visitor's ill intentions and instinctively inquired of Aaron, who was in the wheelchair.

"I have some matters to attend to. Should I help you to the bed, or would you prefer to stay in the wheelchair?"

"Stay in the wheelchair," Aaron responded. He had just managed to get out of bed and didn't want to lie down again so soon.

"Here is the button. You can press it to go wherever you want."

The wheelchair was automatic, and Nora explained to him how to use it.

Seeing that Nora wasn't in a hurry to leave, Aaron's brown eyes flickered slightly.

"Who is it outside?"

"You don't need to know," Nora replied dismissively and prepared to leave.

"Mommy, who is it?" Alex, Billy, and Samantha came running down from upstairs, having heard the commotion outside.

"It's someone selling products. I'll go get rid of them. You all stay inside," Nora said softly before stepping out the door.

Billy leaned against the door, peeking outside.

"Alex, that car looks really fancy. It must cost a lot of money. Do people selling products have that much money? Could they be scammers?"

Alex also took a glance outside, frowning.

"I'll get the binoculars," he said, worried that bad people might deceive Nora.

Aaron wheeled himself to the door, his gaze falling on Lucas, his brown eyes narrowing slightly.

This person looked familiar; he felt like he had seen him somewhere before.

Upon closer inspection, Aaron suddenly remembered.

This was Lucas, who had recently been acknowledged by the Gordon family!

Although Lucas was only a collateral branch of the Gordon family, he should still call Aaron his cousin.

On the night of Lucas's wedding, Aaron had just returned to the country and had even gone to the hotel to have a belated drink.

He had heard that Lucas's wife had run away less than two months after their wedding, and Lucas had gotten involved with his wife's half-sister, Becky.

Alex came over with the binoculars. When he saw the figures through the lens, his little face darkened.

"Those two aren't here to sell anything. It's the bad man and the bad woman."

"Alex, is it the bad man who abandoned Mommy? And the mean Aunt Becky, is she with him?"

Aaron, listening to the children's conversation, raised an eyebrow slightly.

The woman who had taken him in must be Lucas's nominal wife.

"Alex, what do we do now?" Billy asked, his expression serious.

Alex's little face was cold. "Let's wait and see. If they dare to bully Mommy again, we'll make them pay!"

Outside, Nora walked to the fence, not intending to open the gate for the two.

"So, have you decided to kneel and apologize to me?" Nora said.

"Who wants to apologize to you?" Becky's face changed.

"Nora, isn't there a man in your house? Why won't you agree to the divorce? I know, it's because he's disabled and can't satisfy you, right?"

Hearing this, Nora let out a light laugh.

"I thought you were here to apologize. I overestimated you. As expected, you're still the same as before," Nora said, turning to leave.

Seeing Nora turn away, Becky shouted angrily, "Stop right there, Nora! What will it take for you to agree to the divorce? Do you want money? I'll give it to you!"

Becky wanted to give her money.

Nora stopped and turned to look at Becky.

"How much are you planning to give me?"

'Indeed, Nora was here for the money!'

A look of contempt flashed in Becky's eyes.

"Nora, if it were someone else, I'd give them fifty thousand dollars to get rid of them. But since you're my sister, I'll give you two hundred thousand dollars. Not a penny more."

Two hundred thousand dollars, how stingy.

A look of mockery flashed in Nora's eyes. "Becky, so the title you stole is only worth two hundred thousand dollars? How cheap."

"You!" Becky was furious. "Nora, you already have a lover. Why won't you let us be together? Two hundred thousand dollars isn't enough for you? How greedy can you be?"

Nora took out her phone and turned on the recording mode.

"Becky, you can shout louder. I'll let everyone see how arrogant mistresses are these days," Nora taunted, pointing her phone at Becky.

Becky, both angry and scared, quickly hid in Lucas's arms.

"Lucas, don't just stand there. Say something!"

Lucas patted Becky's shoulder and looked at Nora. He only wanted to know who the man inside the house was.

"Nora, who is that man?"

Although he hadn't seen the man's face clearly, from a distance, he felt the man looked familiar, as if he had seen him somewhere before.

"Who is he? What is your relationship with him?" Seeing Nora's silence, Lucas pressed on, his voice filled with urgency.
