Chapter 668 How Did He Become a Jerk?
Margaret flicked her hair and provocatively looked at Nora.
"Ms. Smith, do you like my new car?"
Her face was full of blatant pride, almost as if she was saying, "Aaron bought it for me."
Nora glanced at Margaret and smiled, "No wonder so many people in the circle are saying they won't buy this car anymore. Do you know why, Margaret Taylor?"
"Why?"
"Because recently, there was a scandal involving this car model."
Nora said seriously, "An executive from a big company was caught having sex with a subordinate in this car model. The car was a gift from the married executive to his mistress. After the incident, the car became labeled as 'exclusive to mistresses' by netizens! Margaret Taylor, aren't you afraid your colleagues will laugh at you for driving it to school so openly?"
Margaret's smile froze, realizing that Nora was insinuating she was a mistress.
Unconvinced, she retorted, "Why should I be afraid? Even if my colleagues know I'm with Mr. Gordon now, so what? You and Mr. Gordon aren't married yet. Since you're not married, I'm not a mistress! Besides, Mr. Gordon will eventually break off the engagement with you and marry me."
Margaret spoke with such confidence.
Nora wasn't angry. Instead, a hint of pity flashed in her eyes.
"You believe everything he says. How do you know he hasn't said the same to other women? From what I know, he's been getting close to a young starlet recently. The reporters even sent the photos to my phone!"
"Women love to dream, thinking they'll be the last woman for a playboy, not realizing they're just being played!"
Nora looked at her sympathetically, then turned and got into her car, driving away without further words.
Margaret was on an emotional roller coaster as she pondered Nora's words.
Could it be true that Aaron was involved with other women besides her?
But Aaron had promised to marry her!
Margaret got into her car and dialed Aaron's number.
But the phone was turned off.
Frowning, Margaret sat for a while before driving to the Gordon Manor.
Ahead, Nora arrived at the Gordon Manor, greeted Adelbert and Jacob, and went inside.
Not long after, Margaret arrived, too.
She seemed a bit distracted.
Nora patted Samantha's little head. "Go to class. I'll bring some fruit later."
It seemed she needed to find a new music teacher in the next few days.
After all, she couldn't let a woman with questionable morals teach Samantha music.
Nora went to the kitchen, cut some fruit, and then headed to the music room.
At that moment, Margaret was playing on her phone while Samantha was practicing her vocal exercises alone.
Her work attitude had indeed changed.
When Margaret was just a music teacher, she was quite serious.
Now, it felt like she was just going through the motions.
"Samantha, come have some fruit." Nora called to Samantha.
Margaret put away her phone when she heard Nora's voice.
"Ms. Smith, can I have a word with you?"
Nora glanced at her, showing no displeasure in front of Samantha, and followed her outside.
"What do you want to say?"
Margaret looked at Nora. "You just said Mr. Gordon was getting close to a young starlet. Who is she?"
So Margaret was worried about this.
Nora raised an eyebrow, her eyes flickering.
She had said it on purpose to pique Margaret's curiosity.
If Margaret and Betsy start fighting, Nora would be happy to watch the drama unfold.
"Her name is Betsy Ward. Here are the photos the entertainment reporter sent me."
Nora took out her phone and showed Margaret the photos Becky had sent her.
"See, I wasn't lying. Aaron had other lovers besides you."
Margaret's face turned sour as she snatched Nora's phone and scrutinized the photos.
The more she looked, the worse her mood became.
Fearing Margaret might smash her phone, Nora quickly took it back.
"Margaret Taylor, do you believe me now? You're too naive. No matter how many women Aaron has outside, he won't break off the engagement with me. He told me himself. He's just playing around with you all. The position of Mrs. Gordon will always be mine."
Margaret's chest heaved with anger.
"I don't believe you! Those photos must be fake!"
Nora glanced at her and shook her head. "You really can't wake someone who's pretending to be asleep. Margaret Taylor, I don't care about your personal affairs, but since you haven't replaced me as Mrs. Gordon yet, please focus on your teaching. If you don't want to do it, just say so, and don't waste Samantha's time!"
Margaret wanted to say she was quitting, but the words got stuck in her throat.
She had been so confident, but now she felt a bit uncertain.
She couldn't fathom the idea that Aaron would lie to her. Yet, if he was being truthful, then the photos Nora had shown her were a mystery begging for an explanation.
Not far away, Billy, who was running to find Nora, overheard their conversation and froze, quickly hiding in a corner.
His little brow furrowed, and a look of confusion flashed in his eyes.
What did Nora mean by saying Aaron and Margaret were involved?
Aaron clearly loved Nora!
But he hadn't misheard; Nora had said Aaron was just playing around with other women and that Mrs. Gordon's position would always be hers!
So Aaron had become a jerk!
It sounded like Aaron had affairs not only with Margaret but also with Betsy.
How could this be?
Billy was very upset and wanted to rush over and confront Margaret but was afraid of embarrassing Nora.
He clenched his little fists, feeling a bit lost.
He needed to find Alex!
He had to discuss this with Alex!
Although they all liked the idea of Aaron being their dad, they couldn't stand seeing Nora get hurt.
If Aaron was unfaithful to Nora, then they didn't want him as their dad!
Billy went upstairs, opened his tablet, logged into his account, and then called Alex on a video call.
Soon, the call connected.
Alex's face, identical to his, appeared on the screen.
"Bro."
Billy called out, his face looking grim.
Alex noticed Billy's unhappiness and asked, "What's wrong? Who upset you?"
Billy opened his mouth but hesitated.
Alex said, "Just say it. Don't beat around the bush."
Billy took a deep breath. "Bro, I discovered a big secret."
"What?"
"Aaron, he..."
Billy was about to speak when a male voice came from the screen.
"Alex, dinner's ready."
Billy's words got stuck in his throat, and a look of suspicion flashed in his eyes.
"Bro, I think I heard Aaron's voice."
The camera wobbled as if it had changed positions.
Alex's face disappeared from view as if he was talking to someone.
Billy frowned. "Bro, what are you doing?"
The camera wobbled again, and Alex's delicate face reappeared.
Billy peered into the screen, but it was empty, with no one else in sight.
