Chapter 487 Don't Mind If She's a Jinx

"Sandy's stomachache is really severe now. I'm going home first, and then I'll go to the hospital," Kenneth said.

Ebenezer fell silent for a moment. He continued to reveal, saying, "Kenneth, I need to tell you something. Your father-in-law deceived you. The person you married is not Sandy but his younger daughter, Cora.

"I heard that Cora was born as a jinx, and your father-in-law has been secretly raising her outside, so no one knows about her. The real Sandy is already dead, and Cora replaced her to marry you."

Ebenezer explained the situation briefly and waited for Kenneth's response.

He thought Kenneth would be furious and surprised, but he didn't expect Kenneth to sound calm.

"Dad, how do you know about this?" Kenneth asked.

Ebenezer glanced at Suzy. "Suzy told me," he revealed.

Kenneth fell silent for a moment and said, "Dad, I've known about this for a long time. Whether she's Cora or Sandy, I know she is my wife and the mother of my unborn child!"

'Kenneth had known all along?' Ebenezer was somewhat amazed.

He put aside his curiosity about how Kenneth found out and asked, "Don't you mind that she's a jinx?"

Kenneth replied, "There's no such thing as a jinx in this world. It's just a baseless superstition. Everyone has their destiny, and I don't believe in these superstitious beliefs."

He was calm. Ebenezer approved of Kenneth's steady character and consistent way of doing things.

"Kenneth, she's your wife, so just think it through for yourself," Ebenezer advised.

After all, they would be living together, and Ebenezer didn't want to interfere too much in Kenneth's personal matters as a father.

"Dad, I've thought it through. No matter who she is, as long as she's my wife, I'll protect her," Kenneth said firmly.

When Ebenezer heard this, he didn't say much.

"I know," he said.

After hanging up, Suzy quickly asked, "Dad, what did Kenneth say? Is he going to divorce Cora?"

Hearing this, Ebenezer glanced at her displeased and said, "Divorce? Even though Cora replaced Sandy and married Kenneth, their relationship is good now, so let it be. Don't bring up Cora's affairs again."

Suzy choked and unwillingly said, "But Mom fell down the stairs."

"Your mom's fall was just an accident. It was her carelessness. What does it have to do with others? Don't blame Sandy for it," Ebenezer said.

Suzy choked again and was almost angry, pondering, 'Why is it not as I imagined? In my understanding, wealthy and powerful families are very superstitious! Why doesn't Dad believe it? He's actually keeping Cora, that jinx! Is my performance ending like this?'

Suzy's gaze landed on Emma, who was wearing an oxygen mask, her eyes flickering with anxiety.

Cora was different from the current focus; Emma was.

Suzy hoped Emma wouldn't wake up and she would die on the operating table!

After finishing an experiment, Nora realized she had missed several calls on her phone, including Emma's, Ebenezer's, Kenneth's, and Aaron's.

Nora found Emma's call a bit strange.

Although they were mother and daughter on the surface now, Emma never called her secretly. At the same time, Ebenezer and Kenneth both called Nora.

‘Has something happened to the Hamilton family?’ Thinking this, Nora called Ebenezer's number back.

The call was quickly answered.

"Dad, do you need something from me?" she inquired.

"Yes, Nora. Emma had an accident. Can you come to the hospital?" Ebenezer said straightforwardly.

Nora was surprised and asked. "What happened to her?" she asked.

"She fell from upstairs and hit her head. She was just taken to the emergency room, and the situation was looking bad," he explained. Ebenezer's tone was full of worry.

"I understand. I'll come right away," Nora said and hung up, quickly explained the reason to Jason, and then left the lab.

Nora wondered, ‘How did Emma fall from upstairs?’

Nora thought Kenneth's call was also because of this incident. With that in mind, Nora returned Kenneth's call.

"Kenneth, you called me?" Nora asked.

"Yeah, were you busy just now?" Kenneth asked.

"Yes." Nora said, "I just called Dad too, and he said something happened to Mom. Did you call me because of this too?"

"Yes, but not only because of that," Kenneth replied.

He continued, "I called you because, first, something happened to Mom, and second, Sandy has a stomachache."

Nora paused for a moment, saying, "Sandy has a stomachache again? What's going on?"

Kenneth remained silent for a moment and said, "It might be because of her unstable emotions."

" How could Sandy have unstable emotions? Did you guys have a fight?" Nora asked tentatively.

"No, it's not that. It's because Mom and Suzy both found out about her real identity," Kenneth explained.

After a pause, Kenneth added, "Suzy also mentioned that Mom fell down the stairs because she heard that Sandy is Jinx."

Hearing this, Nora's eyes widened with surprise.

"How did they find out about this?" she asked.

"I'm not sure yet," Kenneth replied.

Nora frowned, worried about Suzy suddenly asking about Cora before.

Could it be that Suzy hired someone to investigate Sandy?

This could be better!

Suzy is the kind of person who hopes for more chaos. If she knows the truth, she will definitely cause trouble.

Maybe she's trying to blame Sandy for Emma falling down the stairs.

Worried, Nora asked, "Kenneth, what do you think? You shouldn't believe these baseless claims, right?"

"Of course, I don't believe these claims. Mom falling down the stairs was just an accident, and Sandy is my wife and the mother of my unborn child. Regardless of her identity, this fact won't change," Kenneth reassured.

Hearing this, Nora smiled and felt a little relieved.

Kenneth is indeed a responsible person.

"So, how is Sandy now? Do you want me to come over and check on her?" Nora asked.

"She rested for a while and is feeling better now. Nora, please go to the hospital first. Can you help Mom?" Kenneth said, his final words filled with a sincere apology.

"Don't worry, I'll do my best," Nora assured him, sensing the apology in his tone.

Kenneth probably knows that Emma has been treating her poorly, which is why he feels apologetic.

"Thank you, Nora," Kenneth sincerely thanked her.

Nora smiled and said, "Kenneth, you don't have to thank me. I'll hang up now."

"Okay," he replied.

Meanwhile, inside the Hamilton Villa, Kenneth hung up and looked at the servants in front of him, asking them about the details of Emma's fall down the stairs.
