Chapter 1061 About to Kiss Her

Samantha kept her cool, talking all smart and stuff.

Someone in the crowd started clapping, and soon, everyone joined in, giving Samantha props for her words.

Robert felt a mix of shame and anger, but he couldn't do squat about it. He just left with a sour face, feeling totally humiliated.

Some folks around were Wesley's fans, coming over for his autograph.

Then there were the savvy business types, trying to chat up Samantha, hoping to get in good with the Gordon Family, big shots in the business world.

For a bit, the two were swarmed by people.

Seeing this, Samantha shot Uriel a look.

Uriel got the hint and quickly had the waitstaff greet the guests while leading Samantha and Wesley to a private room. "Miss Gordon, Mr. Woodhouse always keeps a private room ready for you. How about dining there instead?"

"Sure thing." Samantha smiled with her eyes.

Wesley looked at her, his eyes soft. "So, you know the owner here?"

"Yeah." Samantha pouted her pink lips. "Didn't wanna pull rank, but Mr. Gardne was being a jerk, so I had to."

Wesley chuckled, looking at Samantha's glowing face, his eyes full of affection. "Samantha, thanks."

'Thanks for having my back.' He felt a rush of emotion.

"Don't sweat it." Samantha waved her hand. "You're my hero, no way I’d let you get pushed around."

Honestly, she’d been fed up with Robert for a while. He was just too full of himself. Today, they bumped into each other, so she took the chance to put him in his place.

Uriel led them into the private room Ryan had set aside for Samantha.

This room was usually off-limits, only for when Samantha came to eat or when Ryan had VIP guests.

Samantha smiled as she and Wesley sat down, and the waitstaff started bringing out the food.

Wesley poured Samantha a glass of water and saw her looking at her phone, her delicate features so captivating he couldn't hold back anymore. "Samantha, I don't wanna be your hero anymore."

Wesley's sudden words made Samantha pause. "Why?"

Wesley swallowed, looking deep into her eyes. "That song 'First Encounter' was written for the girl I like. Samantha, don't you get it?"

Wesley's brown eyes were deep, filled with a unique tenderness. Samantha's heart raced.

Samantha knew the lyrics of ''First Encounter'' mirrored their story, but she couldn't believe it.

Samantha swallowed. "Wesley, are you saying..."

"Samantha, I like you." Wesley gathered his courage, holding Samantha's hand and spilling his feelings.

Samantha gasped, feeling both thrilled and surreal. She had dreamed about confessing to Wesley. But she never thought Wesley would beat her to it.

"Wesley, I..." Samantha was happy and excited, lost for words.

Wesley tightened his grip on her hand, a hint of nervousness in his eyes. "Samantha, don't you like me? Sorry if I was too forward, but I really can't help how I feel about you, I..."

"No, I like you too," Samantha quickly said. Her big, beautiful eyes were shining.

Wesley's eyes lit up. "Really?"

"Yeah." Samantha nodded eagerly. "Wesley, I like you."

Samantha finally let her feelings out, feeling a wave of relief wash over her.

Wesley smiled, all tender-like. His eyes locked onto her luscious lips, darkening with intent. He gently pinched her chin and leaned in closer.

Samantha's breath hitched, her eyes going wide. 'Is Wesley gonna kiss me? I'm so nervous!'

Her hands clenched up, and she held her breath.

Just then, a knock on the door, and the waitstaff came in with the food.

Samantha quickly pulled away from Wesley's hand, her face burning, ears turning red. 'He almost kissed me! This is moving kinda fast.'

Wesley swallowed, a hint of regret in his eyes. 'Just a bit more, and I would've kissed her.' He shot a displeased glance at the waitstaff. 'Why now of all times?'

"Miss Gordon, all the dishes are served. Please enjoy." The waitstaff noticed Wesley's displeasure but still addressed Samantha politely.

"Thanks." Samantha thanked them, not daring to look at Wesley. Her face was glowing pink from shyness.

Wesley felt a fondness in his heart, a hint of a smile in his eyes. He moved closer, teasing, "Samantha, why won't you look at me?"

Wesley's scent made Samantha's body tense. Thinking about how they almost kissed, she felt uneasy. She instinctively moved a bit to the side, shyly saying, "Wesley, don't tease me."

Wesley laughed, thinking, 'Samantha's so innocent. Clearly, she's never been touched by a guy.'

His gaze swept over her lips, then down to her slightly heaving chest, his eyes darkening.

At that moment, Samantha's phone rang. Seeing it was Ryan calling, she smiled and said to Wesley, "Wesley, I need to take this call."

Wesley saw the caller ID, Ryan. He remembered the owner of this place was named Ryan and guessed it might be him.

"Hey, Ryan." Samantha greeted sweetly.

"I heard from Uriel you're dining at Gourmet Restaurant?" The magnetic male voice over the phone had a hint of affection.

"Yeah, and I even threw some weight around, drove away one of your VIPs. You mad?" Samantha asked, smiling, not worried about Ryan being mad at all.

"Of course not. Even if you drove away all the guests, I wouldn't mind." Ryan laughed.

"That's why you're my favorite brother." Samantha praised Ryan without hesitation. She knew he'd be pleased. Making him happy meant better treatment in the future.

Wesley couldn't help but glance at Samantha, thinking, 'Favorite brother? Samantha and Ryan must be tight. Does she talk this sweet to every guy?'

After chatting with Ryan for a bit, Samantha hung up. She turned to see Wesley looking at her. She smiled and put her phone aside.

Wesley served her a bowl of soup and asked, "Who was on the phone?"

"Oh, it was my brother, the owner here, Ryan." Samantha said.

"He seems to spoil you a lot?" Wesley asked casually.

"Yeah," Samantha said with a smile.

Wesley looked at her. "Samantha, do you have a lot of guy friends?"
