Chapter 1027 We Only Acknowledged Susan as Our Daughter-in-Law

Nora got it and didn't ask much.

Soon, Noe showed up. "Mr. Gordon."

"Mr. Gordon."

Aaron nodded. "I need you to stay here tonight."

"Got it."

"Alright, we're heading out."

"Okay."

They left the hospital and went back to Hugo's place.

They thought they could keep Johnnie's situation from Randy and Vilma.

But the next day, Randy somehow got Gabriella's number and called her.

Gabriella didn't hide anything and told him the truth.

Randy flew to Hchilia that day, and Susan came with him.

Nora and Aaron were at the hospital, surprised to see Randy. "Randy, what are you doing here?"

Randy, looking worn out, saw Johnnie lying weakly and felt heartbroken. "Mr. Gordon, I sensed something was off when I called you, so I got Gabriella's number from your receptionist. That's how I found out about Johnnie's accident. You shouldn't have kept this from me."

Aaron didn't expect Randy to catch on. "Sorry, Randy. I didn't want you to worry."

Randy's eyes reddened. "I'd find out eventually. Johnnie is blind and deaf now. How could you not tell us, his parents?"

Aaron was speechless.

Johnnie frowned. "Dad, knowing would only make you worry. Mr. Gordon was right not to tell you."

Randy felt both heartache and sadness.

Randy glanced at Gabriella, remembering her guilt over the phone, and got angry. "It's all Gabriella's fault, isn't it? Vilma and I knew you two weren't a good match, and now look what happened!"

"Dad."

"Johnnie, even if you're unhappy, I have to say it." Randy wasn't holding back. "You two won't be happy together; it will only cause problems. You should break up with her."

Johnnie frowned, his unfocused eyes looking at Randy. "Dad, is this really the time to talk about this?"

"Yes, it's late. I should have opposed your relationship from the start!" Randy said. "Being with her caused this accident. She brings bad luck. Once she's out of your life, you'll get better."

"Nonsense," Johnnie said. "The car accident was deliberate and has nothing to do with Gabriella."

Randy was stunned. "Deliberate? Someone tried to harm you?"

Johnnie stayed silent.

"Say something!"

"Say something!" Randy, anxious and angry, clutched his chest, his face pale.

Susan quickly tried to mediate. "Randy, calm down. Let's talk calmly. Johnnie is injured, and if you get sick, he can't take care of you."

Randy glanced at her and then said to Johnnie, "Johnnie, look how gentle and considerate Susan is. If you were with her, none of this would have happened."

Susan's eyes flickered. "Randy, stop it. Let's talk about this after Johnnie gets better."

Her feelings were mixed. She liked Johnnie, but the healthy, outstanding Johnnie. Now he was blind and deaf. If he couldn't recover, he'd be a cripple for life. How could she marry a cripple? She wanted someone to rely on, not a burden!

"I'm sorry, it's my fault Johnnie got hurt," Gabriella said, her eyes red with guilt.

Randy glared at her. "It is your fault. If you have any decency, leave Johnnie immediately."

"Dad!" Johnnie was fed up.

Just as he was about to speak, Thea interrupted, "How can you talk to Gabriella like that?"

Thea had just entered the ward and was displeased to see Randy yelling at Gabriella.

Randy turned around and looked her up and down. "Are you Gabriella's mother?"

"Yes, I am. And you must be Johnnie's father?"

"That's right." Randy's expression softened a bit.

Thea said, "My husband and I were planning to meet you to discuss the kids' marriage, but I didn't expect to meet under these circumstances."

"Discuss marriage? Vilma and I never agreed to that," Randy said bluntly.

A trace of displeasure flashed in Thea's eyes. "Are you blaming Gabriella? No one wanted this accident to happen. If you must blame someone, I could say Johnnie brings bad luck to Gabriella. If she hadn't been with him, she wouldn't have had the car accident."

Randy nodded and pulled Susan over. "Fine, think what you want. But they are not a good match. We want Susan as our daughter-in-law, so let's not see each other anymore."

Thea was momentarily speechless with anger. She pulled Gabriella up from the bedside. "Gabriella, did you hear that? They don't like you. Stop clinging to them. Let's go."

Gabriella shook off her hand and shook her head. "Mom, I won't leave Johnnie unless he gets better."

Thea said, "Can't you see his father hates you? No matter what you do, it won't help."

"Let him hate me. I just want to stay by Johnnie's side," Gabriella said firmly.

"Gabriella, Johnnie doesn't need you. He has someone to take care of him." Randy pulled Susan to the bedside. "Susan, from today on, you are Johnnie's wife. You take care of Johnnie."

Susan's eyes flickered, and she gently persuaded, "Randy, don't be like this. Let's talk it out." She didn't want to be Johnnie's wife right now!

"Gabriella, let's go!" Thea was furious. She grabbed Gabriella, trying to take her away.

"Mom, I'm not leaving."

Gabriella, with red eyes, looked at Randy. "Randy, please let me stay and take care of Johnnie. I promise, once he recovers, I'll leave!"

Randy snorted, "We don't need your fake kindness! Don't you get it? It's because you two are incompatible that Johnnie is suffering."

Gabriella shook her head. "No, that's not true."

"Dad, that's enough!" Johnnie, overwhelmed with anger, started coughing violently and spat out a mouthful of blood.
