Chapter 652 Oppressing Him
Seraphina looked at Noe steadily for two seconds, said nothing, and then turned and left.
Watching her retreating figure, Noe sighed.
When would his lover appear?
Noe slowly turned around, his gaze falling on Aaron and Nora, who were embracing each other as they slept.
Aaron and Nora were inseparable through life and death, never leaving each other's side.
Noe witnessed it all. He was a bit envious!
Seraphina entered the Lumirians and arrived at the small building where she lived. She gently opened the door and then turned on a wall lamp. Inadvertently, she caught sight of Elara sitting on the sofa waiting for her.
Seraphina's heart skipped a beat, and she nervously greeted Elara, "Elara, Are you still awake?"
Elara looked at her coldly and asked, "Where were you?"
"I went to settle the guests who just arrived." Seraphina lowered her eyes, hiding her guilt.
Elara stared at Seraphina sternly, a hint of anger flashing in her eyes. "Seraphina, you've really become bold! Not only did you openly defy my orders, but now you're lying to me!"
Elara was furious, and Seraphina couldn't help but shrink back, knowing that Elara must have discovered she had helped Aaron and Nora leave the forest.
Seraphina bit her lip and gathered her courage, saying, "Elara, I'm sorry, I acted on my own. But their background must be significant. If something were to happen to them in Lumirians, it could involve the entire tribe. What I did was also for the Lumirians."
Upon hearing Seraphina's words, Elara became even angrier and said, "Oh, so you're doing this for the whole Lumirians, Seraphina. Are you questioning my capability? Should I make you the future leader of the tribe?"
Seraphina was surprised and quickly shook her head, saying, "Elara, I didn't mean that! I just hope Lumirians can continue to be peaceful and harmonious under your leadership."
Elara stared at her for a while and then coldly said, "Seraphina, you know my temper. I demand absolute loyalty from those around me. If I keep you by my side after you repeatedly disobey my orders, you'll undermine my authority. Go out and leave Lumirians tomorrow!"
At that moment, Seraphina had a premonition. She had a feeling that Elara would drive her away.
But it was impossible for her not to feel sad.
"Elara, are you really going to make me leave?" Seraphina asked.
Elara looked at Seraphina's tears, remained silent, and turned away with a cold face. She said, "You've always wanted to go out and explore, so your wish is granted."
Although Elara's tone was stern, the severity in her eyes softened slightly.
"Can I come back in the future?" Seraphina sniffed and asked.
"It's up to you whether you want to come back," Elara replied.
Then she got up and went upstairs with a cold expression.
Actually, Seraphina knew that Elara had always been soft-hearted.
Seraphina watched Elara's retreating figure, memories flooding her mind. Since childhood, they had been inseparable. Wherever Elara went, Seraphina followed like a little tail. Elara taught her, played with her, and was both strict and loving towards her. They had never been apart.
Tomorrow, she and Elara would be separated. She couldn't bear the thought.
"Elarater, you will always be my beloved sister," Seraphina said.
Elara, who was about to go upstairs, paused for a moment without turning around. After a moment of silence, she asked, "Did they safely leave the forest?"
Seraphina snapped back to reality and replied, "Yes."
Elara asked, "Did you help them?"
"Yes," Seraphina replied.
Thinking that Elara was about to scold her again, Seraphina was surprised when Elara remained silent and went upstairs to rest.
Seraphina stood quietly for a while before finally going to her room to pack her things. She was really leaving the place where she had grown up! She felt both reluctant and excited.
She was curious about the wonders that awaited her in the outside world.
The night was quiet, and the east gradually lit up with a faint light. A red sun emerged from behind the clouds.
The sky was getting brighter. Outside the forest, Noe had stayed up all night, fighting off sleep. Dark circles had formed under his eyes.
Meanwhile, Nora and Aaron, who were embracing each other, slept soundly.
Nora woke up first and immediately checked Aaron's pulse.
Aaron's pulse was a bit weak, but thankfully, his wound hadn't worsened.
Nora's actions woke Aaron up.
"Morning, Nora." Aaron's voice was hoarse, and he instinctively wanted to give Nora a morning kiss.
Nora quickly dodged and glanced at Noe, who was getting up.
"Don't tease, Noe is here," Nora said.
Aaron looked at Noe and smirked. "It's okay, he's seen it all before."
Just as Noe finished dusting himself off, he heard Aaron's words and complained, "Especially last night, I've seen it enough."
Aaron looked at him and said, "If you don't want to see that, let's see what you've got."
At this point, Noe began to protest, "Mr. Gordon, Dr. Smith, can you stop teasing me? I'm not planning to get married yet; I just want to make money with you!"
Supported by Nora, Aaron stood up and said, "Don't just focus on work. How long do you plan to stay single? People might think I am pushing you so hard that you don't have time for your own life."
At that, Noe couldn't help muttering, "But I really don't have time."
Aaron narrowed his eyes and asked, "What did you say?"
"Nothing." Noe quickly changed his tune. He didn't dare to act up in front of Aaron.
Nora heard it and joked. "Aaron, Noe said you really pushed him too hard."
Noe was taken aback. "No! Dr. Smith, how could you..."
Aaron shot him a look that seemed to suggest that if Noe said anything negative about Nora, he would throw him in the river.
Swallowing hard, Noe quickly amended his words. "Dr. Smith, can you not be so straightforward?"
Nora looked innocent and glanced at Aaron.
Aaron squinted and said, "Did I make you overwork?"
"No! Mr. Gordon, you are giving me the opportunity to earn money. I was just complaining," Noe quickly explained.
Aaron smiled coldly. "I'll give you a year to sort out your major life matters. Otherwise, you don't have to assist Alex anymore. I don't want him to become a rigid and uninteresting person who only knows how to work like you."
Noe was dumbfounded. Why was he being given such an order?
How had he become so dull and uninteresting? He had been by Aaron's side every day, assisting him, and Aaron hadn't turned into a boring person. Instead, he had found the incredibly talented Nora!
Aaron and Nora flaunted their affection every day, driving Noe crazy.
Noe complained, "Mr. Gordon, you've become like my mother!"
Now, Aaron urged him to get married.
"Look at you, you've gone silly. Your mother is a woman; I'm a man. If you can't even tell the difference between men and women, put your work aside," Aaron teased.
