Chapter 956 The Two Were So Romantic

Mateo touched his chin. "Showing off your love again, huh? Am I the joke here?"

Nora chuckled, glanced at Aaron, and didn't say a word.

Aaron smirked, grabbed Nora's hand, and played with it.

"Mateo, if you want to inherit the throne, you need to get smarter. Go train more."

Mateo squinted. "What are you two up to?"

Footsteps echoed from the staircase nearby.

Johnnie appeared, with Gabriella following.

Aaron casually let go of Nora's hand and poured himself some coffee, returning to his usual aloof self.

Nora composed herself and looked out the window.

Mateo eyed them, something flickering in his gaze.

'Are Aaron and Nora putting on a show for someone?' he wondered.

Seeing Gabriella approach, Mateo's eyes flashed.

'Are they doing this for Gabriella? But why?'

"It's so warm inside," Gabriella said, rubbing her hands. "Mateo, mind if I sit here?"

"Go ahead," Mateo smiled.

"Thanks." Gabriella sat beside him.

Nora glanced at her and smiled. "Gabriella, you don't have to stay with us. The estate's beautiful, perfect for couples. Go have fun with Johnnie."

Nora looked at Johnnie. "Johnnie, don't just stand there. Take your girlfriend out."

Johnnie glanced at Gabriella but stayed silent.

Mateo raised an eyebrow, surprised. "So Ms. Costa has a boyfriend now?"

Gabriella's smile faltered but then returned. "Yes, we just started dating."

Nora chuckled, teasing, "I saw you two kiss just now, so romantic! You make such an enviable couple."

Aaron's face darkened. "What are you envious of? Saying we're boring together?"

Nora gave him a sidelong glance. "We are boring. When we first met, you showed me your worst side. You relied on me for everything, where's the romance in that?"

Aaron looked embarrassed, his anger flaring. "Nora, I've tolerated you long enough. Can't you give me some respect in front of everyone?"

Nora snorted, "You asked, I answered. Seems like you can't handle the truth."

"What's with your attitude, trying to suppress me?"

"And what's with yours, trying to make me submissive?"

Seeing them about to argue, Gabriella quickly intervened. "Alright, don't argue. Here, have some fruit to calm down."

"I'm not eating!" Aaron and Nora said simultaneously, both looking annoyed.

Mateo watched, sipping his coffee, amused.

So Aaron and Nora were putting on a show for Gabriella. He was really curious why.

"Gabriella, let's go," Johnnie said.

Gabriella pouted. "Go where? Can't you see, it's all because of us."

Nora sighed. "It's fine, you guys go have fun. I'm heading to my room later."

Aaron glared at Johnnie. "You heard her, go have fun."

Johnnie's face stayed blank as he repeated to Gabriella, "Let's go."

Gabriella wanted to stay and watch the drama, but with both Aaron and Nora telling her to leave, she had no choice.

She got up and said, "You two take care, don't argue anymore."

After they left, Mateo chuckled. "So you two were acting! Why?"

Aaron glanced at him, sipping his coffee. "Acting? Honey, were we acting?"

"Nope. We were seriously arguing," Nora replied earnestly.

Mateo laughed. "What a perfect couple act. Think I won't report you?"

Aaron smirked. "Would you?"

Mateo said, "I definitely wouldn't. Come on, why were you acting?"

Aaron smiled. "Gabriella has a secret. We just wanted to test her intentions."

Mateo snorted, "What secret? It's obvious! She's smitten with you and wants to steal you away from Nora."

Aaron raised an eyebrow. "You noticed?"

"Do you think I'm as dumb as you? I noticed a long time ago!"

Mateo mocked, "When I was at Hugo's estate, I already saw Gabriella wasn't simple."

Aaron wasn't mad at being called dumb. Instead, he asked, "Then why didn't you warn us?"

Mateo laughed. "Why should I? You must have many admirers like her. Can I warn you about all of them?"

"I do have many admirers, thanks for the compliment," Aaron teased.

"Shameless," Mateo snorted.

Aaron smiled, holding Nora's hand, showing their unbreakable bond.

Mateo's eyes shifted. "Why don't you count me in? I could take Nora away while you two argue, making it more convincing."

Aaron said, "Sorry, we don't have the budget to bring you on board, Prince."

Mateo added, "It's fine, I'll perform for free."

Aaron said, "No need, save your energy and use it to boost your brainpower."

Mateo argued, "You're the one who needs a brain boost."

Outside, Gabriella and Johnnie walked aimlessly.

Gabriella looked at Johnnie's expressionless face and reached for his hand. "Why aren't you talking, still mad?"

"No," Johnnie said flatly.

Gabriella looked at him for two seconds, then pointed ahead. "Look over there."

Johnnie followed her finger and saw a young couple walking hand in hand by the lake. The girl walked briskly, tilting her head to listen to the boy. The boy said something that made the girl cover her mouth and giggle. The boy looked at her and laughed too.

"See that?" Gabriella asked.

"What about them?" Johnnie said.

"That's what dating looks like."

Gabriella scrutinized him. "Look at us now. We're not like a couple at all."

Johnnie lowered his eyes, looking at Gabriella's beautiful face, then looked away. "I'm just a boring person."

Gabriella pouted. "Indeed, boring and stiff."

Johnnie took a deep breath and asked, "So, do you still want to continue dating this boring and stiff person?"
