Chapter 401 Do You Love My Elder Brother Now?

A subtle curve graced the corners of Sandy's lips, only to fade as the thought of their impending divorce in a year loomed over her. The prospect of parting ways in the future made her wish that Kenneth would not treat her so kindly in the present. She feared the possibility of not being able to bear leaving him.

"Sandy, what are you thinking about?" Nora's voice pulled her from her thoughts. After calling her name a few times and waving a hand in front of her unresponsive eyes, Sandy was jolted back to reality. She offered a dismissive smile and a shake of her head. "Nothing."

Nora studied her friend, her gaze probing. "Are you thinking about my elder brother?"
Sandy quickly tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and denied it. "No."

A playful eyebrow arched on Nora's face. "Oh, really? You're radiating a maternal aura all over. It must be thanks to my brother's thoughtful care! Sandy, do you love my elder brother now?"

Did she love Kenneth? Sandy's gaze flickered, and she chuckled, "What's all this talk about love, Nora? Don't be cheesy."

Nora laughed lightly, taking Sandy's hand in hers. "Sandy, this is so great. You and Kenneth will definitely have a long-lasting marriage."

So, she shouldn't entertain any thoughts of misfortune. She should focus on living a good life with Kenneth.

Sandy smiled, her gaze drifting towards the distant mountains outside the window. She felt a pang of distraction. In that moment, she yearned to grow old with Kenneth, never to part. But she considered herself a harbinger of bad luck. Surely, God wouldn't favor her that much!

Their journey ended at the Imperial City Hospital. Exiting the car, Nora accompanied Sandy to the third-floor gynecology department. They took a number, but there were still a few people waiting ahead of Sandy. Nora helped Sandy settle on a bench, awaiting their turn.

Soon, a girl emerged from the outpatient room, having finished her examination. The doctor called the next patient.

Nora sat quietly beside Sandy, her gaze casually falling on the girl who had just exited the room. She was young, likely in her early twenties, with wheat-colored skin, probably a college student.

At first, Nora didn't pay much attention, but her interest piqued when she overheard the girl's conversation with her companion.

"So, is it true that you're pregnant?" the friend asked.

The girl nodded shyly, "Yes."

Her friend gasped in surprise, "Oh my, you're carrying Flynt's child! Tell him right away and have him marry you!"
The girl said, "He's waiting for me downstairs; I'll tell him right away."

Flynt? The name rang a bell, reminding Nora of the musician Flynt. She found herself intrigued by the two slim figures and their conversation.

"Sandy, I'll go down for a bit," she said.

Sandy, though curious, didn't probe further.

Nora followed the pair, taking the elevator downstairs. The two girls were visibly excited, but they kept their conversation to a minimum, likely due to the presence of others in the elevator.

Nora trailed them discreetly to the first floor, careful not to make a sound. Instead of heading for the main entrance, the girls took a side door.

Nora maintained a safe distance, observing as they exited the building and climbed into a camper van.
Nora was unable to discern the occupants of the vehicle, but as it began to pull away, she hastily drew out her phone and captured an image of the van's license plate.

The plate struck a chord of familiarity in her, and after a moment's contemplation, Nora's brow furrowed. If her memory served her right, this camper van was the same one Flynt used for his gigs.

Could it be possible that the person in the vehicle was indeed the musician, Flynt? But wasn't he dating Evella? Had Evella been deceived by a scoundrel?

She internally lamented the abundance of such men in the world, and how they all seemed to gravitate towards her. But she quickly checked herself. She couldn't jump to conclusions without substantial proof. What if this was just another misunderstanding, like the situation with Edric and Nora?

Collecting herself, Nora returned to the gynecology department. Coincidentally, it was Sandy's turn for her prenatal check-up.
"Sandy," Nora called out, rushing over to assist her.

Sandy looked at her quizzically, "Is there something you need?"

"I'll explain later," Nora replied, accompanying her into the examination room.

Sandy had an appointment with the head of the gynecology department, a doctor well acquainted with the Hamilton family. The doctor conducted a thorough examination of Sandy, assuring her that the baby was developing well and there were no significant issues.

Once Sandy had concluded her check-up, Nora turned to the doctor, "Aimee, could you tell me about the girl who was here before Sandy?"

Aimee hesitated, reluctant due to patient confidentiality. Nora reassured her, "Don't worry, I just want to understand her situation; I won't cause any trouble."

Considering the Hamilton family's standing, Aimee decided there was no harm in sharing the information. She revealed that the girl's name was Ava, a nineteen-year-old sophomore at Lindwood City Art College, who was six weeks pregnant.

Nora skimmed through the file quickly, thanked Aimee, and helped Sandy out of the examination room.

Sandy, intrigued, asked, "Nora, what's going on? Do you know that girl?"

Nora shook her head, "I don't know her."

"Then why did you look at her file?" Sandy queried.

Nora took a moment before deciding to be honest. "I suspect that a jerk may have taken advantage of this girl," she confessed, explaining what she had witnessed earlier and mentioning Flynt's relationship with Evella.

Sandy was taken aback, "Evella fell in love with that musician, Flynt, after just one meeting? Isn't that a bit hasty?"

Nora agreed, "I was surprised when Evella told me too. It's not that Evella isn't a good catch; it's just that Flynt's claim of love at first sight seemed a bit insincere."

Sandy nodded, "I've heard that these rock musicians can be quite casual, and Evella is so innocent. Flynt might just be toying with her."

Nora's concern deepened at Sandy's words. She thought about Ava, who also seemed so innocent. "Sandy, do you think Flynt might have a penchant for innocent college girls like Evella?"

Sandy's expression turned serious, "Nora, we need to warn Evella as soon as possible. We should encourage her to distance herself from Flynt before she gets too involved."

Nora nodded, "I understand. But love can blind people. If I bluntly tell her that Flynt is not trustworthy, she might not believe me. We need to gather solid evidence and present it to her directly."

She hoped that she was overthinking the situation, and that, like the incident with Edric and Anna, it was all just a misunderstanding.
